Persona 5 - PV 04 [New Trailer]

Philemon and Nyarlathotep are never happening again, best people accept that early on. It falls under Hashino not wanting to use anything from Satomi Tadashi's works. The only reason we have Igor is because of how iconic he is. (And Philemon's not very hands-on, anyway, so he's fine just as a reference point.)

I don't get why people want them to return anyway, their story is over, Nyarlathotep got utterly humiliated by EP team, there isn't much to do with them without feeling like they are dragging on these characters.

FES has two chapters, the Journey and the Answer. The Answer is not really all that important but it's nice. The main difference between FES and P3P are:

FES
* Non dungeion exploration and interaction is in 3D
* Can only control party members through AI settings, you are in full control of MC though
* Has Anime cutscenes

P3P
* The non dungeon exploration and interaction is in 2D, you have a pointer over a static 2D image which you move around to click on people or objects
* Can choose between male and female protagonists
* Can control all party members
* There are almost no Anime cutscenes

My personal preference is FES. Sure you can't control your party members fully but it's more immersive due to 3D exploration. However 2nd playthrough with FemMC in P3P is great.
Wow, thanks a bunch. I'm going with your FES recommendation.

Still hoping, likely in vain, that we get Philemon and Nyarly in this game.

It's a rough choice between FES and P3P,which is why I really want a release with the FeMC, and the actual 3d stuff from FES. P3Ps better control, and better social links add so much, not to mention that FeMC is probably my favorite protag since P2, and it has the best social link ever with Junpei/FeMC.

who?????

I'm kidding . But at this point most newcomers are going to think that.

Yeah. Nyarlathotep's never going to get a better showing than him being the villian of both games in Persona 2, so I don't see the need for using him any further.

That's debatable about humiliation. Batsu only turned out positive because of Maya acting like an adult. It had very nearly the same outcome as Tsumi.

People who cling onto the hope that Nyarlathotep or Philemon will return in a substantial way in Persona 5 are the same as people who cling onto the hope that the Shadow Operatives or that Nanako will return in a substantial way in Persona 5.

Are there any rumors about P3FES or P4 coming to PS4 ?

Other than fans hoping, there has been no evidence to suggest any development of that nature. There's significant potential as Atlus seems to appreciate their older ips and both games have appeared on the psn store for PS3.

I would love this especially since I have not played persona 3 and would love to play it on PS4 with trophy support. I'll wait till E3 as something could be announced there along with what presumably will be the English trailer +NA/EU
?

Don't think there's even been any butterflies at all in any P5 media so far.
What about this lovely creature?

I hope the antagonists are cool. P3 and P4 have been entirely disappointing in that regard.
I agree they were pretty disappointing. It's hard to even guess what they could be, though. P3 and P4 had specific pantheons/cultures that they were taking inspiration from for the party's personas and for the big bads of each game. P5's party personas seem to be a scattershot of cultures with the unifying theme of thieves and rebels. That's a really big category to choose from. Since they're going with inspiration from some western cultures, maybe it'll be straight up Lucifer, the uber pretty boy rebel.

Personally, I liked that the antagonists were
physical manifestations of societal needs and desires. I think these games are super symbolic in nature, and I'm fine with the final battle being more of an allegory for the overall theme than an actual direct conflict between two people.

P3 antagonists were probably the worst out of any video game that I've played.

I thinks it because the justification has always felt weak. I don't need the greatest villain ever written but give me a villain that you can see where his beliefs are and his justification. All other antagonist have been pantomime level of villainy.

I think it says it all that at first when I read this I thought, "Hey, I thought Nyx was cool", and then realized that I had forgotten Strega even existed.

Was this scene already discussed?

Here you can see Morgana hiding on the left side behind a statue and on the bottom right her status says something like "dispatched". I wonder if this is a special action just for this boss fight or if you can do this all the time. Probably at one point you can call her back and she will perform some backstab attack or something like that.

I think that just means she's at 0 HP and effectively "dispatched" instead of dead.

Yep. The sad part is, persona 4 had the best role model with Diamond is Unbreakable.

As for Persona 5, I think it's a shady organisation like the Yotsuba group in Death Note.

I didn't even really think of Strega in an antagonistic light, just Nyx. Strega seemed like more of a glimpse at another side of Persona users

I hope the true antagonists are Persona users themselves instead of godlike/mythical beings.
Thinking back I feel like the most exciting/memorable fights were vs other Persona users(Velvet Room Attendants/Strega/Adachi<- although he is the weakest out of the bunch). I think most of that is just the nature of it. Stakes feel more personal vs another person instead of some being that's the manifestation of who knows what.

I'd agree with this. Strega was just following their own path, similar to the opposing demon factions in Nocturne. Strega really didn't care about SEES except when the group was interfering with their own goals.

You know some godlike being had to have created the Palace.

Eh, I really liked
Adachi
as an antagonist in P4. I agree that the "final final boss" was disappointing though, in more ways than just one.

Conversely, P3 had the opposite problem where Strega were lame antagonists but Nyx worked really well for the concept they were going for, so I guess it balances out.

Not if everything was just a dream ..... y_y
In all seriousness it's ok if it's a godlike being but make it a contract like thing so we at least have a proxy that can have some character.
Let that being be the persona of someone.

Saw something interesting on the megaten reddit

If you look at the bottom you can see that Anne isn't in the party yet she is part of that tag attack.

So freaking hype. Yet my brother doesn't even watch the trailers I send him and he was super into P4G, way more than I am.

Looks like I'll have to import this one myself.
