Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Move support in Tron Evolution seems to be limited to vehicle (lightcycle) control and from what it sounds like it will be of the "imitate a steering wheel" variety.
SS: How will TRON: Evolution support PlayStation Move?

CW: PlayStation Move is used in vehicle segments, particularly the lightcycle segments. It gives players a more nuanced control over the lightcycle, and it’s fun to be able to hold it like it’s the actual control panel of the lightcycle. And yes, PlayStation Move support is included on the disc!

SS: Do you use one PlayStation Move controller to control vehicles, or two?

CW: You use one, though we experimented with using two. You hold it on its side and tilt it up or down to accelerate or slow down. Watch this space — I think PlayStation Move is something we’ll be doing a little more with going forward. We’ll see what happens with that.

I don't see myself switching controllers mid-game. That prospect doesn't sound very appealing.

Game looks perfect for Move. Looks like a great little Downloadable game for move.

I am sad however that Flight Control is not in the US store.. wonder why.

New Playstation Move Butler Ad.

If you watched the World Cup, a part of this ad cracked me up.

During the software line up, there's a game between Sorcery and Time Crisis, but I can't figure out what it is. Any ideas?

i think (hope) that it was made that way and not the official logo

Sony should do something about supply.

Maybe they're trying to artificially create shortages ahead of the more key shopping season next month, as a marketing ploy. But at the moment apparently gamestop.com are showing Move as backordered and Amazon are suggesting a ship time of 2-4 weeks. Analysts have been talking about limited supply.

Hope they know what they're doing...

I think an almost worldwide launch isn't easy to pull off and they had put the extra challenge of many different SKU's on themselves on top of that (starter packs, solo sticks, console bundles etc.).
Each starter pack (or SC bundle) plants the technology in another household while additional sticks "only" enhance the games in a few instances, so I understand why they apparently took the hit and ran out of single controllers.

Still, they needed to be out before Kinect at all costs, and they managed to pull that off. If they can resupply in time for the big holiday shopping season, they should be alright.

on amazon.de they still/again have no Move controllers and the prices of the third party alternative sellers on amazon exploded:
59€ for a single Move controller (RRP is 40€) :lol
83€ for the Starter pack (RRP is 60€) :lol

(these are not even the most expensive ones, just the default ones)

I was just saying on the last page about how all the stores (Target, Best Buy, Wal Mart, Gamestop) were sold out in my area.

So I just bought the PSMove and what I noticed is that the camera kinda sucks. The screen image is grainy and pixelated. Especially playing on my HDTV.
Is my PSEye broken or is it normal? Do I need better lighting in my room or something?

Move works great with The Shoot and Sports Champion demos, gonna buy SC tomorrow with another Move-controller and that Logic 3 pirate gun!:lol

the more light the less grain...but yes the camera sucks

Even though the camera is technically "HD", the pic quality does kinda suck, and seems to get exponentially worse the darker the room is. It doesn't really affect gameplay though, and even in games like Start The Party that use the feed it isn't really noticeable (but it is in the highlight pics at the end)

It like a webcam, you need more ambient lighting or lighting from the front and not the rear. The graininess is normal when it is in low light.

That's normal. The quality of the camera is rubbish. Good lighting in the room would reduce the noise of the image but it'll still be poor. It's good enough to take a pic of your face and map it to a character model though (tiger woods 11 and TV superstars) so it doesn't bother me too much, apart from that only casual games like start the party will use it so great picture quality isn't all that important.

What did you expect from a 640x480 camera feed on an HDTV display?
Also, yeah, light affects quality, just like with any digital camera.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Still very pleased with my purchase and can't wait to get Time Crisis and The Shoot.
I'm hoping for lots of lightgun arcade shooting games. :D

Does anybody have any tips for calibrating the move for the shoot? It works great for time crisis but I can't seem to get it to work properly for the shoot.

What's happening? I played the demo for the first time last night, and my friend and I were able to calibrate while both sitting at pretty far angles from center. But I just used it like I do with mag, by my side, I didn't try to look down the Move to the TV to see if it lined up.

Sorry if I missed this, but is there a Move-enabled demo for Planet mini golf? The one from the US store has it disabled. *insert fu.gif*

The only reason I bought a Move at launch is because I didn't trust Sony to keep the thing in stock. It's only going to get worse when KZ3 and Socom 4 hit.

Nope.

Their manager/spokesman said he was surprised to learn people wanted the Move controls in the demo and they will see what they can do. I guess they figured menu navigation was enough? Very stupid.

That said, the controls in the full version are a lot of fun. Its intuitive and easy to play I think.

Well I'm definitely enjoying it, specifically single player table tennis. I just don't think there will be a lot of two player action going on in my household. I bought Heavy Rain as my "core experience" for Move, I'll tell you how that goes.

You gotta play 2 player Bocce and TT ... I thought SP TT was THE answer for me (was having so much fun) but once the girl picked it up and we started playing against each other it made it way more fun (and I'm usually a SP type of gamer besides online stuff).

As for HR, I wasn't very impressed with the game so I didn't bother trying the Move patch.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but when I calibrate it says to aim at the targets, and I do, and the aim is a little off/laggy. I only have about 3 feet from the tv, so that might be it. Time Crisis works way better though, but that might be because it has the reticule when you calibrate.

You don't have to aim precisely just point in the direction of the 2 targets. These game are never going to be lightgun accurate. Just think of them like light-gun games on the PC where you aim with the mouse, more like drag and shoot.
Still plays fine, you just need to adjust to a different mindset. But I'm still kinda bummed my sister scored better than me on her first try. I blame my light-gun reflexes. :lol

Oh, btw, could you please update the link to the site in the OP with the new www.iwaggle3d.com one? I have switched to custom domain a couple of days ago. :P
Old blogspot domain still redirects to new URL of course. But still...

Yeah. I'm of the same opinion. Just wanted to see what other people thought about it. Glad half of the votes are for just making videos :)

Perhaps a simple 500 words review attached to a video overview would be enough. Not sure. Still thinking about it.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I'm pretty psyched for time crisis so this should help.

Damn. The only store in my area that had the Move bundle isn't stocking individual controllers yet.

I want to play Gladiator the right way. :(
