Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Honestly, I think they should have made a nicely-priced bundle containing two Move controllers. Maybe even ONLY sell them in pairs.

- you can do local mp from the start
- developers know everyone has two Moves and can develop the games accordingly. Take the chameleon tech demo for example. You need two Move controllers for it to work (probably not even combined with the DS3 may work as substitute), which developer would integrate this into a normal game or even make a full game out of it?

Or games that require 2 move controllers can get a very nice move/game bundle to go along with it?

I'm just going to make a JPN account and pick up when it releases next month, along with all the other awesome content that's never coming stateside. What the hell, Sony? Do you not like money?

the airplane game is available on AUS psn. It'd be 100% english too.

I've bought it the other day. Starter Pack+ Nav Controller+Sports Champions.
Sports Champions is great, table tennis and beach volleyball are really addictive and the controller is so precise and responsive.
I've also loved Tumble and Echocrome2. Will definetly buy the latter.
Heavy Rain was a bit disappointing, the movements required to do the actions in game felt unnatural and overall there's no benefit over the DS3 controller.
Eye Pet was also really funny and cute, I guess it might be a killer applications for kids.
The rest of the lineup is too casual for me. I can't wait to play Killzone 3 with this thing, also Metal Gear Solid Rising will be really cool.

Okay. It's not REQUIRED but the game certainly expects you to have both and after a while you do FEEL like you missing out on something so yeah, I'd say I'm starting to feel a bit cheated.
Not the game's fault you didn't read the back of the box.

As it is Move's launch is already kind of confusing. I think that a while down the line, they will do exactly that. I also hope they have a Move + Navigational Controller bundle. They could also have a "Basic" Pack bundle that has only the Move and the Eye. The reason they don't do so now (strictly a guess from my part) is for marketing reasons. The fewer the bundles, the less confusion, and the better for everyone. They can correctly claim that to get into Move, the minimum required amount is $50. As of right now there is only one game that literally requires two Move controllers. It'd piss off a lot of consumers if they HAD to buy a bundle with two Move controllers when there is no tangible benefit for most of the games.

Eyepet is awesome. My kids love it. I might have to get the full game.

Any deals better than this in stores???

Kmart also has a string of deals for different combinations of purchases

If one deal is better or not really depends on what you're looking for.

Kmart Blog said:
From 9/17 through 9/25 we'll be offering some great deals on PlayStation Move consoles, accessories and games:
  • Get a $25 Kmart gaming coupon with every in-store purchase of a PlayStation Move bundle (This includes one PlayStation Move controller, one PlayStation Eye Camera and Sport Champions PS3 game) for $99.99
  • Get a $40 Kmart gaming coupon with your in-store purchase of a PS3 system (320GB) and the aforementioned Move bundle for $399.99
  • Get a $10 Kmart gaming coupon when you buy one of the following PS3 Move accessories in store: a PS3 Move controller, a PS3 Move Navigation controller or a PS3 Move charging station
  • Get a $10 Kmart gaming coupon with the in-store purchase of Toy Story 3, Start the Party, Eye Pet, Kung Fu Rider or Sport Champions

Note: Make sure to read the link. These coupons are not able to be used until Sep. 26th.

For (somone such as myself) looking for the following setup
2 PSMove Controllers
1 Navigation Controller
Sports Champions
Eye Camera

If you don't need to buy a camera and want the same setup as above then go with the following strategy:
Buy the 2 PSMoves at Gamestop
Buy Sports Champions at Kmart
Then on the 26th, go back to Kmart and buy the Navigation Controller with the $10 coupon received from the Sports Champions purchase at Kmart.

MSRP (w/o tax) = 170
Purchase Price (w/o tax) = 140

If you need to buy a camera and want the same setup as above, then go with the following strategy:
Buy the Bundle (camera, Sports Champions, and (1) Move controller) at Kmart
Buy Sports Champions at Kmart (*note: this should be on a separate transaction, the wording on the Kmart blog makes me believe that there will be only one coupon given per transaction)
Buy The 2nd PS Move at Kmart (*note: same deal, separate transaction)
Buy the Navigation controller at Kmart on the 26th using your $25 coupon from the bundle and $10 coupon from Sports Champions.

MSRP (w/o tax) = 180
Purchase Price (w/o tax) = 150

Now I know some people don't have a Kmart near them, so....yeah...

If I were to buy Flight Control from the EU store with an EU account, could I still play it on my current US account without ever having to access that EU account again? Or would I need to be signed in to that EU account in order to play it?

I love Flight Control on my phone, sounds great on the PS3.

well i downloaded High Velocity Bowling from a US account and it works fine from my (normal) EU account so it should work the other way around.

Most PSN downloads just require the account to be on your PS3, not that you have to play as it. I play all of my Japanese PS1 games and my UK Singstore content through my US account. You should be okay.

From posters who actually own Move and have played it extensively by now, would you say this is a wiimote 2.0 or a totally new level of motion play?

I have a Wii and a ps3, Move didn't interest me one bit before this thread was started but now it's starting to aching. For my motion needs I can turn to my Wii so that means I can only justify Move if it is much much better than the Wiimote in precision and 1:1 tracking.

I didn't install the demo. For reals? Ha. I might have to try this,

@tarin02453

Its definitely Wiimote+ and then some.

+

3d space. Tumble where you need to reach out into space and put/move things around. Without a camera, you can't do this with Wii (I think you can't)

Augmented reality stuff - with the ball becoming other shapes is also really interesting.

The accuracy of course is amazing.

Fuck, no kmart here :( guess I wait and find a good deal somewhere down the road. Don't need an eye, just controllers (sports game doesn't interest me as of now)

i have the Wii and Move, Move adds the 3D space and something else to the game, like you can't waggle in the table tennis game you need to put some strength into your shot

Since I play the games in the dark (projector) the vibrant colors of the Move ball are really striking.

As a result, I now want a lightsaber game more than ever before. Do it Lucasarts!

I'd might actually play a Star Wars game if that was the case. Seeing yourself wielding a lightsaber on-screen with 1:1 control would be pretty pimp.

Got mine on my break!! Move bundle with an extra Nav and an extra motion controller.

I have next week off work as well :D

I wish KZ2 got an update :(

aah right, im waiting for a game to install, if i flick down though it just pops back to the top, maybe im too close.

WAIT, i cant be too close if it doesnt use the ball, hmm.

I have to say I'm really impressed how accurate it is. It's amazing.

Can't wait to play a FPS using this.

I'm waiting on this, maybe they'll even be a bundle or deal at Gamestop or Amazon. Sports games are fun but I'd want the meaty titles like a killer FPS.

Just got home from Gamestop. Picked up my pre-ordered Sports Champions bundle and an extra Move. There's a lot of demos on the demo disk. It's also a lot lighter than I expected to be with rumble in it. I'm waiting for it to charge up, be back with impressions later.

I've got a Wii as well. Move is super accurate tracking. It's 1:1. In one of the demo games, it superimposes a bat on your Move controller and tracks it perfectly. Really impressive stuff.

Hmmm, Move+Eyepet bundle, or Move+Sports Champions bundle.

I'd go for the Sport Champion bundle. There's a lot more to do and it should come with a Eyepet demo anyway.

I thought Tumble was a lot like Boom Blox? I haven't played it yet (picking up 2 Moves and SC around lunchtime - about 4 hours from now) but is it something different?

Also, I want to play with the Augmented Reality stuff after watching some videos but just can't bring myself to buy Start the Party (that's the one with that stuff right?).

Its way different. Boom Blox essentially has you moving the cursor, pressing and holding a button and then moving on a 2D plane (or doing gesture tosses). Tumble is full on 3D movement.

Yeah it is. You actually hold bricks on the end of your move and have to position them accurately in a 3D space. Its like Jenga. There are loads and loads of other modes too. There are building modes, knocking down for points modes etc.

So while I have no urge to run out and buy one I would like to try this tech out. Are there demos or anything set up at any stores Gamestop perhaps? Hate going in there but I would stomach it for about 10 minutes to play with this controller.

A bit cuntish of EA to only have left handed support in the full version of the Tiger Woods 11, and only right hand support in the demo. :/

Has anybody found Move in stores today in the US? I called Gamestop yesterday to see if they would have it today and they said that it's just the shipping date and would have it in Monday.
