Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Help with decision before I pick this up. 2 Moves or 1 Move and Time Crisis!?!?!?!??! I think I may muster the funds to get at least a 50 dollar game or 1 more Move. HALP!!!

I leave in a half hour to pick this up!

People need to buy Flight Control because judging from the leaderboards not a lot of people did..

PSN needs more of these small ~5€ games that are not minis. FC HD doesn't have a lot of content but it's very well made and a good timewaster/podcast game.

Also, for trophy whores like me, you can get 90% of them in an hour or maybe even less. Only the "play 200 games" one will take some time.

I haven't tried the multiplayer yet due to lack of two move controllers, but I can imagine two players managing the planes on the same screen will be extremely chaotic (which is good!).

BUT IT. It's only 5 bucks. Get yourself a UK PSN card and buy it from the UK store if you have to.

Next time I buy a US card, I will have to find someone to trade me for a 20 in UK funds. I want but it's never coming stateside. Such a shame.

Time Crisis isn't even out yet..
I already regret not getting 2 Move controllers for Sports Champions single/multiplayer and multiplayer in general.

I want games BUT I want to try the demos for myself. I only really want Time Crisis right now until I play the demos myself. 2 Moves would be great for me and my son, that's why I'm thinking of that option.

F ME, Time Crisis isn't out. Looks like I may just get 2 Moves for now. The demos support 2p local MP right?

I just realized that I have a Mirror on the wall opposite my wall mounted TV. Is this going to be a problem?

Edit: so basically I would be standing in between a mirror and my TV.

Question:

My Living room is about 10 feet length-wise.

Once you factor in the couch, and that the camera might be half a foot from the back of the wall somewhere on my entertainment unit, is that enough range for the camera to properly pick up a full swing and capture the controller's movement? I'm estimating 6-7 feet between where I will stand and where the camera is.

I have a glass coffee table in front of me which is very reflective and its fine. The mirror will probably be too far away for it to register anyway, and it'll be focusing on the one closer to it.

It seems that darker and closer is what it likes. I sit about 10ft away and if I'm sitting down, start the party sometimes complains that I need to move closer. So probably around 8-9ft would be the max range. Thats not ideal for me as I have to move furniture around, and means I can't easily play while sitting for games like RE5/RUSE etc. Although a guy in GAME was demoing it this lunchtime and I'm sure he was further away than I was with no issues in Sports Champions.

Can someone please explain how to get these fucking controllers to work? I'm pressing the home button, getting nothing.

3 year old 60 GB here.

You have to connect it via USB once. :)

Quick question: Does the Move controller only charge when plugged into a PS3? Tried everything (Wii, Xbox, PC, etc.) and it doesn't seem to charge. :/

Do you have the usb-cable in the controller? Do that then press PS button.

if so then that fucking sucks :(

Played the ping pong game earlier today in a store and I really liked it.
Vibration feels more intense than with the wiimote and the experience felt very responsive.

I'm buying it this evening after work :)

That's how I paired my DS3 and Sony BT Headset. It's a 1 time thing.

Well, I think I will get 2 Moves. Even with the demos, me and my son will have some fun with this. I may break and get a game once in store though.

I'm a bit hacked off that the sports game really expects 2 moves and doesn't recognise the nunchuck. I was hoping that it would be able to use both. So I'd say to get the most out of it you really need to spend another 30 quid for another move. Not cool.

I really like the fact that games will take advantage of two move controllers, but also allow you to play with one. I think this is the sweet spot.

I have people over occassionally to play video games, but it's mostly me by myself, and it's nice to be able to use that extra controller instead of having it just sit there 90% of the time.

I don't have a second move controller (yet), and have had lots of fun with every game on Sports Champions. It's not like you play and think "hmmm, I wish I had a second move controller". Not at all.

No game NEEDS the nav at all. It doesn't even have motion tracking abilities and is only a DS3/2.

Does anyone know if the US East Coast stores are going to have Move and all Move games in stock this morning, or is today just the ship date?

Wal-Mart had there's last night at Midnight ready for sale.

Aren't the RE5 Move controls (at least one of the setups) exactly mapped like the RE4 Wii controls?
Why is it that reviewers seem to not be very positive about it while RE4 Wii is said to be THE shit.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the deep minority, but I thought the RE4 Wii controls sucked complete ass. IMO, they were horrible and not intuitive.

That's my opinion, please don't verbally assault me. :lol

So... I gave in. Bought 3 move controllers and 1 Sports Champion bundle for a total of 4 move controllers!

Toys R Us has a "Buy 2 accesories over $35, save $20" deal and luckily Sports Champion bundle and Move controllers count... technically it's buy 3 get one controller free for me so I just HAD to give in... :/

I thought the RE4 controls were....interesting.

I mean yes, the aiming was much improved with the Wiimote. However, the thing that was somewhat weird was that you moved the screen/frame you were aiming within with the nunchuck (I can't remember if the game would let you move the screen with the aiming reticle or not, but I always moved it with the nunchuck and then aimed with the reticle within the frame).

Kind of a convoluted explanation but it's kind of difficult to explain those controls without ever using them

There are only two games that support 2 move controllers in SC, and they aren't even the best in the game...why would you be mad about that? Unless you'll spend most of your time playing archery or gladiator...which would be a waste IMO.

I think at least one said that yeah the controls are pretty much the same, but they suit 4 better than 5.

Wired has impressions here that I think kind of echo what some other people are trying to say here:

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/09/resident-evil-5-move/

The key difference and biggest problem with Resident Evil 5 on Move is the fusing of camera and movement commands to a single stick. On a normal controller, I would use the twin analog sticks to control my character and rotate the field of view separately.

With Move, there is only one thumbstick. My character always faced straight ahead because pushing left or right meant turning my whole view. Such a limitation in an action game is a serious handicap, even one with slow-moving enemies like zombies.

Those zombies didn’t stand a chance, however, because Move offers a significant advantage over traditional controls. The ability to point and shoot directly at my targets sent my accuracy rate sky high. I also enjoyed the new knife control, where a shake of the Move wand would trigger a quick knife strike.

So the aiming is indeed better, but movement and camera movement might seem odd. I think a lot of how you feel about it might also depend on how used you are to the gamepad controls.

I don't know. I effectively got a new game free as I already had RE5gold but ... well, I honestly don't know. Haters gonna hate

hmm smart, very smart bundle.

I thought the gladiator one would be the worst but it seems everyone loves it, I guess the exercise makes them feel good :)

Gladiator is superb fun. Wait til you get to G.R.E.G - you'll be bopping up down, swimming left right down up to get the hits. I was so amazed at what it was making me do

got it working yet? I couldn't get it syncing til I used a USB cable and hooked the move mote to console that way and pressed the button. Didn't take long for me to try that. Then it worked. Try this.

I'm just going to make a JPN account and pick up when it releases next month, along with all the other awesome content that's never coming stateside. What the hell, Sony? Do you not like money?

You CAN use two Moves to enhance the experience in some games but it is in NO WAY required. It's perfectly fine with only one.

Okay. It's not REQUIRED but the game certainly expects you to have both and after a while you do FEEL like you missing out on something so yeah, I'd say I'm starting to feel a bit cheated.

It would have made sense to have the nunchuck detected for games like the sparing to dodge and block but no joy. It's a wasted opportunity.

I have to say I'm really impressed how accurate it is. It's amazing.

Can't wait to play a FPS using this.

What games are you talking about? I never felt like the game was expecting me to have two. It felt totally fine. Also, the nunchuck neither has a glowing ball nor motion sensing, so how would you exactly block with it?

Don't wait. Make the account for some EU country and download the demos now.
There are a ton of them anyway, so it takes time and when you are finished + have the Move, you can start playing/testing immediately.

EU stores don't have Raquet Sports, so I got that from the US store. wink wink EU PSN Users who did not notice.

done, thanks. that's a shit load of demos! it's making me think i'd be better off getting 2 moves and a PSN card for Tumble and Flight Whatever then waiting until next week to buy a physical disc game instead of getting a game and a Move controller today. especially since the SC demo has table tennis, which is the game i really wanted to try the most (next to Tumble).

there is no game in Sports Champion that needs the nav con/DS3

Honestly, I think they should have made a nicely-priced bundle containing two Move controllers. Maybe even ONLY sell them in pairs.

- you can do local mp from the start
- developers know everyone has two Moves and can develop the games accordingly. Take the chameleon tech demo for example. You need two Move controllers for it to work (probably not even combined with the DS3 may work as substitute), which developer would integrate this into a normal game or even make a full game out of it?
