I am ecstatic about this start to the season. Our new title contenders played like I expected them to. Hopefully they won't recover from this.

Spurs lacked any sense of urgency and encouraged Sunderland to go for it - they did and deserved their win. Well done.

I think I'll watch Bolton - Newcastle as it appears to be coming up on the same stream I've just watched, so I at least know it's working.

Apparently Ashton is on the bench for West Ham, that's the most interesting team news I've seen.

I think I'm gonna watch West Ham against City, should be an interesting tie. Hopefully I can get a stream, the bloody myp2p.eu site seems down

It was an ok game. Spurs were disappointing today. They hardly created enough chances. I thought things would improve when tainio was taken off and keane was moved onto the wing, but keane disappeared once that happened. Bent didnt do much when he came on either. None of the strikers really provided anything, but thats not really their fault. The midfield didnt provide anything decent. It shows why spurs really need lennon because he's one of their few players that can provide for the strikers.

Sunderland did well. Their defneding was good, but they were not tested enough. It could have been a lot more difficult for them if spurs had played better, buyt the spurs attack was poor. Although sunderlands defending was good, they were not too good going forward. richardson and edwards would get into goiod positions, but they didnt provide any fgood deliveries. I think it was edwards that made the cross that lead to the goal, but other than that, he didnt do much. I can see why keane wants another winger. Its rumoured that he'll go after matty taylor, but I doubt portsmouth will sell. they dont need the money and im sure they would prefer him to stay.

The referee had a good game too. The only thing wiley did wrong was not book zokora for the dive. It was a blatent dive. He cheated in order to try and get a penalty. I dont see how we're going to crack down on diving if the refs are niot prepared to punish players. other than that, the ref did a good job.

Just seen the score Bwahahahaha roflcopter :lol

Hey doesn't that mean Sunderland have already reached a third of the points they achieved the last time they got relagated?

Newcastle seem to be playing the 4-3-3 formation I expected Fat Sam to take over from Bolton, though I don't know why they kept playing 4-4-2 in their friendlies then. A strange line up in some ways:

------------------Harper-------------------

Carr----Rozehnal----Taylor----N'Zogbia

--------------------Butt--------------------

----------Geremi---------Smith-----------

----Milner----------------------Martins----

-------------------Viduka------------------

It'll be a good formation when (if) Newcastle get a fully fit, and not facing criminal charges, squad.

Ermmm...the Newcastle official site says Given's in goal, the stream I'm watching say Harper.

I actually thought Given was supposed to be injured for this game, but I figured the official fucking site would get it right...so I dunno.

Blackburn have precisely 0 new faces in their line up today, will any other club be able to say that this weekend? I doubt it.

That's either consitency or resting on our laurels. I'm hoping the lack of new players looking to settle in, the Intertoto games and Middlesbrough being without Woodgate will result in a....oh, let's say 5-0 win to us. I'd like to top the table.

Smiths in midfield, I wasnt expecting that Its not his strongest position but he's strong and a good fighter so he can do a decent job. Its no surprise newcastle are playing a 4-3-3 because its what allardyce played at Bolton. lets hope that allardyce doesnt make newcastle play the boring football that bolton played. That shouldnt happen though, Newcastle have got more quality and they've got a good attacking line up.

Our Line-Up for today:

Kahn - Lahm, Demichelis, Lucio, Jansen - Ze Roberto, van Bommel, Schweinsteiger, Ribery - Klose, Toni

Sounds good!

That's a great line-up.

I'm interested to see how Man City will do, with all their new (great) signings, like Corluka, Elano, Bianchi and Bojinov.

At 20.00 there's the Dutch Supercup: PSV - Ajax. Should be interesting.

Here are the line ups for west ham and man city

West Ham
Green
Spector
Ferdinand
Upson
McCartney
Ljungberg
Bowyer
Noble
Boa Morte
Zamora
Bellamy

Man City
Schmeichel
Richards
Corluka
Dunne
Garrido
Elano
Hamann
Johnson
Petrov
Ireland
Bianch

I'm watching newcastle vs Bolton at the moment, but I might switch to man city vs west ham in the second half. It'll be interesting to see how man city play.

0-1, N-Zogbia, direct from a good free kick (though it was meant for someone to head).

Deserved, Newcastle have been the much better side.

N'zogbia just scored for newcastle. Very good free kick by him. Its one of those free kicks where its so difficult for the goalkeeper to deal with.

I'm watching West Ham v. Manchester City. City look quite good early on. West Ham look nervous.

Micah Richards is playing CB.

If he did it must be the most minor of touches.

Bolton have barely touched the ball, and they're playing Nolan on the right, which is madness.

Excellent, he's in my team.

I love Newcastle's strip, it's really sharp. Not sure about the goalkeeper's, though it is Famicom coloured.

Bolton seem to be falling apart. I think they might do even worse this season than I thought, and I didn't think they'd do well to start with.

Derby lead Portsmouth 1:0.

3-0, Martins though a big defelction.

Bolton maybe should have had a penalty for a handball, but the replay wasn't clear enough, on this stream at least, to make it out.

Fuck Downing! Fuck all of you!

Needless to say the Newcastle game is fantastic. What's scary is that Owen, Given, Emre, Barton, Duff and Sanchez all to return and fight for a first team place.

:lol :lol :lol @ Spurs

all 4 strikers played at some point or another for spurs yet they couldn't even get one shot on target between them.

:lol Sunderland leads the English Premier League...nuff said. :lol

Amazingly I've got Newcastle vs Bolton on the radio...local sports radio station has rights to EPL games this season. I remember listening to footie matches on the radio in the late 80's when I still lived in England. It's actually kinda neat.

BTW, :lol @ Bolton...just getting murdered by the Magpies now.

Also got West Ham/Man City on the TV, where City's up 1-0.

Couple other scores...Everton's up 1-0 over Wigan, Portsmouth tied up Derby 1-1, and Middlesborough sadly has a 1-0 lead on Mama's boys (I get the feeling Blackburn is everyone's second favourite team here, just cause Mama is so awesome).

Oh yeah, the Championship's also started today...Crystal Palace is leading Southhampton 2-0!! Woohoo!!

Davies is on the right? WTF Sam?

Nolan started on the right, whcih was stupid, so Sammy figured he'd fix it by changing things round so it's even stupider.

If Bolton want to play a 4-4-2, that's fine, but don't fucking put out players clearly suited to a 4-3-3 and try to force it.

Newcastle are walking all over bolton. Ive stopped watching the game and switched to man city vs west ham. Newcastle have won the game, bolton have no chance to get back in.

myp2p.eu

You're not really getting clobbered right now, mainly because Newcastle have taken their foot of the gas, which is understandable.

West ham have had most of the possession recently. City have been sitting back and soaking the pressure. If west ham could get a goal now it would give them a huge boost, but there's only a minute of stoppage time.

I want west ham to score because I dont like city and my predictions are going quite badly at the moment. I predicted a spurs win and i expected bolton and newcastle to draw, so I'm not getting any points from that.

Apparently Blackburn have had 0 shots on or off target, compared to Middlesbrough's 5 on, 1 off.

So our traditional start to the season then.

They were showing that incident where Taylor stopped the ball from going in on the line and its difficult to tell if anyone handballed it. Smith didnt handball it, but with the ball going so fast that I can understand why people would have thought it did his hand. taylor might have handballed it, but I'm not sure. It could have hit his thigh.
