Franchise Tag deadline expires at midnight!!! Ravens decide not to franchise Adalius Thomas, hes as good as ours!!! As is Nate Clements!!

adalius said in an interview today that he wants to "play some place warm". well guess what buddy, welcome to san francisco! **** off packers, jets, and patriots!

but it's hot rain... jgar style!

plus dallas is on a bullet train to nowhere with the way their players/front office is setup. wade phillips is a joke of a coach (good coordinator though... like norv!), tony romo is a 1 hit wonder (and by 1 hit i mean about his first 5 games started of last year), an owner who is past his time and cannot properly evaluate talent/won't let anyone else call the shots, and the fact that they are the ****ing crappy dallas cowboys will all lead adalius to the promise land: san francisco. welcome adalius, we will be supplying you with your 2nd superbowl ring shortly.

but it's still the DALLAS COWBOYS. in a couple years, they'll be playing in a billion dollar stadium while the niners are slipping in the candlestick turf.

From a radio interview with the club's owner (via NFLUK.com):
I'm suprised nobody posted something like this:

For everyone salivating over the prospect of acquiring Adalius Thomas, keep in mind that the Ravens have a reputation for letting go of players at just the right time. How many former Ravens have gone on to great success elsewhere? Priest Holmes, and maybe Jamie Sharper (I haven't followed him with the Texans too closely.) But guys like Duane Starks, Ed Hartwell, Tony Weaver, Gary Baxter, and the oft-injured Brandon Stokely seem to be more the rule...leaving the Ravens for the money, but never really making an impact in proportion to their paycheck.

A.D. is a quality character guy, though, around Baltimore he has a sterling reputation as a role model, team player, and he's very involved with local charities, so you can't go wrong in that respect.

CHESTA rushed for 1216 yards and caught 42 balls this year. Just sayin'

Adalius is going to be a mistake for whatever team overpays for him. Great player to be sure, but I would only pay big bucks for a defensive end that commands a double team or a shutdown cornerback.

Pals of Brady claim Moyna han didn't bother to tell him she was announcing her pregnancy via Liz Smith's column in The Post on Sunday. "Bridget didn't even bother to tell him she was going to go public with this," said a friend. Some say that Moynahan, three months expectant with her first child, "may have gotten pregnant on purpose. She is 36, wanted a baby, and Tom was dumping her. It's a little suspicious.

:lol Bucs lost the coin flip to Cleveland.

Thats not good.

****. =( Andre Wadsworth is going to try out for the Bucs.. hope it works out, he was without question one of the best DEs FSU has ever had during his senior year and if his knees can hold up, I've got no doubt he can still play.

he's a guy

not as clutch as we thought maybe.

Of course, maybe he secretly replaced his semen with that of Big Ben's... then I'd believe all of bionic's crazy theories.

I can see Adalius Thomas going to San Fran, but Nate Clements is likely going to Washington.

They'll overpay and he has ties with DC Gregg Williams and assistant Jerry Gray.

when you don't have shit on defense it's not overpaying. it might be overpaying for a team like the pats or jets who have a decent defense in place, but for us we desperately need any help on defense that we can get.

What kind of defense does San Fran play?

And who is your defensive coordinator? Is he imaginative enough to move Thomas around the field so he can be as effective as possible (like Polamalu with the Steelers and Thomas when he was with the Ravens).

Sean Salisbury kinda freaked me out earlier today, he started just blasting Coughlin for coming out and saying he was disappointed that Tiki suggested he was the cause of retirement. Just went off for a long time on how Tiki's in the media now and there's no room for crying in football.:lol

one could only hope. today is the Mannings but soon the next NFL family will be the Rothelisbergers.

So the Niners don't want Alan Branch at all then.
:lol basically.

the local beat writer for the Lions keeps trying to give the PFT guys some dap but everytime they write a story about the Lions the guy usually is saying how wrong they are. "I love the guys at PFT, but in this case they're completely off-base. The manager of media relations is not going to replace Matt Millen as GM."

That hurts that you think my "facts" are theories and further that you think they are crazy.

Pretty much every mock draft has the Bucs drafting a WR in the 1st. WTF! I don't need Clayton 2!

Considering Calvin Johnson is pretty much guaranteed to you guys barring a Trade up from another team, id say those mock drafts are pretty accurate.

at least Calvin Johnson is used to playing with shitty quarterbacks

Almost DIED on the field and didn't shed a tear. No fear, no tears! Unlike some OTHER QB who shall remain nameless
for his entire career

No spleen also. Don't forget.

Almost beat the Panthers while his spleen was damaged like in a car wreck. Think about that! He was ****ing dying and didn't give any excuses. And what does GAF do? Tease him! Then you have pansies like McNabb throwing up on the field.

Champ Simms is going to take the NFL behind the school and get it pregnant in 2007!

Oliver Tomlinson would frequently brag to those passing through the Falls County community that his son played football for the San Diego Chargers and that they were going to win the Super Bowl. He dismissed all notions the team might not make it through two playoff games.

Um, what exactly was the purpose of putting that in there for? Guy dies and then they want to rub it in his face that the Chargers flubbed it. Talk about insult to injury.

I saw that little jab at Romo. I am not pleased.

So how is Simms training coming along? Can he still hitting trashcans 40 yards away?

"Pick me! Pick me!"

it's too bad Simms has never been a "champ" at anything in life. That 2001 Rose Bowl would have been nice...

Yeah, I agree that it was unneeded, but I guess it was to show how proud and confident he was of LT.

Bills willing to trade Mcghaee, giants interested.

Broncos running back Damien Nash collapsed and died after a charity basketball game in suburban St. Louis on Saturday, less than two months after the slaying of teammate Darrent Williams.

"We have been informed of the passing of Damien Nash," team spokesman Jim Saccomano said Saturday night. "We are attempting to get more details. ... We do know it's true."

Officials at Christian Hospital in St. Louis said the 24-year-old Nash died early Saturday evening. The cause of death wasn't immediately determined.

Nash collapsed shortly after participating in the game benefiting a foundation named for older brother Darris Nash. The foundation raises money for heart transplant research. It was established last month, after Darris Nash received a heart transplant.

Wow... RIP, that's kind of out of nowhere.

So, uh, anyone got any ideas what games will probably be prime time next season?

A few I'm willing to guess on:
Bengals/Patriots
Broncos/anyone (at least 4 times between SNF and MNF)
Titans/anyone (to further hype VY)
Giants/Eagles
Bears/Saints (they usually have one rematch of the previous year's AFC or NFC championship game at some point)
Steelers/someone (why they'd want to televise a nationwide beatdown of the Steelers, I don't know, but I'm all for it)

Definites:
Giants/Dolphins (confirmed since it's the game in England)
Colts/Pats (one of these teams could move to the AFL and they'd still find a way to make them play each other until every single person connected to the rivalry is dead)

Slo/anyone else interested, did you hear what T-Jack did at the Senior Bowl? Apparently he drove down two hours just to have lunch with the Vikes staff and get about 25 minutes to discuss offseason training. That's dedication right there. Unless Brad is planning on making a move to trade for Calvin (doesn't seem likely, too aggressive, makes too much sense, Chilly doesn't like first round WRs), we should hype the possibility of drafting Quinn at 7 to trade down a few spots. Or try to work out a deal to trade down with San Fran or Pittsburgh for Alan Branch and snag a 2nd or a 3rd rounder.

Mmm, it's gonna be a long offseason. My current offseason wish is for the Vikes to trade up (1st/3rd) with the Bucs or Browns to get Calvin Johnson, and then Greg Olsen in the early 2nd. Man, we need some friggin targets for the T-Jack.

I'd be fine with taking Quinn if he's there at 7. I'd also love it if Gaines Adams or Jamaal Anderson are there. I think our team would be 200% better if we had a decent pass rush. I'd rather see us address WR at 39, or try to trade up/down for either Olsen or Miller. I don't like the idea of mortgaging the draft for CJ when TJack is a year or two from servicability.
