Holy %@#& ao kiji's ice age is much more powerful in the anime! I delete chapters to keep the anime as fresh as possible but I only remember him freezing a 'road' in the ocean! His voice actor rocks too (fraga from SEED and kuryonagi from yakitate).

I'm nor sure I like the frog though... he doesn't play a big part anyway so who cares. next episode: WATER 7!!!

I wonder how they'll handle filler here. There has to be a mini filler arc or something. As much as I love water 7, I think dragging out this arc with filler will lower its quality in anime form. That's the only way they'll stay behind the manga though so I can't complain. :'(

At a licensing convention last year, where 4Kids revealed a first look at One Piece, a version of the Japanese opening with English vocals was played. However, 4Kids used an original rap opening in the broadcast version. What made you consider this opening over the other one?

Yeah, well.. we liked it, we thought it was good. And we thought it was going to be something that'd have a lot of popularity. There wasn't anything more to it than that.

he's been asking for help for weeks now but still no dedicated irc channel with bots or a better site/tracker. What's interesting here is that he doesn't even get mentioned in arlong park. It's like he doesn't exist. It's pretty pathetic seeing a One Piece fansite ignore a subber just so they get a '%' next to their nicks on the 'main' group's irc channel or whatever the reason.

Sort of an odd one there, it's also the same in manga, so it's not some mistake by the animators. I think with Luffy, as we've seen before, his feet can be exposed underwater without him losing power to his body or in his feet.

Been awhile since I've thought about it, but IIRC water doesn't cause someone to lose their powers, they just can't float/swim in it without assistance. Now, SEASTONE will cause someone to lose their powers.

Yeh, I saw the 233 raw the other night. Can't say I'm too impressed either, I think the seiyuu in question is a great talent and all, but doesn't quite fit Franky. The moment you hear him, you'll probably almost immediately think Bon Clay, with a deeper pitch.

Which doesn't really go that well with a macho ship dismantler. But I'll try and reserve my judgement somewhat, until Franky actually fully reveals himself. Anyways, the next episode should be massive, the crew is about to run riot over at the Franky House.

148 is out. I have to say I really loved this episode, too. There's something nostalgic about this episode for some reason that I can't put my finger on.

There's something nostalgic about this episode for some reason that I can't put my finger on.

It actually has a good story in it unlike the last god knows how many episodes. Wacky and interesting One Piece-ish characters. Awesome animation. Beautiful locations. Promises of a great adventure in a mysterious land in the sky. This episode is 100% One Piece awesomeness.

OP is at its best in these kind of arcs. Going into the grand line for the first time, drum island, the mermens, etc...

Arabasta's dragged out fights (+ uninteresting/boring land) and the following filler bring it down to the usual 'ok' anime quality.
