Easily the best emulator solution on OS X. Nothing else comes close.

They're working on Dolphin and Reicast integration, too, so get hype.

God Retroarch is such a pain in the ass to get set up. Can't even run PS1/N64 games without the entire thing crashing.

The N64 core is iffy, although N64 emulation in general is iffy. As for PSX, as long as you put the BIOS files in a place it can find, it should run fine.

Are any consoles new compared to the old Experimental build? I think most of these have been in that build for quite a while but not sure.

gingerbeardman, I've never been able to run any game with this. I can't find others who have experienced similar issues. any tips?

They've polished up a lot from the Experimental build (for instance, you can savestate PSX games now! And there's support for multidisc games!)

Try https://github.com/OpenEmu/OpenEmu/wiki or https://github.com/OpenEmu/OpenEmu/issues

But let us know here what you're trying and where it's failing.
Start with something easy like a NES/MD/SNES ROM.

version 2.0.1

Everything else on screen still looks the same. No added consoles.
Try Preferences > Cores > Install

Like literally load up whatever.nes, double-click...

Nothing happens. No black screen, no crash, literally nothing happens. All cores installed and whatnot. What should I submit to have it fixed if technically nothing is happening?
I'm just a user, not a member of the OpenEmu team. But before you file an issue let's try some things. I have PM'd you.

looks lovely, i'll be able to save ps1 games now (it previously ran the ps1 but you couldn't do saves states)
I will have to upgrade to El Captain though which does not make me happy

The N64 core is iffy, although N64 emulation in general is iffy.

Which is a surprise, considering so many beloved and popular titles are on that system. I've heard pretty much nothing about any advancements in N64 emulation in years (Project 64 seems kinda dead, for example). What happened?

Holy shit, real-time gameplay rewinding? That's such an excellent feature in Rare Replay. I'm glad to see it make its way here

Been using this since release. Great application with a beautiful UI. Updated to 2.0 just now, so thanks for the thread, OP.

If you want a decent N64 emulation solution, you won't find any luck with either RetroArch or OpenEmu.

Here's what you need:

Emulator: Project 64 2.2.0.3

GPU Plugins: GlideN64, Glide64 Final, z64gl, along with the default Jabo.

Sound Plugins: Azimer's XA2 Audio 0.70 WIP 4, Azimer's HLE Audio 0.60 WIP 2, Shunyuan's HLE audio, along with the defaulr Jabo.

Pj64 allows you to save different plugins per game. So you have to test which combination works the best for every game. With these plugins i can play my whole collection (50+ games) with minimal problems. And i'm pretty picky, i won't allow even the slightest sound crackling.

With this, even hard to emulate games like World Driver Championship can work, although this one has a few graphics glitches.

In other words, you need to make it work by yourself.
