I remember hearing Pittsburgh players saying the same thing some years back...that after the Browns franchise moved to Baltimore, they still considered the Browns-become-Ravens to be the main rival. The Clevland Browns were non-existent for three years, and then the new Browns team had no connection to the old franchise except for the name.teruterubozu said:...for maybe a couple of years after 1996, since they were pretty much all Browns players after the move.
But it's pretty much a whole different scenario now.
Spectral Glider said:The Bengals need a few more winning seasons before there's a true rivalry. So, yeah, I think Baltimore/Pitt is a bigger one. I had much euphoria when the Steelers knocked them out of the playoffs the year after they won the super bowl. And, actually, NE/Pitt is currently a bigger rivalry than Cinci/Pitt. I don't think Cinci/Pitt was ever really that big of one. Going back through the years Pitt/Cleveland, Pitt/Houston and Pitt/Raiders were much, much bigger.

How is that possible? I spend about a maximum of 5 minutes picking my games and I certainly won't have 10% of the information Simmons would have (considering that is his job) and yet I feel the worst I will do is 9-6 for a given week.

You guys need to stop taking advantage of FMT's loyalty to his team with these bets. It's not right.
FMT are we still down for the 20 bet on the vikings/niners game?
i'd like to up it if that is cool with you

In the previous Bengals-Steelers game , the NFL ruled that Bengals middle linebacker Odell Thurman had been tripped into Roethlisbergers knee, but Roethlisberger called it a little dirty at the time. On Thursday, he didnt recall that.
When I heard that I was kind of taken aback, Roethlisberger said. I dont ever remember crying about it. Its not really my style. I didnt think it was a dirty hit when he did hit me and I would never, even if I did think something was dirty, come out and say it was dirty. So, it kind of threw me for a loop when Coach Lewis said that, because I dont expect that coming from him. But, hey, thats the way he felt, and hes entitled to his opinion, and thats fine.

After the Giants gave up 8 against the Eagles this may be the first time ever that the Texans are not leading that category after week two.

Past winners of the Easy Ed McCaffrey Memorial "Best Random White WR Who Has A Great Fantasy Season" award include Ricky Proehl, Drew Bennett, Marc Boerigter and Kevin Curtis. And maybe it's early, but it looks like we already have a runaway favorite for the 2006 crown ... that's right, Mr. Mike Furrey! Is there a dorkier touchdown hookup in recent NFL history than Kitna-to-Furrey? He's getting in the end zone this week, mark my words.
skinnyrattler said:I think the worst part of last year was the TO situation kinda forcing our hand with Westbrook. It didn't seem like a typical deal they normally make. He's great but won't survive a season. Then we give him 25 million? It just doesn't make sense. This year just reaffirms my suspicions. He'll be like this forever. I hope we can get a dominant, pure runner in the next few years that's durable.
How is Steelers week been in Cincy so far? I find it humorous that the entire city gets geeked up to lose to the Steelers every year. Notice how there is no Bengals week on the Steelers calender.

Someone want to tell me how Mr. Vick didn't break his ankle, foot, or tear an achilies on this? Millions of Dirty Bird fans were nearly subjected to Matt Schaub as their field general for the rest of the year.
Just saying that shot of the play looks REALLY ugly. We've seen people get carted off for lesser crap.tmdorsey said:Just like how offensive linemen don't break their ankles or legs on every play when they are in the trenches with defensive linemen.

Isn't killing a guy a personal foul? And I assume the eating of one's heart falls under taunting.MaestroRyan said:grossman = 8 passing TDs, thomas jones and benson combine for 600 yards on the ground, urlacher kills johnson/bollinger and then rips chester taylor's heart out of his chest and eats it. nathan vasher = 2 FG returns for TDs. brad childress = 3 tantrums, 2 press conference breakdowns, 1 suicide. mewelde moore = 1 good play that sparks hope followed by a wrist injury. chad greenway = retirement
that is how the game will look

Keep in mind that Westbrook is having knee problems and may be limited.
