Yeah, I wish we didn't have to do that, but we were told in no uncertain terms that the cover was showing too much cleavage for the game to be stocked on store shelves. Welcome to puritanical America, I guess!
At least it was just the cover art, though. And we included a reversible cover to help make up for that.

Guess it's a video game restriction, imagine if Sports Illustrated had to do that. XD
Sadly I don't think i'll be buying any of the DLC for this as fast as I'm going through this game I'll have plowed my way to the Platinum trophy in no time.
Personally, I'd recommend finishing the story mode in all difficulties first. The ring you get when you finish Berserk difficulty makes everything else so much easier, even the no boss damage stuff. You get new costumes too.Trying to decide if I should finish the Hard missions, start the Hard campaign with Japanese language, or grind out the no damage stuff so I can unlock those other costumes.
There's DLC? This is why I prefer how Idea Factory International does DLC--just throw it all out there day 1 if it's already finished for Japan. I almost never come back to games for DLC but I'll but it if I want it when I'm playing.
Tom - any word on the DLC release schedule?
Yeah, it is. Basically a holdover of the belief that "video games are for kids," so one can't display anything on a store shelf that's too racy for wee little eyes!

Looks like the first batch is planned for next week. We'll be releasing it bit by bit every two weeks.

This game isn't shit.
Considering I felt like Bikini Samurai Squad had murdered my family after I played it, I'm pretty pleased with this one.
This game isn't shit.
Fun tip: Kagura's sub weapon can be charged while doing other attacks! Sort of like Zero's buster/sword in the Mega Man Zero games or UMVC3. Wish I noticed that earlier, her "mash circle" attacks with it are pretty fun.

You are getting her down. Saki can also cancel her attacks to charge her counters too.
There are a few system buried in the game.
I'm not so sure some of this stuff are actual systems rather than just being able to exploit the shit out of how the game works.

I still don't get how Saki's counters work, I could only ever get one to connect, unless enemies have to actually keep attacking for the circle "combo" to work
It's totally intentional, otherwise they'd just disable the charging when you dash-cancel the stand-still charge for Kagura.
One of dem bosses is her. Technically.Does anyone miss Reiko?
Yeah, this game is a lot of fun.
Not specifically talking about that. There are other ways to exploit the shit out of how the game handles things like scoring, damage ect..... If someone was bored enough it would be a trival thing to just grind out points and get top spot on all the leaderboards.
I'm talking stuff like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXhTWt0BLto
Bwahahaha that's great. I played around a bit but I never got this adventurous
Actually that reminds me a lot of little big planet somehow
Oh yeah, the scoring system is totally abusable. For instance any boss can be farmed for infinite score due to requiring a QTE finisher. Just keep comboing them through the animation and so on.
Yup. And even if you don't have a boss you can do that Aya dagger thing that I posted and get 1000+ combos in like 30 seconds.
One of dem bosses is her. Technically.
What's the timing/trick to that anyway?
I'm sure you do it that way for a reason, but if you can share, I'd love to hear an elaboration on the drip-feeding strategy.
I'm not the one to ask -- far as I know, it's just the way this sort of thing is done! I think it has something to do with keeping the game in the news and on the PSN front page a little longer, maybe? I dunno.
Either way, I passed your feedback along to the rest of the company at yesterday's game meeting, as you brought up some good points. I suggested we re-evaluate this DLC release strategy for future titles, and it sounded like we probably will. Not saying we definitely won't release DLC for other games like this, but we'll at least do a bit more due diligence in questioning the approach before simply settling on it.
