Possible Kojima Productions Reveal in Three Days?

He teleported!

Or Konami's?

Dude, he was a scout. He learned all that bladework and how to track people. He tells you how to track Naomi in the game!

Anyway, he may have teleported out of the Arsenal Gear situation, but if thats the case, it seems that this happens only in extreme situations.

What were those flashing letters and numbers again?

R is clearly for Rising and P for Peace Maker, so I'm still hoping they'll announce MGS5 as there was a "5".

Currently, the teaser site has S (or possibly 5), 3, e, P, E and R. Based on images in the magazine, a future update will see the following added: the letter O or the numeral 0, C, and 6.

Kojima toyed with Hamamura as Hamamura attempted to make some sense out of the numbers. Hamamura pointed to an image from the site and said that it was a "5." To which Kojima responded, "Eh? That looks like a 5?" This could suggest that it's actually an S.

There are your letters and numbers.

Ok, here's my final guess based on a wild hunch:

5RPSCe360

There's going to be 3 games:

Rising (5RPSCe360): Which will see a release on the 360 (5RPSCe360), PS3 (5RPSCe360), and PC (5RPSCe360).

Peace Walker (5RPSCe360): Going to be released on the PSP (5RPSCe360... P used again of course)

MGS5 (5RPSCe360): Since it wasn't announced today, I'm gonna assume that it's PS3 exclusive (5RPSCe360)

There, I solved it. Don't ask why and how, I'm just that good. I want my cookie now.

Press site. They're taking their info straight from Voltage PR, so in 99,9% it is the real deal.

To sum it, the KojiPro projects are:

1. Metal Gear Solid: Rising (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)
2. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP)
3. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (PS3, Xbox 360)

MADE FROM THE MOTHERFUCKING WIN. Rising for PC!

Also, its a bummer that PSP game is not 2009 title.

Yeah, somehow, I somehow think Konami went the Square route on this, too. Bringing one exclusive game to the PS3 and one multiplat game to please the fans on the Xbox side. PSP game is a bonus. Kojima did mention that Rising was going to be a "Solid" game, but the way you play it would be totally different. That might suggest that a "5" may also be announced to please the fans of the "old" system.

huh

Where does that 5 stand exactly, I wonder. If we don't hear anything with a 5 in its name tomorrow, it'll be safe to assume that they meant 5 as in Rising, but if an MGS5 PS3 exclusive is announced, not only will you deserve a cookie, but holy shit there will be meltdowns :lol

I'm disappointed about Castlevania, I was expecting a new IP considering Kojima has been talking about wanting to make one for years.

I was really hoping we'd get a new MGS, Rising sounds like a new direction, and a spin off, I'm more excited about it than I would have been for MGS5 I think, very cool. So I'm happy with that. Multiplatform too, which is awesome, another warrior in my war to end third party exclusivity.

The PSP game could be cool, obviously we know nothing yet, MPO was crap, but it was start to finish built in under a year, which is obscene for a PSP game with a small-ish team. So this could be amazing.

Overall, if Koji-Pro's two 'next-gen' games includes the Castlevania, I'm a little disappointed. If however he announces a new IP soon, I'd be very happy.

I read that, but I made a stupid mistake by using "5" and "S" at the same time. Yup, it's not a 5. No MGS5 tomorrow.

Here's my guess after correcting that:

RPSCe360

There's going to be 2 games revealed this e3 (RPSCe360):

Rising (RPSCe360): Which will see a release on the 360 (RPSCe360), PS3 (RPSCe360), and PC (RPSCe360).

Peace Walker (RPSCe360): Going to be released on the PSP (RPSCe360... P used again of course)

Which takes us back to what everyone already know the answer to, so there won't be any surprise announcement tomorrow from Konami. I'd give the cookie back but I've already ate it.

Told you guys they were probably working on at least two or three games considering the number of producers they currently have on staff (and that was before the Famitsu interview, yet some crow-eater was telling me I was an idiot for saying so).

Why would they do that? Kojima Productions has always been making two or three games at once. They've done Portable ops, Lunar Knights and that stock market thing at the same time as MGS4, and MGO too.

No, I called you an idiot because you said having more than one producer on a game was 'retarded', and MGS4 had THREE.

Looks like there is room for something else:

So I'm looking forward to MGS:PW. I'm either gonna be buying a new PSP [possibly the GO] or fixing my bro's old one [it doesn't charge anymore, anybody know how i could fix that for a cheap price?]. I'm definitely gonna pick up Rising [MGS Junkie] and I can't wait for the MGS:PW, especially since, unlike apparently over half of GAF, I didn't hate MGS:PO, so I have alot more to look forward to from it. :D

Seriously, though. If anybody knows of a cheap fix for what is apparently a broken charge receiver or whatever its called, please let me know!

One thing I'm not liking about MGS:PW: Have you guys looked at the soldiers they show by the tank in the beginning of the trailer? They're pretty much as heavily equipped as the Frogs. All powered-suits and stuff. Seems too advanced for the 1970s.

I'm going mad! I have a theory about who the ninja is and the more I think about it, the more I check the information, the more I believe it. Wishful thinking maybe, but it's still driving me mad :lol My theory:-

Out of these 5 games, MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4 and MGS Rising, think about the leading playable character:-

In MGS1 (Solid Snake), MGS2 (Raiden), MGS3 (Naked Snake), MGS4 (Solid Snake) and MGS Rising (Raiden)

MGS3 was the prequel to MGS1 and gave you the origins of Solid Snake. More importantly, in MGS3 he was given the code name Snake. The games are separated by one game, in which Snake plays a bit part.

Now take away the games that do not have Raiden, now you are left with MGS2, MGS4 and MGS Rising, have you worked it out yet?

MGS Rising is the prequel to MGS2 and gives you the origins of Raiden. More importantly, in MGS Rising he was given the code name Raiden. The games are separated by one game, in which Raiden plays a bit part. (And by bit part I mean a non -or mostly- playable character).

If that theory is correct...it's not Raiden...it's Raiden's FATHER!!! But who? Raiden became a child soldier in the 80s, after Solidus killed his parents and so (like Snake before him) "Has no family". So who? There is only one person I can think of and the dates match too.

http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Kyle_Schneider

Kyle Schneider. He is from the first game Metal Gear. He is the first Ninja (in Metal Gear 2)...even before Gray Fox. There is only one picture (the one in the link, which is official artwork) and he looks very like Raiden...his hair even looks white/grey. Even though he was a ninja, he only used a gun...Raiden (in MGS4) had a gun but never used it, perhaps Raiden found out and keeps a gun by his side in memory of his father. Kyle Schneider's wife and child were killed, but nobody really knows how or why...this is why he joined Big Boss. What if Solidus thought he had killed Kyle Schneider when he killed Raiden's parents...and Kyle thought his son had been killed. Raiden seemed happy with being a father at the end of MGS2, but seemed hesitant when meeting his son, like he was afraid of repeating the past. Also is that why Roy Campbell wanted to protect Rose and John, so the past could not be repeated.

The only other thing I can think of is that it is indeed Sunny, going by the name of Raiden or it's Schneider's wife, which still works. That's good, but my one's better ;)

That's what I've posted on another forum. Then MGS Peace Walker was announced, set in 1974 and about Big Boss building Outer Heaven, which Kyle helped him do...so my theory seemed to be wrong...but then I noticed that MGS:PW is set in Costa Rica not South Africa (meaning he moves and builds another Outer Heaven). And now this word RESISTANCE is in the background behind the ninja...Kyle Schneider was a resistance member in Metal Gear.

Other stuff:-

Schneider means "to cut" in German, when fighting Snake he uses throwing stars or knives...Lightning Bolt Action? Which kills the gun theory, but opens up another.

A man who was involved with NASA (like The Fury) betrayed by his country, coming down from the sky (like lightning) seeking revenge. Very Kojima like.

Why would Kojima make a happy ending and then take it away? Why would he get something so simple as eye colour wrong? If this game is set after MGS2, why does Raiden have a completely different suit?

Convinced or convinced myself?

Its possible they will announce some new MGO news tommorow as on the ps blog they said we could expect news coming close to the 1 year aniversary of MGS4.

I really wanted Big Boss on next-gen. Deserves it more than Raiden I think... Oh well. A Raiden game could be cool if it deviates from the norm. I don't really want MGS2 part deux.
I'll still play this game but it breaks my heart that they are putting a main story game (let alone a sequel to my favourite game, MGS3) on less powerful hardware. I'll still play it and probably love it, but it would be nice to see a current gen console game which delivered both story wise and gameplay wise.

Wait, so Rising is multiplatform? How do we know this?
think there was a press release which indicated PC, PS3, 360... not in the main text but in the attached description with it

Hopefully from here on out all KP games are multiplatform.

You threw you're credibility out the window, good sir.

The Fury was a scorned Cosmonaut. :D

Wasn't he given that in MGS2, when it gets changed from 'Snake'?

Ballistics, honey, dear?

No.

Just stop yourself.

Raiden got his code name in MGS2. Who Raiden's parents are don't matter. Rising is about Raiden. There is no discussion to be had of this. Please stop yourself and actually try reading the MGS Database (as shitty as it might be). Also, anything you typed about what you're musing as Raiden's father complex is completly unfounded and stupid.

Yeah, I'm not talking about the Raiden we've all played. I'm talking about someone pre Raiden but still called Raiden...like Big Boss was called Snake at first.

Please stop yourself and actually try reading the MGS Database

Read it, I'm living in it :D

Anyway, don't confront me none, as long as I get my rent paid on Friday.

...I don't think Rising is a prequel to MGS2. MGS1's events happened, and two years down the road MGS2 happens. Raiden isn't in a powered suit; this happens when he is caught by the Patriots while attempting to retrieve Big Boss' remains.

You're trying too hard. Even if it was true, your evidence barely supports it. Convinced yourself is my call.

Again my theory was (notice the word "was") that Kyle Schneider was the main character, but with the code name Raiden. I am very aware of how Raiden got his suit, but I wasn't talking about him. Yesterday nobody had one piece of information, and the only reason for using the word "was" is because I've seen a picture of Raiden riding what looks like one of the B'n'Bs...without that no one could have disproved my theory. I didn't just blindly think up some plot, I'm very well versed in the MG plot.

From that one photo it's pretty much obvious what this game will be about.

LOL if that is Crying Wolf. That could mean this takes place during the events of MGS4, but from Raiden's perspective. Reusing assets FTL.

Yeah you're right, they really should just throw the engine away and start from scratch.

Kojima said this is an experiment to build a multiplatform engine, so I wouldn't mind it if they are able to release this early fall 2010 and then do a real MGS5 or a new MG series.
