Official NFL Week 3 Thread: Return of King Alex

Hey guys,
I heard a big game is on tonight. Tony K. said Saints fans wouldn't really mind if their team lost tonight. They are just happy to be there...at a site that epitomized what was wrong with the events of 1 year ago.

Are you kidding? **** naw, they want a win. He tried to be real somber when saying that on Sportscenter today. Jesus ****ing Christ, Tony K is out of his element. I wish I saw that first set of MNF games with the B team of Jaws et company. I really missed out. I guess they'll be around for the Thanksgiving games.

I'm having no luck with TE's in either FF league I'm in (GAF 1 and EA). I do trade VD to FMT for Shaun (thankfully), but I've been meh at that postition since. Picked up Mili figuring he'd get some catches till Stevens came back. OOPS, he's injured. Can't think of who I have.

EA league, I actually DO have VD...Had to drop Norwood to try and pick up a TE (think he's NO's TE actually). If my WR's and RB can all get going at the same time...

Hey LS are you gonna be able to hook me up with that Avatar for Wellington? If not I'm just gonna have to pick one. Sooner the better I wan him to feel the burn asap! :)

So why did Burress get benched in that NY/Seattle game? Did they give a reason besides poor play? I mean, why not bench Manning too after his first two picks? I hope he actually did something behavior-wise to get benched... of course, then Shockey should probably get benched every other week as well.

Not going to be able to go home for another hour, and depending on what's going on at home, who knows. I'll post back here when I get home. I've got visions of Dancing Holgrem intermixed with Manning Face.

Levious: I am of the opinion that both Shockey and Burress should be benched until they learn to play with the team. Costly drops, tips for ints, and fumbles from the two of 'em played a large part in that game. The offense seemed to function with them on the bench in the fourth.

Lone: He's already posted what pics he wants to be in the avatar (I think they are in the last page). If you can't do it I may just ask my bro to put them together.

Wellington: I'd just like to note that yesterday's result is divine punishment for your failure to acquire madden ps2 even after pimping it so.

ahhh ;(

I'll still think I'll make my design, but I'll try to get what you said done first (when did I become the Avatar creator guy??? Come on guys, my skillz are Tim Carter-like!)

Oh man if you can make it fancy and hardcore like that ...that'll be great! :)

Likely. :( Blame my lack of monies and 1up sending me games I can't trade in. :(

Gruden announced that Gradkowski will be the starter for the Bucs for now.. looking forward to seeing what the kid can do.

I don't post in this thread too much as it is more entertaining to read than contribute. But:

It is a ****ing shame that in a season that the Texans have sold more season tickets that at anytime in history, when the fans have actually embraced Mario Williams that they come out playing like a damned high school team. There is no effort on the field, the defensive plays that are called seem like they are picked at random, the offense is stale, the players don't care, it is pathetic!

We have regressed to being the worst Texans team ever. We were better last year when we ended the season 2-14! Atleast in most of those games we were in it until the end of the game! Now we are blown out by halftime. Just so pathetic that I am in a totally shitty mood here at work and really don;t want to deal with anyone up here at work.

Time for our new defensive coordinator to be shown the door. He has no clue at all. I should have known when Dunta Robinson was not put on the Eagles best WR that we were in trouble. Well, atleast Carr is playing better. But now everything else has fallen apart. Bring on the NBA!!!!

Shockey and Burress are the perfect example of a lot of talent and almost no brains.

Me and other Steelers fans have been saying this for years, but once Burress has one good game everyone is willing to forget all the bad ones.

Hey the Bengals uniforms have new stripes:

I find it surprisingly easy to give up on the Lions. I watched maybe two minutes total. I think everyone else is catching on too.

The LieDowns have been meaning less and less to me for years. No emotion attached to them at all.

MSU however is a whole different story.

Eat shit. Of course, for every football fan, the FIRST thing you think about is divisional records. That'll surely dictate who makes the playoffs. Not the overall record. The overall record can't possibly be any simpler than the leap you have to make to think about divisional records. /endreplytostupidshit

That'll be the dumbest thing I read today. Thanks DouchyZ, you're the best.

Hahaha...Guess I was right. And yep, wining the division doesnt matter, I mean your more worried about the Bears record right? Like I said, I can just tell your from philly, only you idiots think like this.

Sports Radio KJR (Seattle) and ESPN are reporting that Shaun Alexander is out indefinately with a broken foot. Let's see if Maurice Morris can fill the void until Shaun gets back.

NO! My fantasy team!

Oh wait I have Warrick Dunn on the bench. :D Good then, Madden curse LIVES.

it's already begun. somebody should have tried to warn him

It looks that way, but Shaun has been pretty ineffective in the first three games. I'm not trying to play this down, he is a crucial component to this team and I hope he can return ASAP, but sadly he hadn't done a whole hell of a lot early on.

For what it's worth, Jon Kitna is looking pretty good, really. Unfortunately, your Lions have a lot of problems... It's just that your QB isn't one of them, IMHO.

Shaun apparently has a crack in his foot that was acquired in the game against Arizona. Sounds like he'll be out a month. Thank God we have a bye one of those weeks.

has there ever been a scenario where a player has:

-appeared on Madden
-lost the Super Bowl previous year AND
-is cloudy's favorite player

i wonder what would happen

was listening to some espn radio on the way back home and i heard schokey's apology for calling out the coach yesteday. then of course the media had to make it a big deal so micheal or kay whoever it was that was the host...started complaining that shockey is a wuss for not standing up to his comments and how he lost respect for shockey. wtf...he calls out the coach and he was wrong so he apologized. what else do u want? then he says shockey should have never called the coach out and it was cowardice of him to say so in the first place.

god these analysts are morons.

Let's not find out. I don't want Konex anywhere near my Seahawks.

edit: It's officially a foot fracture.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's ok though...our 4 WR spread offense is gonna be hard to stop.

Reigning NFL MVP Out Indefinitely
Is it the Madden cover jinx? Seahawks star Shaun Alexander, the latest to grace the cover of the game, is the latest to get hurt. Alexander is out indefinitely with a broken foot. Seattle (3-0) is at Chicago (3-0) Sunday. Story

:o

Just put Jackson, Branch and Engram in there in Shaun's place. It's all good.

Turn ESPN radio off. I only listen to about 20 minutes of Mike and Mike in the morning, and that's it. With the amount of ****in commercials, getting 20 minutes is even freaking hard to do. ESPN radio blows just like the TV channel.

That is the scary ass combination!

Edit: I think Carson Palmer might be the next Madden/Victim
