Great. Just like contrast.
Awesome.
Awesome.
Again, the game has complexity, online co-op, leaderboards, different ships.
If someone could say exactly what Outlast has to it, it might be easier to talk about.
It's not very complex at all, The game is all atmosphere.
It's super super linear and if you get caught it just resets you to the beginning of the current objective.
Collect batteries, use night vision, push a couple of levers and get to the exit.
Outlast is an 8-12hour game, with fantastic visual and sound design. There is a story told through the collection of documents and recording events via a video camera. The game has both stealth and chase elements, and has a small cast of characters that you learn about throughout the experience. The platinum requirement seems completely arbitrary in this case, as the game is fairly involved. In any case I don't know why a stupid trophy (or lack thereof) would persuade someone to skip a game?

No Platinum?
Sony still keeping the indie dev down. Even MS has dropped it's previous restriction on XBLA game achievements.
It's been said but all games should be treated the same if on PSN. It's not like this is on PSmobile or something.

Terrible Sony. The devs must have been pretty insulted when Sony paid them to put this game on PS+
8 - 12 hours? That's a surprise, I thought it would be around 3 hours. And I don't give a damn about platinum trophies!
I'd be shocked if Sony had any input on what devs do for trophies. Consider that Contrast is nothing but 21 bronze trophies: does that sound like something Sony had input on?
It says IN insane mode, so is there an insanity meter perhaps? It doesn't read like its related to game difficulty.
I'm guessing it is a difficulty level,
They added harder difficulties in the PC version in an update, which I think made enemies do more damage and gave you less flashlight batteries and such.
Feel free to go further!Sony do not have input on what developers put in their games (besides a few no brainers), but there are rules regarding Large and Small scope games. There is also basic maths that you use to work out how many Trophies you can have in a game, and limits to how many of a certain Trophy type you can have (linked to the maths part). I would go into it further, but nobody seems to be listening anyway.
Is this game long? Usually non-platinum games aren't.

This game isn't really that long, I watch speed runners beat this game 100% glitchless catagorie in about 1 hr & 30 min or so. Carnage64 is the first person that comes to mind.
No Platinum no buy.
But it's free for ps+, so I'm gonna play it anyway, I guess.

The game was way longer than I thought it would be, took us like 10 hours or so.
This is good news for me. 8-12 hours is past my sweet spot for games, I like. 5 hour experiences. Shorter is better for me.I should clarify that it took my brother and I about 10 hours, but we like to explore every nook and cranny and get 100% completion, so mileage will vary. I had a look at this website called http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=13407
and it puts the length at a around the 5 hour mark for the 'main story', with 'complete' at 8 and a half hours. So it's not a short game, especially for a horror title.
Woah, hey! I'm hanging on the edge of my seat here! Though, I will say I think Resogun copped a Platinum out. It's for fucking finally someone to tell us how trophies work. Now we can stop pestering developers about it. They probably couldn't tell us either =/Sony do not have input on what developers put in their games (besides a few no brainers), but there are rules regarding Large and Small scope games. Platinum Trophies for games are so random these days.
You underestimate the shit-your-pants-in-a-safe-spot time for the unseasoned horror game player.
I am the exact opisite on trophies now.
I have nearly 2000 of the things. Thats enough. It looks like I am a crazy person.
I actually stopped playing Guacamelee because it was giving me a trophy every time I took 2 steps.
