I don't really understand this. He has barely played enough to really earn the captaincy.

Nice video from Liverpool's perspective. Lots of one-twos that weren't completed but those are usually fixed throughout a season.

The goals were great, especially that Riise Hammer. Voronin could be a surprise just like Berbatov, they're even from the same club.

I would've loved to see both clubs battle it out at full strength, which means that Werder would have Diego, Mertesacker, Naldo and Carlos Alberto in their squad. Maybe they'll meet in the CL :D

So Tevez' 'representatives' came out in the papers this morning slagging off West Ham for 'inconsistant messages'

Eggy just bitch slapped them:

The player's agent accused the club of failing to act upon "repeated promises and assurances" over the Argentine's proposed move to Manchester United and warned that he would reveal the "true circumstances" of the situation.

However, a statement posted on West Ham's official website www,whufc.com read: "West Ham United totally rejects the latest outburst and threats issued in the name of Kia Joorabchian in relation to the situation regarding Carlos Tevez.

"We will not be drawn into this form of public mudslinging but these latest statements cannot go unanswered.

"Mr Joorabchian entered into agreements with the previous regime at West Ham United at a time in which he was attempting to take over the club. Those arrangements, since terminated by West Ham United, led the club into serious disciplinary difficulties for which the club has paid a heavy price.

"It is absolutely clear that the only contract relating to Carlos Tevez recognised by West Ham United and the Premier League is the player's four-year contract which runs until June 2010. All other arrangements were terminated by West Ham on April 27, 2007 and no legal challenge to that termination has occurred. So STFU you red nosed Bitch"

I've lost all hope of keeping Tevez, seems one way or another he'll never play for us again, but man I'd love Eggy to take that slimey bastard Joorabchian down before he lets him go to Man U.

I doubt anything will be sorted out any time soon and it wouldn't surprise me if it wouldn't happen this summer.

Sure, there's still over a month left, but I have a feeling this is going to go to court.

I could see Man Utd pulling out of a potential deal soon if they don't see much chance of the matter being resolved soonish.

I would welcome that. Actually, my entire post is nothing but wishful thinking. It would also be great if this mug would land in prison.

Apparently it'll be 2 weeks before FIFA are ready to hear the case, then they can basically release Tevez from his contract or tell Man U they have to deal with West Ham...if Fifa find in Tevez' favour he will be a free agent so the window wont matter anyway.

It's hard to say whether West Ham actually believe they have a case or if they are just a mouth piece for the PL at the moment. The theory is that if we just do everything the PL tells us, we cant be punished if Fifa turn round and cancel Tevez' registration (because it was the PL who accepted the unilateral termination of the 3rd party deal).

Either way as long as we dont get docked points Im happy, but i would REALLY like to see Kia Joobritwat stripped of Tevez' 'economic rights' and shipped of to Brazil for trial.

Who, Tevez?

Yeah but if you think about it we don't really have anyone else suited for the job. Given would be my choice based on senority alone but I guess having a non up-field player makes for an ineffective captain. Solano probably won't be a regular next season. So other than Owen, perhaps Duff or Carr can get the armband; something which I'm not entirely comfortable with.

who else?

Are Fifa going to decide immediately or are they gonna take some time too? I could see that take another 2 weeks too. If that's the case it's going to get very close to the deadline and also the season would already have started by then.

It's not worth it Manyoo, pull out of the deal!

Apparently Bellamy is Dyers best mate!

oh what a tangled web we weave.

I'd take Dyer though, Fauberts f00ked his achillies in austria so we need another winger, Dyer looked pretty damn good towards the end of last season for me. Why did the geordies boo him off the bitch in his last game?

Dyer, Ballamy, Bowyer
you will have an extremely sympathetic squad next year.

btw

Its a big ****ing mess. I want this deal to be done as soon as possible and I'm quite optimictic about it, but I've got this bad feeling that the deal edidnt happen this summer and if negotiations completely collapsed. Its keeps getting more complicated by the day.

I dont havce that much faith in fifa. Its not that they cant sort it out, but its going to take them a while to even begin looking at the case and it'll take a long time to sort out. Fifa's investigation might not resolve much either, more complications could arise.

A lot of this is the premierleague's fault. Instead of just punishing west ham, they should have sorted this out properly so that there wouldnt be such big complications over his contract. From what we've read, it sounds like the premierleague are pretending that west ham ripped up the contract that ties up tevez to MSI, but that doesnt seem to be the case because kia thinks that he owns tevez or is entitled to some of the money from selling tevez.

What really pisses me off is that Mascherano moved to Liverpool withalmost no fuss, but the tevez situation is a right mess. We should be able to make a deal like liverpool did with Mascherano. It was done quickly and it didnt involve all the controversy thats involved with the tevez deal.

The next time bower has the urge to hit dyer, he'll think twwice about it because bellamy would back dyer and hit bowyer with a golf club.

I don't think Berbatov being a success was a surprise, it certainly wasn't to me anyway, he did extremely well in Germany.

Chelsea still want Chimbonda, and Spurs obviously don't want to sell. However, Spurs also want Wright-Phillips, and Chelsea don't want to sell (to a team they can see becoming championship rivals in the next few years at least).

So it looks like we might have another Ashley Cole/Gallas situation here. Reportedly Spurs will let Chelsea have Chimbonda...for Wright-Phillips and Glen Johnson.

Now...I understand their reasoning. They want Wright-Phillips (I assume Lennon would play on the left and W-P on the right, I doubt they'll compete for the same spot), but if they're losing Chimbonda their priority has to be a right back, and Johnson's a good fit.

They're not going to get that as a straight swap. Even if they rate W-P and Chimbonda as the same price, Johnson's got to be worth at least £5m. Spurs seem to have cash to burn though, so maybe they're willing.

Personally I'd stop looking at Chimbonda if I was at Chelsea and stump up the cash to get Alves. I rate Chimbonda, but he's 28 and Alves is 24 and you don't lose Johnson that way.

I mean, this could be Chelsea's backline, with their ages:

Alves (24) Terry (26) Carvalho (29) A Cole (26)

and in reserve:

Johnson (22) Alex (25) Ben Haim (25) Bridge (26)

Now that's almost perfect, they could keep that defence for the next 5 years. Carvalho wouldn't be a first choice anymore at 34, but absolutely no problem at that age as a reserve. And with Cech behind them only being 25, it's the sort of stability you dream of for your defence.

You have read wrong.

First off Mascherano went through because West Ham agreed to terminate his registration, they were forced to under the 3rd party agreement that shouldnt have existed. Once he was a free agent he could join Liverpool with no negotiation with West Ham.

When West Ham terminated the 3rd party agreement, they sent copies of the order to the premier league, and a copy of MSIs responce (which presumably was acceptance, witholding the right to challenge at a later date). The Premier League agreed that this was enough for Tevez' registration to remain with West Ham and conceeded that MSI would have the right to challenge the termination of the agreement IN COURT at any point.

Now, since MSI have made no effort to get the agreement re-instated in the courts, West Ham are free of the third party agreement that would otherwise force them to terminate Tevez' registration at MSIs request.

So unless West Ham want to be punished again by the PL, they have to insist the transfer goes through them (even though at this point Im sure they'd rather it were all over with).

As for why MSI havent taken West Ham to court over the terminated agreement, the only sensible conclusion is that they dont think they'd win. It has been theorised on several occasions that MSIs ownership of Tevez is bordering on illegal in the EU under trade practice laws. This rumour is confounded by the fact that Tevez' representives keep making threats in the papers about 'revealing the truth' with secret documents and such, and as yet have produced exactly nothing.

So thats about the size of it: West Ham have no option but to fight, Man U dont want to pay twice (especially as they still wouldnt own the player according to MSI), MSI are affraid of attempting to prove their ownership of the player.

Hell yea, we are having a good transfer campaign this summer. First Michael from Palmeiras and then we owned France market with Ismaël Bangoura and now Diakhaté transfers.

Though our rivals from Donetsk got Lucarelli and purposely hunting to get Veron, but they kinda lost Matusalem in the same time, so our chances to keep the championship title in Kiev are pretty strong.

I hope we'll do better in Champions' League though, last season was a disaster :(.

P.S. How do you Liverpool fans like Voronin btw? :) I bet he'll play in more than 40% of matches, he is damn too useful to waste him on bench.

Eto'o about the alleged Milan interest:

"Milan is a great team, a club that is known around the world, who have just won the Champions League," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I am proud to be considered a target by them but, for now, I am happy where I am."

However, Eto'o did offer a glimmer of hope to Milan as he admitted a huge offer may tempt the Catalan giants to sell.

He added: "The amount of money is something for the club to think about. For me, the figures will never change my plans. As for Barcelona, I do not know."

One of Barcelona's dream galactico team is looking for a move it seems.

well I dont see how that can cause a problem. Fergie's hinted that rossi and smith will be on their way out.

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8699_2600366,00.html

Sir Alex Ferguson has dropped the broadest hint yet that Alan Smith and Giuseppe Rossi are on their way out of Old Trafford - but squashed flat any suggestion of Gabriel Heinze leaving for Liverpool.

With the Carlos Tevez wrangle expected to be resolved by the end of August, Smith and Rossi's futures have been the subject of intense debate over the last few weeks.

Middlesbrough are rumoured to have made a substantial offer for Smith, who made an impressive contribution at the back end of the title-winning campaign after finally recovering from the horrific injuries he suffered at Liverpool in February 2006, while Parma are keen to keep Rossi, who scored nine goals in a 16-game loan spell to keep the club in Serie A.

Perhaps understandably given the uncertainty over Tevez's situation, Ferguson is trying to keep his options open as long as possible.

But the Manchester United boss accepts that if Tevez does eventually sign, neither Smith nor Rossi may feel entirely comfortable at the number of first-team opportunities they are likely to get next term.

"We have had offers for Giuseppe, which puts us in a bit of a situation, while the quandary with Alan surrounds his long-term future and getting regular games," Ferguson told PA Sport.

"There is no doubt Alan did fantastically well for us when he came back last season.

"He gave the team a spiritual lift and because he is such a fighter, he was an inspiration to us. But he is 26 now and he wants regular football.

"I have to look at Manchester United in terms of how do we improve to get better. And when someone like Tevez comes along, it makes it difficult for people like Alan and Giuseppe in particular.

"The most important thing is that they are our players and we can make decisions when we like."

Well, if he's fully owned by West Ham, then they're under no obligation to sell him full stop.

I don't believe the tearing up the contract thing though. As if Kia is going to say "oh, that was illegal was it, here I'll relinquish any claims to Tevez and lose out on millions of pounds", when he could say "oh, that was illegal was it, well you'd better give him back then so I can sell him elsewhere".

The only way the tearing up the contract thing actually happened is if both parties agreed to it. One side can't just do that themselves, or no one would be paying their mortgage. And the only way Kia agreed to that is if West Ham agreed that, while they would get paid the money for any sale of Tevez, they'd then pass it on to him afterwards as just, you know, a thank you.

Now if the Premier League didn't get proof[/i] that the contract was torn up, they shouldn't have allowed Tevez to play on. If they didn't, they're worst legal panel I've ever heard of.

If they did, it's still not over. If Kia has it in writing that West Ham will give him a rather substantial "thank you gift" after any transfer of Tevez, then he has a case. If it was just a verbal agreement and he can't prove anything, I don't think he'd have a leg to stand on.

I can only see this going two ways. Either it will be revealed that West Ham don't own Tevez, in which case they (and I like to the the Premier League for their incompetence) are ****ed and Tevez is free to be sold to United by MSI, or they do own him and they can either sell him for a lot or keep him until his contract runs out.

I just can't see how there could be a compromise.

I've noticed over the last couple of years that more and more money is being put into Russian and in this case Ukrainian clubs. Where does all the money come from? Is it all oil tycoons and dodgy businessmen?

TV Contracts and ticket sales can't be that hot, can they?

You dont want to agree a deal with us because you'll have to shell out cash upfront, Kia's offer gives you Tevez for 2 years for £1.4 million upfront (which goes straight into MSIs bank account). £30 million or a Fifa arbitration...not a hard sum to do.

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx...ners+move+for+starlets&channel=football_home&

Arsenal have reportedly signed Angel Di Maria and Pedro Silva, a young Argentinian and a young Brazilian, a left winger and a striker, 19 and 17 respectively.

So now the Arsenal fans have an extra incentive for watching Argentina in the U20 WC.

I also heard yesterday that Merida will go out on loan for a season. That's pretty disappointing, I figured he'd come into the first team next year. I don't see how Wenger can complain about Fabregas having to play so many games last year and getting tired, then send a player in the Fabregas mold out on loan. Maybe it's not true.

EDIT: wikipedia reckons Pedro is actually an attacking midfielder, but there's so little information I don't know who to believe.

I wonder if this one is true. I read some rumours a few days ago, but if I remember correctly they were shot down as untrue.

I'll wait for confirmation, I wouldn't be surprised if this was another rumour made up by some funny guys.

Aye, except of Champions League and Uefa Cup matches, tv contracts and tickets are still not nearly enough for big teams. The situation is constantly improving, but main source of funds is a local tycoons still. Shakhtar has a big metallurgy tycoon behind him, for example, and Dynamo owned by a board of big Ukrainian businessmen as well. In Russia thats oil and gaz companies for top teams and their budgets can be really huge. The transfers between them are already becoming quite impressive (like Tymoschuk move from Donetsk to Zenith St.Petersburg (Gazprom :p) for 20M$. :p) and they are really getting more aggressive lately on western and south american transfer markets, since they are ready to invest more in players than most UK or Spain clubs would.

I don't see why Arsenal would be so unsure of securing work permits anyway. Denilson and Anderson got them around the same age.

nice clip, he definitely has talent and he's not shy either. I wouldn't mind getting him.

I am looking forward to the game against Genclirburgerlirialiadiere, I think there's a chance we might see Eduardo for the first time.

I shall watch on the arsenal.com, this time there might be a stream on http://85.92.128.155/~myp2p/Matches/Match3.htm too for non subscribers.
