Facebook users can add names to people in your pics...that info gets transmitted back to your iPhoto.

That I know. I was taking about the other direction. If I take a photo, import it to iPhoto, and then tag all the faces, when I upload that photo to Facebook do I need to tag them all again or will the face-data upload with the image?

It doesn't really matter I suppose. If the data only moves in one direction (FB to iPhoto) then I will just upload all my photos to Facebook without tags and then tag them all on FB, and have iPhoto pick up the face data from FB. I'm just hoping it works the other way because iPhoto will have the power to auto-tag all my friends thanks to face detection, which is something Facebook can't do.

An iPhone/iPod Touch update is all but certain now.

"Slideshows can be saved to iTunes and synced to iPhone and iPod touch"

There is currently no method of doing that with the current firmware.

You never know, could be part of itunes and it syncs it to the video section.

seems good to me. thats almost all I use tags for, so if iphoto does a good job automatically, and can update when I import new photos, that'll save me a ton of time.

with the places stuff, it'd be nice if it could tie together timestamps of photos from normal cameras (most don't have GPS) with GPS data from your iphone. eg if it knows you were in New York on a particular date, and you import a bunch of photos with that date, it could ask you smartly if thats where they were taken
