Ah yes a UHD drive. A market in which blu Ray player manufacturers have been pulling out of over the the last year or so.
So? I've yet to see you make a logical point here.

Nah you're just getting fucked by making the PlayStation Store your only store. I feel the same way about the Series S for the most part but at least it's much cheaper.
No. I think they both look like shit. You think the one with the disc drive looks better than the digital edition ?

Or a brother, problem solved. So what you're saying is that...
- you need a friend
- you need a good friend who won't try to steal your account
- you need a friend with identical taste to yours
We will see how "sweet" it will be when those who will purchase it get "locked" in the store's 80$ prices for new games.

Discs are a dying medium.
After how long though?Ironically I found the best deals on games on PSN.

Again (and last time) OP, from where this upper bound 25% of performance difference is coming from? I am just curious, enlighten me please.
I can't say that i agree, you don't seem to have a deep technical knowledge about the systems. So that precise 25% is just your personal opinion. The problem is you presented it as a known fact on your list. Anyway, that's clear now, thanks for your reply.10.3 TF variable clocks vs 12 TF fixed frequency for GPU + max. 3.5 Ghz vs 3.6Ghz fixed for CPU. XSX is at least 18% and IMO max. 25% faster. Smallest performance gap ever, so dont worry bruv.
Exactly. Thats the same motivation for me to buy DE. Games on Day1 at $30-35If you dont have a friend to share your games I fully agree. But if you do, digital is the way to go. 30$ for a new game on day 1? No-Brainer!
Wtf are you talking about? Shit gets twisted around in your head easily don't it.Wtf is this.
Tim Sweeney, is that you?
Are you trying to get Sony to have an Epic games store on Playstation now?
Please stop before Apple yanks your chain again :|
If PS5 keeps same “game sharing” system as PS4Exactly. Thats the same motivation for me to buy DE. Games on Day1 at $30-35
No. I think they both look like shit.
It better do!If PS5 keeps same “game sharing” system as PS4
I'm also trying to get a DE. Initial quantity of those is very low (understandable, since it's where they take most loss) and I found out that some websites of physical stores just refused to list them, they will put all their DEs for sale on the store on the day quietly, so I guess retailers aren't happy with the digital future perspective.I REALLY want the DE PS5, so I am going to try to snag one when the pre-orders start back up over the next few days. I have a physical PS5 pre-ordered on Amazon, but I wanted the DE from the start and I’ll happily cancel my Amazon pre-order if I can secure the DE.
Poll is proving you wrong so far, OP
Something that’s going to be around for the next seven years could not be described as dying.Discs are a dying medium.
Jeez man no reason to get so unbelievably triggered, let's calm down mate. That sweet, sweet 80 € per game with fuck all you can do about it because your 35Kg router doesn't come with a disc drive.
Agree entirely. The only “downside” is lack of disc but considering a lot of people have moved to digital and will keep moving there over the coming years, it’ll no longer be a downside in a few years timeCmon, its 399$.
Compared to XSX:
- Almost same performance (18%-25% delta)
- 2x faster SSD
- 100$ cheaper
- better 1st party games (2021 looks packed already)
compared to XSS:
- Almost 2.5x the performance for only 100$ more
- 4k vs. 1440p/1080p
- bigger and faster SSD (512gb vs 825gb)
- better 1st party games IMO
What do you think? IMO the PS5 DE is the sweet spot for most gamers. In the 7 yrs of PS4, I only had 1 game on disk (CoD Ghosts) which was a gift. So I will gladly go digital only. I shared all my games with a friend, so every brand new game is 30$ max. each and theres almost always some kind of sale going on. I hope Sony doesn't change account sharing with the PS5 lel.
I'd suggest cancelling your order and putting money towards anger therapyThat sweet, sweet 80 € per game with fuck all you can do about it because your 35Kg router doesn't come with a disc drive.

I think the DE will be about 1/3 of the PS5 base eventually.2nd place is not bad. I didnt think so many would vote for the the DE here in GAF lel.
From best to worst :
1. PS5 DE: 38.9 $/€ per TF
2. XSX : 41.6 $/€ per TF
3. Ps5 : 48.6 $/€ per TF
4. XSS : 75 $/€ per TF
