Haze first week being beaten by a random re-showing of RRR2? Wuh-oh.

Whats with the RRR2 bump, anyway? I've seen it around a few places for $50-ish last week, but then, shouldn't that mean it was not counted anyway?

This has been covered before. NGB give mc/gfk as their source but I have never seen the charts they post (combined PC/consoles) anywhere else. They often vary and thus we don't use them here. The ones we have (seperated) are the real deal.

Yeah but why are Wii fit and GTAIV is difference. maybe bundle?

Huh? Have you read what I posted? NGB's charts don't add up to the official ones, that means they are in all probability bunk. Besides retailer bundling is not that common here in Germany.

WiiFits overtakes GTA4 in another region and 15/20 for Nintendo. Pure ownage.

Also take a look at the Nintendo platform games, they barely change positions at all.

So it took a couple months, but with Ireland, Spain and Italy seemingly on board the Nintendo train (or in the case of Italy and Spain at least not favouring Sony anymore), there's pretty much only New Zealand left as Sony's stronghold.

So much for that fabled three-pronged counterattack by Sony. :(
lol

Perhaps now they'll get a distributor worth a damn?

Would people in New Zealand just import their stuff from somewhere else instead, like Australia? I wonder if they'll really bother with an actual distributor in a country that has such tiny sales potential.

Who distributes for Sony and Microsoft there?

Yeah, in that link they state that the distributor responsible for Nintendo products also carried all the Activision stuff. Seems NZ is just too small to warrant more dedication.

I know that Spain and Italy have sometimes been defined as "Sony land", but i got alittle curious about how the situation has been so i took the time to go through alot of weekly PAL charts to check. I only checked Spain since that seemed to be the easiest to check (the irish chart doest separate the consoles and i'm not sure from which week the Italy chart starts from). I decided to check from week 38 in 2007 since thats when felipiko started with his charts (and later on Raist). I made a chart that shows the number of charted Nintendo platforms games (Wii and DS) VS the number of charted Sony platforms games (PS2, PS3 and PSP) in the Spain top 10.

I didnt count the PC or 360 titles since i was only interested in seeing if Nintendo "just" had started to well in Spain. To me it seems that it pretty much depends on which titles that comes out each week. Some weeks Nintendo had like 8 titles in the top 10, while maybe some weeks later Sony had more titles in the top 10. I guess you can say that Sony also has a very small advantage with having 3 systems while Nintendo has 2 systems. I didnt see that many PSP games charted though, but i did notice some. I didnt take into account on how many Nintendo or Sony platforms games that were charted at #1, i think that would have taken too much time so i only concentrated on how many titles that charted regardless in what place they charted in. In my opinion it looks like Nintendo have done pretty well in Spain for quite some time actually, but here is the chart :)

NOTE: I didnt find data from Spain in every PAL charts thread. Where i didnt find any data i just wrote 0. Week 5 and 6 (or 7) seems to be the same chart for some reason. There might be a small possibility that i counted wrong in some of the charts, but sometimes i counted twice just to be sure so i think all is correct, but i'm just saying just in case i have misscounted some of the charts :)

Softprint the Nintendo distributor has filed for receivership.

"According to one report, debtors arrived at Softprint’s door on Friday and that all of their stock has been seized. We have also received information that there are no more Wii stocks in NZ."

I was not sure if this deserved its own thread :/
Wow, a huge blow for Nintendo's worldwide domination plans. What's the size of the NZ market?
Wasn't there like 50 consoles sold last year? :D

oh snap you're right.

*checks thread* no mention of their numbers, though. Their allegiance this week remains a mystery. :p
Sony wins Portugal, I'm afraid.
