Considering hes what got the ball rolling for third party characters I think thats a little unfair.
He was the first character to be revealed... but Sonic was way bigger.

His own control scheme would make sense. It would at least make him stand out compared to Mario and Luigi, who are essentially the Ryu and Ken of Smash (just look at their movesets and you can see the shoto inspiration).Ryu in Smash would be cool. I wonder how they'd go about his inputs. Would they convert them to Smash controls or give him a gimmick where he does quarter-circles and stuff?
I am happy with this. now if only we get Square Enix to have the Black Mage from FF series in.
Pac Kirby looks like someone's creepy uncle (shudders).
yeah but iirc u can use it up to 3 times in 3 different angles or something (ir someone mentioning it u can change directions or something like that at the round table)

No damnit, no more third parties!
It's iconic
Oh my god just saw this on tumblr hahahah
Nowhere near as such as Sonic, Pac-Man or Mega-Man!
But more than Snake I would say. Honestly while Snake was cool, he was out of place in the universe.
Perfect.
He's probably an unlockable character and Sakurai doesn't reveal unlockable characters like Luigi and Jiggs.
Maybe Ridley is an unlockable character too...
BELIEVE
What about the Mappy trampoline?
Sakurai.... What do I need to do for you to confirm Snake is back.... ;¬;
Sakurai said he did not want to expand the roster,
Go back in time because he is not going to be there. Brawl had 39 and Sakurai said he did not want to expand the roster, so the most we are getting is 40 and 35 of the slots are taken up (including the leaks).
Good lord these new characters are LAME.

It happened.
Just missing another blue bomberman in that pic.
=(

Sakurai said similar things about Melee's line up being the "limit" before Brawl. If this game really ends up with a line up around Brawl's own, it'd be really disappointing, considering how the main fighting engine seems unchanged, aside from balance tweaks, and this game doesn't even have something like Subspace Emissary.
Smash is too Japan-centric for Rayman. Bomberman, though, I would be thrilled to see.
I don't care about Rayman, but it'd be cool if they had a "guest stars" list representing major Japanese publishers.
SEGA -> Sonic
Capcom -> Mega Man
Konami -> Simon Belmont
Namco -> Pac-Man
Squaresoft -> Terra or Chrono
Tecmo -> Ryu Hayabusa
Hudson -> Bomberman
Bomberman, Simon and Ryu are iconic characters from the NES era. Terra / Chrono are beloved characters from the SNES-era Squaresoft. It'd be cool to have them in Smash.

I never really found the Ghostly Adventures Pac-Man design too offensive, but seeing it next to the Smash design now just creeps me out.
