PAL Charts - Week 49, 2016

I'd probably go for 20-30k and being December hopefully 7th is about that but I'm being optimistic. More like 15-20k.

From what I read about ICO sales in the mid 2000s I was one of the few people who bought ICO at launch worldwide. SOTC picked up a bit of late hype in the US but its very niche. I'm sure total sales after 12 months will be enough.

Copy from TLG sales thread:

From PAL thread, we know FFXV sold 29k minimum combined. Using the 80/20 split from last week, and considering TLG is above FFXV PS4 but below FFXV combined, TLG will likely have sold at least between 23k-29k.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I'm sincerly surprised to see Dead Rising 4 so high, it didn't seem that anticipated, at least here on GAF.

Title change on GAF are usually on point and funny but I never would have thought that knowing TLG is the best launch for an Ueda game (and that's without digital, by the way) could irritate so much people and even mods. Bah, anyway, it's really nice to know the game was not completely ignored like Tearaway or Puppeteer. Hoping for a decent Gravity Rush 2 launch in one month :)

Yeah sad that Tearaway got completely ignore which is pretty odd.

Yeah, me too. GR2 will probably not sell as well as TLG, but maybe the fact that it actually has a presence at PSX and at European shows can help it get reasonable sales. Charting in January should be doable at least, I would think.

Dead Rising being above LG is pretty bad. Didn't seem like anyone cared for DR leading up to launch, unlike LG.

You have to remember that DR4 has more mainstream appeal than TLG. TLG would appeal more to enthusiastic gamers that are found on here (where DR4 is often shat on).

It will chart but probably not in the Top10.

That's the least we can say, in fact when we see nearly as much consumers buying TLG compared to a conservative zombie game, it's pretty flattering for TLG.

By the way, there is a pretty easy way to know The Last Guardian is clearly not far away from Dead Rising 4, since people think that comparison make any sense.

Let's take a look a the charts in value. Surprise, The Last Guardian is actually #3 by money spend behind Call of Duty. I guess Dead Rising 4 was a little less expensive in UK ?

It could have to do with there being a collectors edition for the last guardian

Pretty good then and in the Quantum Break ballpark and possibly ~6k off ROTTR XBO which were much hyped. I'd guess TLG in the US has done 140-200k like QB and ROTTR did on XBO. We don't know the budget but I doubt it costs the same or anywhere near as QB/ROTTR even with the years gone by.

Anyway. I did my bit and bought the collectors TLG.

Well, I was wrong. Welfare (and there was another user, if I am not mistaken) was right about Dead Rising 4 performing better. Kudos, sirs.

TLG outperforming its predecessors and being really close to DR4 is good enough for me.

I thought that FF was bigger here. Second week and out of Top 5.

Assuming a typical 75 - 80% drop in the second week, Final Fantasy XV would have needed to sell 55,000 - 60,000 units week one to chart in the top 5.

Final Fantasy is not that big to have such a great opening,

If last week positions and Super Mario Maker numbers are true, FFXV sold <12.000 units first week.
Last Guardian could have had a better launch than FF.

Oops, that's my mistake, he didn't say previous week positions for any game.

Isn't last guardian debut in Spain better then it's debut in UK in comparative terms. Does this gives more hope that the game will do better in mainland Europe?

should we expect % increase in all software this week based on past year trends?
Just wandering if The Last Guardian can show some increase in sales this week over last week.?

Isn't it incredibly rare for a game's sales to increase from week 1 to week 2? Or do you mean a smaller drop than usual (i.e. 50% rather than 80%)?

Dead rising has been slashed to sub £30 can be had for £27.99 so I expect dead rising to be a way smaller drop than normal due to the price crash on it I jumped in at that price.

'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' holds strong for the Christmas No.1

After its timely return to No1 last week ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ holds the crown for the Christmas Chart. In doing so it becomes the 7th Call of Duty title to hold top spot at Christmas, comfortably holding off ‘FIFA 17’, which remains at No2.

‘Battlefield 1’ also remains in third spot while ‘Watch Dogs 2’ climbs two spots to No4. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ breaks back into the Top 10 climbing to No5 marking a landmark in sales as it does so. Of the 170 weeks since it was first released, it has remained in the Top 10 for over 130.

‘Final Fantasy XV’ moves down two places to No6 ahead of another RPG ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Ed.’ up two places to No7. Retailer promotions help power a second Bethesda title ‘Dishonored 2’ nine places up to No8. Several other titles benefit from Pre-Xmas sales this week with Ubisoft’s ‘Steep’ also climbing nine places to No9.

‘Mafia III’ edges out ‘Rocket League’ for the last spot in the Top 10. ‘Overwatch’ is another title making a nine place jump with sales propelling it up to No12. Finally the addition of the Wii U version of ‘Minecraft: Story Mode – Complete Adv’ helps the title climb five places to No24.
