And with Dark Knight, should we start taking out a % of its total to discount how much of its gross was from IMAX just to make it fair?
And as others have said, on the international scene: 1.8 billion is a lot more than 1 billion. No 3d premiums or slight inflation is going to make Dark Knight come anywhere near that kind of number.
Dark Knight was the first movie in over a decade to have a shot at taking down Titanic domestically, and nothing came close on the worldwide scale. Now here comes Avatar and just knocks down everything in its path. Hate the movie or not, it has made and earned all of its money.
