Rory is the new Tiger as EA claim No1 after a year out of the golf sim market – ‘Rory McIlroy PGA Tour’ debuts at No1 and is currently the only PS4/Xbox One golf game.

This PGA Tour game drops the year incremental in the title and drops Tiger Woods after 18 years (first was ‘Tiger Woods 99’ on PC back in Oct98). It is also the first PGA golf game to claim No1 since 2008’s ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09’ - both had similar week 1 sales. The PGA golf game series stretches back to ‘PGA Tour Golf’ on PC (Jul90) and the current version launched on Thursday 16th July, the first day of The Open. This is actually the second game in the series to launch on a Thursday – the other was ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14’ which came out on Thursday 28th March, 2013 in advance of Easter Good Friday. Codemasters’ ‘F1 2015’ (-57%) drops to No2 with Warner’s ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ down 1 to No3 (-36%).

Activision’s ‘Destiny’ climbs 4 places to No6 (+90%), one of many titles to receive a boost after the inaugural Amazon Prime Day deals. The only other new entry within the Top 40 is Sony’s ‘God of War III: Remastered’ debuting at No9 for PS4 (the original PS3 version launched back in week 11, 2010).

Batman AK holding strong at no 3 on PS4 and falling on XBO.
MCC back into top 10. WOM or were there deals in UK?

Pretty decent for GoW3 considering how bad deal it is, any other remasters this gen to compare? Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row?

I know it makes your dick hard, but this is how it usually is.

I actually bought Batman today, looking very much forward to starting it.
What the hell is your problem? I am reposting the splits like other people in every single topic every single week.

Calm down with the insults, buddy. How does sales data not belong in a sales thread?

Is software split in line with hardware split or even bigger in favor of PS4?

Seems to be more in favor of PS4 for most recent releases than the actual sales gap in UK. But it's hard to say when we never get Xbox One numbers.

lol wtf dude we tend to post these splits in every multiplate new release
@Loudninja you done goofed

OT: GOW3 is doing well for a remaster
what is the next big new release?

This can probably be explained by people with both consoles buying multi platform games on PS4. This must be very worrying for MS going forward.

Seems a little early in the generation for that many people to own both consoles.

I'd argue the dual owner numbers are still relatively low and will remain relatively low for at least a couple more years yet.

Should we be hearing about XB1 reaching the 2 million milestone soon? I remember they lagged behind PS4 about 2 months when reaching 1 million units, but that was ramping up to the busy holiday season.

MS doesn't really give out sales numbers anymore.

The splits are also not much more in favor of the PS4 than the UK sales gap would the suggest, so it doesn't need that many multi-console owners to buy the PS4 version before we see numbers like the recent releases.

Could be, but I would think early adopters would be the most active gamers and are likely to pick up both consoles and there has been some great deals this year. This is all guess work I am not sure we would ever be able to get a solid number on this.

I can't believe a significantly large enough number of people own both to account for the discrepancy, no matter how small. Even in generations past where there where more exclussives to warrent owning multiple systems, it was very unusual for people to have more than one.

I would have thought it more likely a demographic issue, hence why shooters and more child/casual friendly titles tend to do better on XO than expected with the hardware ratio that exists, while more niche and enthusiast targeted titles mostly sell disproportionately better on PS4.

all are exclusives i was more interested in multiplates anyway Rare collection should do well but am not sure about Gears

I think Gears is going to great for MS, you can preorder for under £25. I think it will sell very well on release.

Mulitiplatform titles coming up: Disney Infinity 3.0, Madden 16 and Dishonored all Aug 28th. September is when the big titles start releasing.

Although God of War is not an strong IP in the UK, the sales of God of War III Remaster looks mediocre at best, they are probably in the same range of sales as DmC: Definitive Edition or even a less.

I hope one of them enjoys their single week at number 1.

Think Disney will take it out of those 3 although there is a possibility that Gears could hold on for a second week if it does well.

Until Dawn is out the same day as well.

Im glad to be honest, the less people that buy it now the quicker it will go down to its sub £20 price it should of been at at release.

is GOW:R showing IP fatigue?
Personally I'm itching for the Uncharted Collection (nearly as much as I itched for TLOU:R last year) but the GOW3:R announcement received a big yawn from me (therefor no purchase). I might have purchased it if it included the second PS3 game w/multiplayer.

Anyone who *hasn't* played GOW3 though should get right on it. It is an excellent game.

We won't know until the next mainline title is released.

I remember that people were surprised that Heavy Rain comfortably outsold God of War III.

First 2 months (UK):

Heavy Rain - 172,000
God of War III < 133,000

That can't be right. I remember distinctly GOW3 achieving over 1million copies sold month 1 on NPD alone.

edit: Though maybe you are thinking PAL charts!

Oh at that price tag then it should do well too

I think it is safe to say Disney Infinity 3.0 will be No.1 until MGSV

40 (36) 3DS MONSTER HUNTER 4 ULTIMATE (CAPCOM)

Bloodborne is gone from the charts, but Monster Hunter is still charting after 5 months of release.

what do you mean by bad deal, as in pricepoint? Does it cost more than other remasters?
It's £25 which is fairly pricey for a single, 5 year old game remaster.

SCEE's got to get on top of early pre-order pricing which was in the typical £40-50 range for ages.

Everybody was suprised that it didn't include GoW: Ascension and GOW III was one of the best looking titles on PS3 so there is no big graphical jump so the price still seems kind of high for it.

I just checked and yeah it's €40 over here. That's pricey indeed, and iirc the LoU remaster cost that much as well. €30 would be the perfect pricepoint for these remasters.
