PlayStation Now: Stream PS4 Games in 2017

WIsh we could use ps now on the mac also. Have been waiting since forever now. Is there any news or hope of this coming soon to Mac also?

Excellent news. I have a friend who really wants to play Horizon (has one hell of a PC but no consoles) and would love to be able to stream PS4 games to his PC.

Drop into this? I have no idea what that means.

I only asked "I wonder". I hope not. Because I'd rather not buy anymore digital PS4 games if they won't play on PS5.

Was supposed to be deep. But I believe backwards compatibility for PS3 is cell bound and that's why psnow is needed. That shouldn't be the case for PS4

PSNow was intially built from big server boards that had 6-8 full PS3 hardware sets on board.

Arrival of PS4 support means that Sony has upgraded servers with new gear.

So did they get rid of all the other clients because they are upgrading the video codec? I guess that doesn't explain why the Samsung TV app would be gone.

Then it'll be the first Playstation console that I won't buy. Despite this being my uncapped internet connection.

I'm jealous. Still, with that kind of speed, PS Now is limited to 720p/30

Sony add external HDD support to their PS4s ... Offer PS4 games via PS Now ... Don't be surprised to find out you'll be able to download these PS4 games.

With all Xbox One games also coming to PC, plus this new development, there's never been a better time to be a PC gamer.

Sorry to correct you not all , if you heard Phil recent Vid with ryan mccafrey .There still going to be XboxOne only games and more coming and others will go to PC

Don't get ahead of yourself there

Didn't Phil Spencer also just say all Scorpio games will be on PC?

"So I do think it's a little different than a traditional console launch, where you have to launch, say, five games on day one. I told the team I don't want to do that because it's a part of the family of the same systems, every game on it will be playable on Xbox One, Xbox One S, Scorpio, and frankly on Windows 10 as well."

im surprised they're doubling down, and actually offering what most people would want (except the whole actual downloading) after taking it off some platforms, that's so not like sony lol
they usually just take it to the back and off the poor thing

I'm interested in seeing the server hardware. Are they housing custom PS4 server cards? Or are the virtualizing existing AMD based PC server hardware?
It will lost likely be high density like a blade center. Rack space is expensive so they will have to put as much computing nodes as possible in a rack.

A reaction to Microsoft or always on the cards? (or both?)

Time to roll this into PS+ or perhaps a higher PS++ tier.

My guess is that this was in the cards since the original concept of PSNow. I said before and say again, PSNow is (IMO) the real reason why Sony didn't want EA Access on their platform.

Rolling it out as the way to get PS3 games was the initial driver, but eventually, Sony would love it if these services kept expanding. SaaS is a thing, both Sony and MS are slowly working towards that goal.

PS Now has plenty of third party games on the platform and some ps3 exclusives aren't on the service. I guess the same is going to happen here. I don't think it will be new games until maybe after a few years if they actually decide to put them there considering that some PS3 exclusive aren't on PS Now.
