Episode 128 due tonight at midnight. (no promises) Also a re-release of 127 is out.

"We fixed a mistake found at 15:52, "withholding" was misspelled as "witholding".

Yeah, the right spelling looks stranger than the previous spelling, but that's the english language for you.

So, I would recommend redownloading the episode, but it is certainly not a matter of life and death."

According to this week's Shonen Jump, there will apparently be a filler arc directly following the conclusion of the Davy Back Fight, whether or not that covers the
Ao Kiji confrontation
, I don't know... I'd assume so.

Supposedly the filler will follow the plot of the PSone game One Piece: Ocean's Dream, in which the Strawhat crew lose their memories on a mysterious island. No indication on how long the filler will last, but I'd say it'll be fairly lengthy, to put some real space in-between the manga, before Water 7 begins.

LQ scan of chapter 353 is out.

Flashback heavy chapter, with Tom's character being fleshed out more. It seems that Tom help build Gold D. Roger's ship, not sure if it was intended to be Pluton or not. Later the world government arrests & puts Tom on trail & sentenced him to death.

I swear to god, I don't check this thread for two weeks and you guys are doing it again.

DO NOT ASK FOR PMs. DO NOT ASK FOR THE GROUP'S NAME OR MENTION THEIR NAME. THIS SHOW IS LICENSED.

If I catch you guys doing anything of this sort, I WILL ban you for 2-3 weeks.

I'm hoping this flashback doesn't guarantee Franky joining the crew. I hope it's sheds more light on G.D Roger's and Tom's workers history. And for the gargantuan length of the Skypiea arc, not be as long as Norland's and Calgara's flashback.
So he sings and is a shipwright, I still want Paulie.

Paulie is a boring Smoker clone. Yes, we know Franky is ugly - but he's just a much more interesting character

IMO, anyway.

But he's probably too old? He's 34 years old.

Looks like the anime will skip over the
Aokiji confrontation, with the Strawhat crew setting sail from Long ring long land, right after the conclusion of the Davy Back Fight & go straight into the filler arc.

I guess, the anime team would like to introduce Aokiji closer to Water 7, so it'll flow into that arc better than having him show up a few weeks earlier.

So it sounds like this Saturday morning's One Piece is going to be Sanji's debut. Guess what those assholes at 4Kids decided they should call the episode.

"King of the Busboys"

...

How insulting.

Aside from sounding derogatory, let's break this down for a second.

Swing and a Miss #1 - Sanji would much rather be a prince than a king. He's even said so.

Swing and a Miss #2 - He's not a busboy. He's ASSISTANT HEAD CHEF. Would you walk up to the assistant head chef at any 3 star restaurant and dare call him a "busboy?" I don't think so.

Swing and a Miss #3 - HE'S 19 YEARS OLD. Aside from not being his profession, calling him a busboy is incredibly demeaning. I mean "maitre d'" or even "waiter" would still be incorrect, but at least it wouldn't be so belittling.

Way to introduce one of the Straw Hats, 4Kids. By making him sound like a jackass. Good work. I mean, let's compare.

Japanese title: "The Famous Cook! Sanji of the Floating Restaurant"

US title: "King of the Busboys"

Why didn't they just call him "King of Cooks" if they were going to be hokey about it? What in the blue hell would compel them to call him a busboy?

I'm really starting to wonder if they actually understand Japanese or if they're just making guesses by what they think is going on on-screen.

Judging from the front page, it seems episode 129 is being released tonight at midnight.

Their irc channel though says 129 might be released tonight. Usually by this time it says OP in 3.5 hours or something like that.

*prays*

i think that's supposed to refer to luffy
Hmm...you know, I hadn't even thought about that (though it DOES make a lot more sense as a title). But doesn't that make it even worse? I mean, you have an episode in which a MAJOR character makes his debut and you name the episode after a relatively minor plot point?

That's even MORE insulting. :lol

OKAMA WAY!!!!!

That was an awesome, awesome episode. That's it. I'm reading the manga after episode 130. :D

So do we get to know more about this Hina and her ability? She looks pretty cool but Smoker is still my favorite Marine. Come to think of it though we're just starting to see the interesting Marine characters. Before the grand line they didn't count much and it was mostly pirates. There needs to be more though!

Time to go to sleep now. I'm typing this with two pain-relieving gel patches on my neck/left shoulder and sitting like a zombie. =\

This episode made me feel so much better though. XD

Sadly,
not much development. I think Smoker and Hina may show up in an unrelated scene once or twice, but that's it.

Anime eps
130-143: Filler
144-152: Jaya Arc. More like a leadup to Skypiea, but there is some important marine and Shichibukai stuff going on in the background.
153-195: Skypiea Arc. There are definitely some fun elements to this arc, but it has little to no connection to existing plot threads.
196-206: Filler

Following that, in manga terms...

Davyback Fight: Good stuff, but fluff. Basically the single funniest event in OP
Mystery Battle: Short but important
Water 7: Lots of interesting developments and several potential new crewmembers, but as it's still going on we have no idea about most connections to the characters previously known in the series other than the main cast. Despite that, it does give this serious "Akatsuki" vibe where the whole OP world seems to grow in scope yet again, and will possibly make parts of Skypiea more important in the grand scheme of things.

Hmm...just flipped through the newest issue of Shonen Jump US and it has a couple details on the OP anime.

They didn't mention a name change for Sanji, so that should stay in-tact, at least. As for his voice, who knows. Baratie will be called "Bistro of the Brine" (ugh.....4Kids could at least TRY not to make things sound retarded). And Zeff will be called "Red Shoes the Pirate." I don't know if they'll even bother using his real name or not, or if that's just a substitute for his nickname.

...Wouldn't it have just been easier to call it Baratie? I mean, it IS written on the sign outside.

I mean, it's one thing to edit for content to make it "acceptible" for kids, but sooooooo many of 4Kids' edits have been totally nonsensical.

And that episode rocked.
I'm going to miss Vivi. :(

New manga chapter is out.

.... *sniff* my eyes got watery just by reading that. One Piece is fucking great. *sniff*

Great chapter!
Poor Franky, abandoned as a child, though I guess he fits the almost parentless mold of the Strawhat crew. Heh, is that a young Paulie on the last panel of page 17? I'm pretty sure that's Kiwi & Mozu on the second last page.

I wonder if this Tom flashback will lead into how Franky died & how he was revived, did Tom rebuild him & hide the Pluton blueprints within his body? And how do the Square sisters fit in with Franky, they definitely aren't related & don't seem to know each from the flashback.

Hina powers:
She's called "The Black Cage" because she wraps any person she touches in a cage made of unbreakable iron. If I remember correctly, the cage also saps Devil Fruit powers; hence, she was called in to subdue and transport Crocodile. She's like a little Marine trump card for rogue devil fruit types.

Damn, that's disappointing, especially considering who's birthday it is today. :(

Hold the phone.... ep 130 may make it tonight.

Do it for Robin-chan!

130 is officially delayed until midnight tomorrow. ;_;

Which makes me wonder. If they were close to releasing it tonight, why wait a further 24 hours, just so they can release at midnight tomorrow?

I'm sure they've released previous episodes at different times, other than midnight. So why are they so hung up on releasing at that particular time, when they could release it in the late afternoon or at 8 or at 9pm. I don't mean to bitch, but it just strikes me as odd. :/

I wonder if 130
brings Robin into the crew
or if that is delayed until the end of the filler arc (which I thought was going to start with 130)?

One Piece 130 in four minutes.

just saw episode 129 (yah I know i'm late) but then, why did I feel sad about that. :(

ORIN I NEED YOUR OP FROM WAY BACK... THE ONE WHERE THEY HAVE THEIR ARMS RAISED FOR VIVI!!! :D

Another episode with plenty of funny.

It feels so strange to be out of Arabasta.

And the reactions to Robin were great. Especially Usopp. "Everybody please disembark at once!"

Ah, a good episode of One Piece before an all nighter is exactly what I needed. :D

So Nico Robin's dream is to discover the 'true history' or whatever. I really do hope we get to see that. Zorro's dream of being the best swordsman, for example, doesn't have an end while Nico's does so we should see it.

And holy #%&$ Pell is alive!? I don't mind it that much; I guess One Piece is still a shounen anime really...

Great episode, a tad strange to hear 'memories' after such a long time. :P But it's good to finally see the
crew leave Arabasta behind & have Robin join, at long last. (btw, where was she hiding all that time? seems like the cabin & half of the ship had been flooded)

Heh, Robin/Luffy's, Chopper impression had me rolling. :lol

Well it'll be a bit of a wait until Jaya starts, so bring on the filler.

Ok... question on episode 130... When Robin and the King was talking about the Poneglyph giving us the history, the King was gonna ask something like "...so what have we been..." then it gets interrupted when Luffy carried him and Robin out of the tomb.

So what was the question about? Could you guys tell me without any manga spoilers... thanks.
