oh god oh god, watching this in imax, hopefully there's no 3d version there, I don't want no toned down color filter glasses screwing up this masterpiece.
Wasn't it filmed in 3D?

the space jockey(s) are humans, transformed. I also have a feeling that when they die they become fossilized maybe, over a small period of time?
''From The Director of Blade Runner''
If the theater I go to doesn't have the sound up to the edge of comfort and "too fucking loud" I'll be leaving and demanding a refund.
This MUST be experienced properly.
I think the best part was when she(?) was in the pod squirming.
From the trailer it seems like a suit.
Also, 1:36 on the US trailer. Is that what I THINK it is?
People still don't know this? It's an iconic sound effect.
The dialogue? Can't hear it fully.
Avatar ripped off the first 2 ALIEN movies so you can't call Prometheus a ripoff
No, what they show.
And I actually mean 2:38. My YT was delayed.
much better trailer and with much less spoilers.

The international trailer is far better.

Yeah, definitely a Xenomorph.
Edit: not the thing above, but @1:36 mark on the wall.
Yeah I posted a screen a few pages back:
No, what they show.

Yeah, I actually prefer the international one. Less intense, but also far less spoilery. Both simply superb, though.
I really hope the patience found in Alien is here, and Scott really takes his time with the story. No huge rush to the planet and the find and the action; a slow burn through to the midpoint before all hell starts breaking lose.
Interesting that they cite Scott's Blade Runner and Gladiator credentials, without referencing Alien. They clearly don't want to tether Prometheus to the expectations that are now associated with that film.
We've already talked about it.
What I like most about the international trailer is that you can really see how well directed the scenes are without the trailer style cutting. Compare the opening scenes of the international trailer with the same scenes in the US trailer, and there's just so much more room for the characters to breath in the complete scenes.
That's very, very promising news for the actual film itself.
Yeah, like I said, I missed the middle parts of the conversation. I just got back into the thread when I saw the UK trailer was posted.
Plus, the shift in tone between the curiosity/wonderment on Earth and the regret/terror on the alien planet is much more palpable. What I like most about the international trailer is that you can really see how well directed the scenes are without the trailer style cutting. Don't worry about it. Points get brought up over and over and discussed again in threads like this anyway. It's too fast moving to keep track of all the time.
I'm not sure what being 'imax' means exactly, but it will be shown at imax cinemas. Please tell me this is Imax

Oh god yessssss
Not sure why he chose Gladiator over Alien though. Weird choice.

Is this an Alien prequel or not?
I remember reading a few months ago that it was originally supposed to be an Alien prequel but then they changed it...
