man, No Man's Sky must make a huge profit right? made by smaller team, so I assume it must have modest budget compared to the usual AAA title.
Not up yet, I think steamspy is only accurate from two weeks after the launch.
15 team members listed at hellogames.org/about-usman, No Man's Sky must make a huge profit right? made by smaller team, so I assume it must have modest budget compared to the usual AAA title.
Bloodborne was robbed.
Had Uncharted 4 remained as number 1 since release?
Very happy for the Hello Games guys and gals!
Edit: Just remembered that Lego Star Wars has been out since U4's release. I imagine that hit number 1 on its week of release!
One can only hope Gravity Rush 2 achieves similar success.
I really want it to.
I still get so surprised when I see Minecraft STILL selling so well. Talk about milking that cow to the bone!
Outside of some internet ads, I haven't seen much marketing for NMS. I think they spent little on it. NMS had more sales potential regardless of marketing. That depressing realisation that Sony have put ten times more effort into the marketing of an indie game made by 15 people than they will into a (relatively) big-budget game made by one of their own studios. And guess which will end up being the better title too.
GfK Chart-Track doesn't consider it a new IP, it is considered as a Tom Clancy title, also The Last of Us sold fewer copies than The Division.
Taking off on Wednesday 10th August, ‘No Man’s Sky’ shoots straight to No1.
It becomes Sony’s 2nd biggest ever PS4 launch (behind Uncharted 4) and Sony’s biggest launch for a new IP on PS4. In terms of new IP across all publishers and Sony formats it sits 5th behind Destiny (PS4), Watch Dogs (PS4), The Getaway (PS2) and The Last of Us (PS3).
Huh, Blizzard have started advertising Overwatch during the football now the premier league is back. Wonder if that will have any impact.

Wow at No Man's Sky, it sold over 100,000 units!
Holy shit. It's crazy but being the 5th highest performing new IP ever on Sony's platforms *including 3rd party releases* (!!) is even more impressive.
I foresee CEX being literally swamped by thousands of used copies in less than a couple weeks.
If you're interested in the game and want it cheap, wait for that; if you got the game and want to get rid of it, act fast, last I checked CEX was giving £35 cash
