Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is finally back on sale

Lord Helmet said:
Just got an email from Mejilan. He says the Nintendo World Store (NY) has it in stock for $29.99.
I wonder if he'll be nice and help a few GAFers out.

Press Y and yell "Hold it" or "Objection". It's just a little gimmick if you wanna object verbally.

Must not have liked my voice then.

So instead of clicking the button to present evidence, you can just scream?

I might be getting ahead of myself, but does the game ever explain when to press the witness? I didn't really get the difference between that and presenting evidence in the game.

Hold it a little bit away and speak into it. It should work. You don't really have to scream.

Pressing the witness later on will get them to say different things in more details. Present stuff only when you're sure because usually you'll get penalized if you're wrong.

So I followed that link from Walmart someone on the first page offered up.

"PHOENIX WRIGHT: IN STOCK NOW!" claimed the web page.

"Success!" I thought, as I proceeded (with caution) to create a Wal Mart online account.

"THIS ITEM HAS JUST BEEN OUT OF STOCK" claimed the website, after continuing to checkout.

"Dang" I thought to myself, dejected.

Until next time... :(

Wow I bet Capcom had no idea this game would be that popular when they first released it.

I still think they have no idea that this game is this popular even now, seeing as how this SECOND reprint is also a low run. Common Capcom, retailers are dying to order more of this game because it sells like hot cakes. Why not commit more copies to these reprints?

It's like they don't want it to sell or something.

Yeah...I feel somewhat bad about paying $50 CDN for it at Videogamesplus when that would have been more like $38 CDN even with shipping and the like. But still, it's not as if I'm poor, it'll work out.

So has Toys N Joys turned things around in the last few years or what? Because they used to rank right up there with Buyrite as shittiest online retailer ever. Fair warning.

Greaaat. I ordered this Tuesday and still haven't gotten the tracking # emailed to me. If it takes much longer I guess I will try to cancel my order and get it from NCSX. Anyone had any recent experience with Toysnjoys?

I paid more than that, I just get really cheap on other games to make up the difference. :D

Even the deal-savvy people at FatWallet are salivating over this game. It's fun, but I wouldn't pay more than retail for it. I'd just preorder the sequel.

I still haven't finished my copy. Maybe I'll ebay it afterwards.

I found this site a while ago and tried it out for the first time today: Games Universe. it seems to specialize in rare games so it looks high quality and therefore recommended.
Got these 5 items:
Mega Man Zero 2 $19.89
Metroid Fusion $20.25
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow $38.29 (The only one over MSRP, everything else below)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney $30.55
Tony Hawk's American Sk8land $21.25

Total = $130ish, Shipping was about $7.00

MMZ2, MF, and THAS are all steals.

Edit: BTW I would also highly recommend Nintendo World store for anyone in the NYC area. The other day they had multiple copies of both DoS and Trauma Center (DoS was gone after DSL launch but surprising to see it there nonetheless) and have other rare games. It's also unexpectedly well priced (the WiFi USB Adaptor was $35 whereas most charge $45?). Only fault was all GBA Pokemon games were $40.

Nintendo ought to give Capcom a hand shipping out new copies of PWAA, since they just recently made it a Touch! Generations game.
Is this true? Nintendo's press site only mentions Brain Age, Nintendogs, Tetris, True Swing Golf, Big Brain Academy, Magnetica, and Sudoku as Touch Generations titles.

Memles said:
Anyone see this at a Canadian site? At all? Or in Canadian stores? Yeah, I know, unlikely, but I have to hope.

If you're in Toronto, I saw around four copies sitting on the rack behind the counter when I was at Game Centre (in the small mall where the Dollarama/Taco Bell is on Yonge, a little south of Bloor) when I was there yesterday. I think they were priced at $44.99 though.

Also a used copy of Jump Superstars for $29.99 was among the used DS games last I checked.

Check their page, and click Software Overview. Scroll down on that and you'll see such games as Trauma Center and PWAA.

Just to confirm, Nintendo World Store in NYC has this game in stock (though not many, I think) for $29.99 + tax. First time THIS YEAR I've seen it in stock at the NWS.

i just got my tracking number from Toys N Joys shipped out today

When did you order?

I also noticed that the price on their site has changed to $35 instead of $30, which is what is what at when I had ordered it. I'm hoping nothing lame is going to happen to my order...

Mine was delivered last night.

Thanks for this thread, great game played for an hour or so last night.

Interesting and even commical at times, story and characters.

I also find the "Guilty until proven innocent" feel the Judge seems to have, humerous.

i ordered on June 13

Cool Ichigo, I'm glad to hear you got your tracking number. I just got mine and it shipped out today too. I'm happy to hear we both got it before they jacked up the price! (But hey, it's still not the $40 NCSX wants, though it seems people who ordered from them got it quicker).

So it looks like Toys n Joys is reliable enough to get Phoenix Wright to ya. Fear now abolished!

OMG I still wont pay more than $30 for this, lol :D

FYI, I've had to file a complaint against Toys N Joys with the Better Business Bureau, and I've had one friend had to do it TWICE, and another friend once. In my case I ordered a new US PS1 w/screen system it said was in stock. Got an email 4 days later saying that they were out, please respond if you'd like to be contacted if we get more in, or if you want to cancel. I responded that I wanted to cancel. 3 weeks later a USED JAPANESE system shows up, with no a/c plug and a RF switch instead of A/V, and the system beat up all to hell. Sent it back, they supposed refunded it to my credit card twice, never did, and wound up having to take it up with Visa who got it corrected immediately. They also refused to refund me the shipping charges to ship the system back to them, and they require Priority Mail, and they're in Hawaii so it was like $14.

STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM TOYS N JOYS

Barf, that's not what I want to hear... I ordered mine on Tuesday like Ichigo and Maximilian and have yet to receive an e-mail back.

Edit: Oh wait, I ordered mine on Wednesday. So I guess I should be getting that e-mail today/tomorrow...

And oddly enough, Toys N Joys now has Phoenix Wright back down to $30 instead of $35 on their site again...

I got an email right after I ordered too, I just didn't get the tracking number they promised. However, the first email said "Payment Confirmation Shipping Pending Email Notification" or something. I just got the tracking # today with word that it had shipped. Kinda weaksauce but at least I know it's on the way and can track it.

I first heard about the Toys N Joys PW deal in the fourth page of DS Lite Recommendations thread where one person said they were alright, but he hadn't ordered from them in awhile (like six or seven years). Someone else said they were horrible but I didn't notice at the time. Then I spoke to the friend I ordered it for who informed me they're as bad as Buy-rite and also saw the warning about them posted here.

So far so good though I guess but the real test is if/when I get it. And for the record, while I had at least a couple friends screwed over by Buy-Rite, they always did right by me. Of course, after my pals got screwed, I stopped using them.

Somewhat off-topic, but someone mentioned Dawn of Sorrow. I've recently become aware that Konami's official American site Konami Style stocks it and a lot of the other low print Konami games (Silent Hill 1 is still sold on the site). No Zone of Enders 2 though.

I'm just replaying case 4 and 5 on my new DSLite. Who says it has no replay value?!

Edit: BTW it's back in stock at videogamesplus.ca for $44.99 CAD. Have a feeling it won't last though.

DAMN YOU PHOENIX WRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a lazy gamer. I don't hunt games down. I'll buy it if I see it. I've never seen Phoenix Wright........ SOMEDAY.

Get the Japanese version. It's cheaper and it has the English version on it.

I think that's in Europe only. If you look on Nintendo's North American Touch Generations site, you'll see that only first-party titles like Brain Age are listed.

They "advertise" it because Nintendo is distributing and translating (at least in french)Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright (and some other capcom games in Europe (RE:DS,VJ). So no shortage but full 40€ price :(

PHOENIX MOTHER F UCKING WRIGHT IS IN DA HOUSE!!!! Win! My friend is going to love this game. I just got my copy from Toys N Joys. I ordered it just under a week ago (Tues, June 13). Despite the bad rap they apparently have, I would have to say they did a pretty good job, with both fair price/shipping, getting me a tracking number and getting it here quick! So if Toys N Joys worked for me, it could work for you too! What are you waiting for? Go! Go!

I also received my copy today, but from VideoGamesPlus. It came quickly, well-packaged...and the game is freakin' awesome. Kudos to the threadstarter for alterting us regarding the reprint.

Wow!
Capcom to do a third reproduction (fourth shipment/release) in August

Ncsx Phoenix Wright webpage said:
Update: SOLD OUT as of June 19, 2006 at 3:58PM EST
Please note our entire allocation of Phoenix Wright is now SOLD OUT. Gone. Vamoose. Buh Bye. Although we stocked the same quantity as the first reproduction which lasted us for about a month, we're sold out in a week this time around. There were days when we sold 100+ copies in an afternoon and another 50+ copies during the evening hours. There's good news however - Capcom will publish a THIRD REPRODUCTION of Phoenix Wright in mid-August. We'll restock by then for any backorders that are submitted. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of Phoenix Wright from the next batch, please wait until August before placing your order since our shop will process transactions automatically upon checkout. We don't want to charge you for a game that won't ship for another 6 weeks. Thanks for reading.

Update: Still SOLD OUT as of June 19, 2006 at 4:01PM EST
Please note that although the USA version of Phoenix Wright is now sold out, the Japanese version is in stock which is playable in English. A third reproduction of Phoenix Wright will ship in mid August. Please read below for further details. Thanks.

:lol damn that is just ridiculous. Capcom must be thrilled. Another franchise to milk, and this one I do not mind one bit.

I hope no one missed out on this that wanted it. I did what I could to shout out every possible opportunity to order the game.. it seems like the only one left is Toysnjoys.com, which is $34.95 plus shipping, located in Hawaii, and I believe they will ship to Canada as well (not sure).

Avoid Toys n Joys.. PlayAsia still has it though.

.. and yes, the japanese version does contain full english as an option.

Ridiculous? More like FANTASTIC

This means that the chances for seeing the others in the series not yet released here are up from "No chance in hell" to "Very likely"

It's the best news all year for adventure gamers :D :D :D
