Activision re-take No1 with ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ racking up a ninth No1 spot since launch last year (+11%).

After last week’s big debut week at No1 for Warner’s ‘Lego Marvel Avengers’, second week sales after launch week drop 41% for this title and it sits at No2. Brand new at No3 is Bandai Namco’s long-running manga-based ‘Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4’, which makes the transition to PS4 and Xbox One for the first time and becomes the second biggest week 1 seller in the series - previous outing in this series ‘Ninja Storm 3’ also debuted at No3 (week 10, 2013 on PS3/360) and remains the week 1 best-seller in the series.

Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ jumps 11 places to No9 (+78%) due to promotional activity and Bandai Namco also take the second highest new entry this week at No11 with PS4 ‘Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’. Next of the new releases at No20 is 2K/Take2’s PC ‘XCom 2’ which is part of the Take 2 series revival that began in 2012 with ‘XCom: Enemy Unknown’ (the original concept dates back to 1994 as ‘UFO: Enemy Unknown’ for Amiga and PC, published by Microsprose). One more title debuts within the Top 40 at No34 and that's Sony’s PS4 ‘Gravity Rush Remastered’.

Gravity Rush is a niche title that is priced matched on digital so I can see a lot of people just bought it off the store.

Wouldn't want someone to feign disappointment.

Great for both Gravity Rush and Digimon! Hope they chart even higher next week.

I think you need to look at the chart again. Unless Gravity Rush gets a price cut it will be out of the chart next week. Hopefully as a budget title its getting plenty of sales via PS store.

I bought Gravity Rush, so I did my part at least.

Sony, franchises like Gravity Rush and Tearaway are never going to get anywhere if you keep sending them out to die every single time. It's probably difficult to get people hyped for GR2 when most people don't know the first game even exists.

Really happy to see Cyber Sleuth in the Top10

lol @Gravity Rush

Initial thought: Gravity Rush RE is out? Sony really doesn't give most of its first party titles a fighting chance does it?

Too much gravity, very little rush.

It received an incredibly limited release in the UK. As I said in the previous PAL thread, there were very few places you could actually pre-order the physical version until about three weeks ago when it finally started appearing on sites other than GAME. I don't know why Sony insisted on treating it like such an afterthought when there's a sequel on the way.

Yeah, this is really unfortunate because the game deserves a nice push from Sony, especially since a second title is on the way like you mentioned. I want titles like Gravity Rush to succeed so we get more of them.

Rush got pulled down by gravity.

Just another relatively popular Vita game bombing thoroughly on PS4. Doubt part 2 will do much better whenever it comes out.

Good points, also the digital and retail releases were around same price which is very rare in the UK, digital is usually £10+ more.

Glad to see Digimon do well. Though this just makes me wonder how the Vita SKU would've done if that released as well :(

Gravity Rush disappointing, though I placed a pre-order at Shopto about a week before release and still haven't gotten anything yet because they've sold out =/

Was GR actually expected to do well at retail when they were initially going to do a digital only release?

Wasn't that in NA? It's always been proposed as a retail title in Europe, iirc.

Gravity Rush bombed as expected.

Spoiler alert: GR2 will suffer the same fate.

And no I'm not glad for it, just Sony doesn't give a fuck about it, nor Tearaway. Makes you wonder why they even bothered. They can't have made much profit here if anything at all.

Of course it won't when Sony doesn't promote it. Until Dawn had to sell by word of mouth. Sony really annoys me with their marketing at times. Spend their budget marketing mutiplats and send their smaller exclusives to die. I understand the business reasons, but I still don't like it.

Happy for Digimon to actually chart. Hopefully this proves Bamco that this games are worth the shitty translation they give them and are actually released in the west.

I got GR for on my Vita from PSN+ and I play on train to and from work currently. You got to remember the game was on PSN+ for almost 2 years before Sony took it off.

Why would I and many others pay for the PS4 version?

I'm even a bit surprised that GR charted at all, it really had no chance to sell a lot of units.
So I'm going with "congrats, GR".

I've platted the vita version and still bought the PS4 version and LOVE it to tears still. It controls much better and looks amazin.

Because "many others" do not have a Vita.

Why would I and many others pay for the PS4 version?

Because there's tens of millions more PS4 owners out there than there are Vita owners.

(Not that that'll mean massive sales for a niche game like this, but the point is it's supposed to bring in a new audience that the handheld version didn't.

Plus, I'm sure there's plenty of double dippers. Like me).

Because you loved the game so much you'd want an HD version at 1080p and 60fps with minor gameplay improvements?

I mean, I'm not a fan of Gravity Rush, but the price for the remaster was extremely reasonable.

Tearaway's repeated bombing (both Vita and PS4 versions) and now this, says to me these games don't have a big fanbase. Marketing is not to blame here, Gravity Rush fans would know by now that a remaster was coming out, same with Tearaway.

The VITA isn't really the most ubiquitous device out there, so there was a potential market for this and Tearaway when they were greenlit. Now we know the market isn't there. I could see GR becoming high grade PS+ filler together with Tearaway to promote Dreams/GR2.

In the end I don't really care. The sequel is at a stage where cancellation isn't an issue and 2 entries is more than enough in a boutique franchise like Gravity Rush.

We don't know how profitable it is because we don't know its budget or how well it did in 65% of the PS4 market.

I don't know why US+UK =/= World needs to be repeated in every single sales thread.

Get back to us when another country randomly saves GR's sales.

We'll wait.

I bought it as I don't have a Vita. I really don't think this game is aimed at Vita owners but PS4 owners.

- 9 THE LEGEND OF LEGACY FURYU NIS AMERICA / NIS AMERICA

I can never tell if results like this are good or not (#9 in 3DS-only chart). Same goes when things like Legend of Heroes hit #2 in Vita-only chart and #7 in PS3-only chart during launch week.

Yeah don't infer too much from GRR's position.

The game is sold out at amazon.co.uk and GAME

I'm assuming it doesn't look better at most other places. Hard to sell more copies and chart higher when you don't ship more and don't advertise. Whether they were right to place so little faith in GRR's release is hard to say, but this is all on SCEE.

Also god damn am I happy about Digimon's position. And Bamco didn't want to give this a physical release at first. Almost completely sold out in Germany as well, if you look online.

Bamco releasing it only in a few countries is a mess =/

It did 25k in it's first week in Japan (where the original opened with 43k on Vita) and then it was never seen in the chart again.

It looks bad but i doubt an old niche japanese vita game would of sold well physically whatever they would of done marketing wise. Prob lost less money not marketing it then they would of if they did.

The people who care bought it and that's exactly who the sequel is being made for.
Sony always lets these low profile games under the radar and they just sell on word of mouth. they are nothing more then library fillers. They Arent AAA blockbusters.

Im suprised they even announced a sequel at all tbh. although massively pleased .The remaster is leaps and bounds better then the vita version in every single department.

They can send out loads of games to die for all i care as long as they don't just nip them in the bud like most companies would do.

I expect it did alright digitally as there was at least 5 people playing it on my friends list this weekend which i never expected to see, it was also at impulse buy pricing.

Its only mistake was being a Vita exclusive in the first place. Same with Tearaway which was its own self contained game anyway where a sequel just wouldn't work or i doubt even thought about.
