Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Go for it! Now for a catchy title.

Sports Champions |OT| The Day that Waggle Died

edit: just bought a Nav and RUSE. Man I cant wait to play that tonight.

You sure I won't get banned for that? :lol

I'm making it right now, it's going to be my first OT so help me out once I posted it (like recommendations, etc.). :D

Making a 360 turn to be able to use slowdown???

Fix this shit, Guerrilla!

Is the only movement that allow to play The Shoot sitting. A small trick for the devs, there are 4 buttons around Move button. The hell, even the move button is not used in the game. Keep this 360 turn for waggle-fans, but give me a key-mapping to trigger the special powers.

I hope you guys are using custom soundtracks for sports champions because gladiator duel with the soundtrack of "the gladiator" owns :lol

Haha, I dunno. Maybe a jab like that wouldn't be taken lightly by a few people. :p

Awesome title :lol I would add subtitle ", and from the ashes 1:1 begins"

and yeah I doubt anyone would get ban for a title like that.

Ha - got some friends round to play Start the Party - they are all completely sold. Loved it. So much better than the Wii games - augmented reality for the win. Somebody asked if this was the Wii, and I said 'No, PlayStation' and they were like 'Oh, cool'.

Housemates chuffed and wants to play it on Tiger Woods. Ha.

Sells itself really.

Look SC is a deeper experience because it is designed to be. If it was made to be exactly like WSR in HD with no extra challenges than it would be just that. Nintendo's design of the game was not limited by tech as far as making it more challenging.
Incorrect. Wii Motion Plus can't know its position in 3D space. In terms of XYZ movement, the Wiimote can only estimate where it's going based on relative acceleration- if I move right 25 centimeters, it's going to estimate I've moved, say, 27 centimeters; if I then return my hands to center it might think I'm actually 4 centimeters off-center. You can see how this disparity would be extremely problematic in a game like table tennis. Sports Champions table tennis needs to track actual position without drift. It needs to know if you're up close to attack, or hanging back to defend against a smash. It needs to track the trajectory of your swing so it can calculate where you intended the ball to go, and to challenge you to even make contact with the ball.

I fail to see how Nintendo could make their game any more challenging considering the limitations of the tech.

It does look relatively fun for a party, but there doesn't seem to be much content. 9 games and they're really simple and short, by the looks of things. I've a feeling it'll drop in price fairly quickly though, so I might pick it up at some point.

The package says it has 20 mini games. Are there really only 9? I swore Start the Party had like 20 mini games.

Anyone else getting camera issues in EyePet? The camera feed has a pink colour, and it's extremely distracting and obvious. I don't have any issues with the PSeye colours in the XMB nor SingStar...

I think there are definitely some issues with pointer controls. I experienced the 'drift' to the left and right on The Shoot today.

Not really game breaking or even a minor annoyance for that matter since I fire from the hip - but it does make pointing somewhat redundant.

It is fantastic how opponents in table tennis in championship mode have so much personality and play style to them. Although right now I am hating Boomer and her defending style of game.

I hate Kenji (sp?) in table tennis.

He ALWAYS does a really short serve that I miss 9 times out of 10 (usually dont make contact or I hit it into the net)

Right there is no way they could have put harder game challenges in WSR. I really hope you are not involved in game development.

Anyway this may have strayed too far off topic. I'll get to play more of Move tomorrow in a less crowded setting. Maybe I'll enjoy it a bit more.

I cant wait to get my hands on The Fight.

1) Should give me a nice reason to exercise
2) The chance to beat up others online is another great reason to exercise :lol

Come on, whats not to like? You can work out AND beat up others at the same time! :D

Question. Can you play Start the Party with two controllers...not the actual games, but with two people it seems stupid swapping the controller over every time (especially if you have to strap it in) when you could just have a controller each...

Can you use a USB 2.0 Hub with the camera? I never used my camera so it just collected dust and I just recently bought GH5 and have 2 guitars. I'd like to use a hub and run all those dongles and cords out the back ... especially now that the camera has to stay plugged in it only leaves me one extra USB port (Slim Model).

Anybody use a Hub for things? I did a quick google search but most answers were just regarding RB and GH stuff, not the camera.

I use a hub for my keyboard, PS Eye, Driving Force GT and the charger for my headset. No problems at all. And it's pretty nice to be able to hide the hub and hence most of the cables.

Edit - and it's a cheap, non-powered hub.

Yes, i'm using a hub, no problems whatsoever. It must be usb 2.0 or you won't get a picture, but I don't think many people are still using 1.0, but so you know :)

Im enjoying the Playstation move so far.

The family is currently playing Sports Champions and Start the party. We're also using the Beat Sketchers demo to play Pictonary...

I always put so much spin on the ball in table tennis. Any idea why?

The angle with which you hold the racket and the movement of your wrist at the moment of hitting the ball do this. If you do not intend to spin it, try to stabilize your wrist and not flick it while waiving with your hand.

i ended up getting 2 moves, a navi and sports champions... my wife and i are constantly playing ping pong and frisbee golf with some tumble when we need a breather. This thing is awesome.

Yeah, try and hit the ball straight on with the racket. If you want to intentionally impart spin you want to flatten/level out the racket.

Ok, I couldn't help myself and against better judgment I got the move and sports champion. Right now I am playing the Ruse demo and I am having so much fun. I couldn't ply this game without the move. Bring on more!

Time for some SC.

I'm mostly interested in how Move is performing, as I no longer have a PS3. Anyone seen any ads for this at all?
Not nearly as much as they should be, but I have seen the Kevin Butler moves in one. Or a 30-second variation of it.

Just posted a short write up of my impressions of EyePet in 3D. Overall, I like it. They even included a 3D settings option!

I think Sport Champions is still my favorite.

Awesome, great news! I'm also getting a DFGT in the future and would love to be able to hide all the hubs and cords behind.

Be aware that the non-powered USB-Hubs probably cant deliver enough juice for some peripherals. Controllers may not charge, camera may not work, since it requires the USB power for itself, but the hub divides that power among other connected items.

True in some cases (regarding charging etc). But camera, wheel and charger for the official headset works just fine from a non-powered hub.

Edit - I suppose it might be an issue if you have a hub with several ports thus limiting the power it can send to the different ports. My hub is a simple 4-port hub.
