didn't he once wear number 88 in a Merseyside derby as well?
Coincidence? I think not.
excellentOne player set to be key to Arsenal's hopes of success next season is midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The 20-year-old Spaniard feels Emirates Stadium is the right place for him to be now, having once again rejected the overtures from Real Madrid this summer.
Fabregas was quoted in the Spanish media as admitting he spoke to Real's president Ramon Calderon and sport director Predrag Mijatovic about their interest, but decided to remain at Arsenal.
However, Wenger insisted: "I did not allow Fabregas to talk to anybody. He denies he did.
"If you can get the statement he has done that and that Real Madrid, more than ever, has done that, then we will sue Real Madrid.
"His agent might have spoken to Real Madrid.
"But Real Madrid are not entitled to do it without our permission.
"You expect other clubs to behave in a fair way when you have players under contract."

Wow. Who fucked up on that one?Mama Smurf said:Oh WTF, it's worse than I thought. This is next Sunday:
Man City - Man Utd 13:30 - 15:20
Blackburn - Arsenal 15:00 - 16:50
Liverpool - Chelsea 16:00 - 17:50
Obviously I want to watch the Blackburn match most. And to do so I have to miss the last quarter of the Manchester derby, and the entire first half of the Liverpool match.

Mama Smurf said:Unless they're still adding points, I think I'm 4th in the fantasy league today. Doesn't really mean anything until the end of the weekend, I still have 5 players to play tomorrow (and someone only had 1 guy playing today), but it's onyl the bastards who made Gerrard the captain and therefore got 20 points from him alone who are ahead of me right now.

Like I say, until tomorrow's games are over it doesn't really mean too much, Chicago Cruz for example might have 8 players playing tomorrow.
I'm 224,737th out of 1,041,263. So that's like...fighting for the UEFA Cup.
hadareud said:quite clear now that it was no freekick. of course there was no way to see that flick on the shitty internet stream.
Really quite pisses me off, because stuff like that can change a season for a team.
could well be, it's interesting to say at the least. He's in my team on the bench btwMama Smurf said:Did you notice Matthew Taylor was left out of the starting line up? He wasn't injured, because he came on late on. He was the player I mentioned a while ago who I wanted to put in my team, but wouldn't risk it because I wasn't sure he'd play in midfield with a new arrival. And I was right about the new arrival in midfield, Muntari played there...but I never considered they wouldn't even play Taylor at left back.
And I still don't think they wouldn't normally. Which suggests to me that rumour of Spurs signing him as they lack a left winger is true.
EDIT: Fucking hell, Portsmouth do have a difficult start to the season. They could find themselves waaaay behind.

Mama Smurf said:Man Utd fans used to tell me that when Shearer was at the height of his ability. 112 in 138 matches for Blackburn, find me another striker who even came close. It's basically 4 goals every 5 games, unbelievable.
Yet apparently, Cantona was the better player because "all Shearer can do is score". A terrible affliction for a striker.
h0pper said:lol, but you know what I'm saying right? All I'm doing is giving credit where credit is due. Whoever was playing on the right for Man City carried the ball up and burst past West Ham's left back and made a beautiful cross to the far post. All Bianchi had to do was tap it in. Granted, he was doing the right thing and was where he needed to be but besides that, that goal was the winger's doing.
Mama Smurf said:It was Elano, and he did great, but being in the right place at the right time is harder than people think, or they'd all be doing it. I'm probably biased, being that sort of a striker. I'm fast enough but nothing special, I don't have any particular trickery on the ball, I can spend 90% of a game doing nothing...but dammit I can put the ball in the back of the net!
