I bought the 4090 for 1500. I think max would be 2k but it needs to be a high end card. 5090 is in the netherlands arround 4k so iam going to keep the 4090 as long as possible with these new prices

I think it also depends on what I get out of said GPU. I don't mind going around €1000 with some wiggle room for a damn good GPU that will last me for a long time.
Currently have a RTX 5080 that I got almost 2 years ago. Got a whole PC to go with it that I built myself, costed me €3199 in total.

It was always about $500 for me.

As the market moved the prices up, I simply bought lower models, as long as it doesn't go over $500 limit.

I don't care what they like to pretend is 'mid-range" over at Nvidia and their digital foundry mouthpieces.
If it's over $500, it is more than a luxury item. That's it.

Developers will just have to adapt to what the average gamers have in their computers, and if it's lower specced stuff, theyll just have to change their game and graphics to fit. Not the other way around.

I offset the cost most of the time so the 5090 that I paid 2400~usd for was offset by selling the 4090 for 1700 at the time. By the metric of what I'm telling, I would extrapolate maybe 700-1000 after selling my last GPU. That's assuming it something like a founders edition and not the pimped out AIB cards that cost more than 1k more than an FE.

I one spent $8,000 on one.

I was young and dumb and quite wasteful with money.

Now my max is probably $4k.

I bought a 4090 second hand for £1400 back in March 2024 i sold it last December for £1800 then went on to buy a 5090 for 2k
So if i can do the same again and upgrade to a 6090 for £600-700 i would be ok with that.
