Possible Kojima Productions Reveal in Three Days?

explain please?

MGS4 says that after MG1, Big Boss' body was recovered by Dr. Madnar and rebuilt for his Snatcher Project. Big Boss in MG2 is basically the first "cyborg" of the series. After he is defeated in MG2 by Snake, Zero/The Patriots recover him and plug him indefinitely to the AI system. When his body is later taken by Raiden/Eva/Ocelot, they rebuild him using parts of Solidus (and Liquid I think, I forget) and such. For whatever reason (why not just have Madnar rebuild him as a Snatcher I don't know). Big Boss sets out to find where Zero is hiding so he can end everything once and for all.

Would be cool if in that MGPO2 game you not only played as Big Boss from MPO to MG2, but also in his mission to find Zero. I doubt the old man was just hiding at some resort with a nurse by his side.

Sounds like the PSP game is going to be download only. (since it's a PSP GO game also)

why does that make it download only when they have said they will still sell psp 3000? there would be no point in doing that if they didnt keep UMD alive

I see now, but wasn't that doctor
killed in MG2

The Snatcher/Metal Gear universe link has always been fun for like a background thing because Kojima loves to reference, but I wouldn't like it to become a main plot point or whatever. Keep em separate.

snatcher means half machine, whats so important about it then?
In the game Snatcher that Kojima made, the meaning of a Snatcher is slightly different. There are a bunch of robots trying to take over the human race and they are called Snatchers.

Pfft! Same universe. Deal with it :D

METAL GEAR is SNATCHER.

They are hyping it for PSP GO. PSP GO has no UMD drive. Both PSP 3000 and PSP GO can play download game.

It's just a guess.

Please Kojima Productions made the new PSP MG have a modern God of War/MGS2 style camera. Those are perfect camera systems for handheld games.

This.

Man I hope there is a console game in addition to the PSP on. Total letdown if PSP only. Then again Kojima did say the game would be geared for the Japanese market where psp games actually sell. But then he also said the new game is being made by MGS4 team, so that gives me hope for a console game.

Or it's to tell you that this is going to be a very different game and quality than MPO was.

Big Boss was
made using some parts of Liquid (but not all), he was mainly rebuilt by Dr. Madnar, then captured by Zero and put to sleep. Solidus' body was used as a decoy, to make everyone think Big Boss was dead. When JD was destroyed he woke up and found Zero.

Also I think the mask is The Boss on ice...she is after all, the reason for everything ;)

They used parts from Solidus too, I remember that. That's why his body has no legs.

lol, Kojima.

Coming to think about it... MGS1 could be played perfectly with a normal PS1 controller (without analogs)

They should build the game so it's exactly like MGS in terms of controls. So no analogs needed.

Yeah. The whole "Big Boss is half-Snatcher!" thing from MG2: Solid Snake was more than likely a joking reference at the fact that Big Boss was a purple robot in Snake's Revenge.

Kojima and Suda kept saying they would make it after they finished the projects they were working on, then starting new projects that weren't Snatcher.
When and where was this announced? I remember the Project S radio drama announcement, but I don't remember a Snatcher Wii announcement. Did I miss something?

The Mask teaser is still a mystery...sure it could be Lord of Shadows, but then wouldn't the other developer have a logo on the site too? I recall Kojima saying he was directing two games...one in a similar fashion(MG game) and something new(w/e Mask alludes to).

Also LoD is being developed in Madrid by Mecury Steam. That would involve some heavy collaboration between the two companies for KJP to have enough involvement to warrant a teaser site.

And yet it turned out to be true.

A new MGS for PSP is great news, as long as another one is coming to PS3 as well. I'm certainly looking forward to both.

yup. I second this. saw the video. Um, yeah, I'm not excited about the PSP product.

a) didn't care for ACID
b) don't game on PSP much if ever... been collecting dust for MOnnnnntthhhhssss

MGS Portable Ops is nothing like the AC!D games, it's a proper game like the other four. Hopefully MGS fans will be encouraged to try and find it somewhere to play it because it's totally worth it.

So have we determined whether the PSP game was the Raiden one or the Big Boss one?

Since there was no specific mention of 'Portable Ops', in the QORE video, it could be it, or it could be Raiden.

MPO was the most similar MG game to MGS1.

DMeisterJ: From what I understood from the Famitsu interview, the cyborg one is a PS3 (maybe 360 too) game, being made by the MGS4 team, to be released maybe next year or even later. The Big Boss one is the PSP game.

They will continue releasing UMD's. PSP 3000 is will still be on shelfs.

I'm pretty sure I know what you're trying to say, but it still looks like you (and others) have forgotten that all PSPs can play downloaded titles. It's not the DSi situation, thank goodness.

So it'll probably be Portable Ops 2 then.

I still think it might have some connection to the MG countdowns. The mask appearing on the Next page, the photoshop overlays of the mask on Snatcher Raiden/Sunny/Gray Fox/Olga/Lyndall Jarvis -- it's all very curious.

I'm going to repost this:

Extract from the interview
"I think the game is gonna be sold mainly in Japan, but it's going
to have a world wide release. To me it's "xxxx". I can't call this "x", but we are putting a lot of work into the story, also it's being
made by the MGS4 staff. "
- Why mainly in Japan?
This could be because is a psp game

- If this is MGS5 why would Kojima say that is being made by the MGS4 staff?
MGS5 being made by the MGS4 staff is obvious. MGSPortable on the other hand, is not.

- Why say that they are putting a lot of work into the story? Again, obvious thing for the next main MGS on console.

Knowing this I think that the game is not MGS"5". It's going to be an expansion for MGS4, a spinoff for PS3(and 360?) or a portable game.
But maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Now, I really think that there's only a new Metal Gear (for psp) or that the Famitsu interview was only for the psp game (Kojima doesn't talk about two games)

I have to correct myself there:-

He was rebuilt using parts of Solidus as well...and not by Dr. Madnar...and it was GW not JD (that led the way to Zero)...and he was awake before that.

okay so i just got back from taking a 4 hour test to get a job at the local shipyard and I've been spending time in the psp go thread, and i saw the qore video that announced new metal gear for psp.

is it the general consensus that the teaser site is for the new psp metal gear, or do we know if there is a new console game in the works?

i hope it's both...

all this hyping and überteasing just for some kind of a PSP Portable Ops 2 ....?
if so, just imagine the real MGS5 teasing campaign then: five epic months of confusing letters and stormfronts and countdowns of announcements of announcements?
on the other hand: this is Kojima we are talking about.

I dunno guys. Don't you think that if this was a Portable Ops title that they would use an art style similar to this:

metal-gear1.jpg

metal-gear3.jpg

The stuff in the teaser looked like a more modern MGS4-like art style.

how can they rebuild him form parts of the clones that have FUCKING FOXDIE IN THEM?

Big Boss' genetic code is slightly different from Liquid's and Solid's. Regardless, the original FOXDIE was never programmed to kill neither Solidus (and hence Big Boss, since their genetic code is exactly the same) nor Solid.

Not to mention that the virus dies with its host.

Well they are making a PSP MG game, so... no:p

Sequel doesn't necessarily need to use the exact same art style as the first one ..
