PS Plus July offerings for NA

Muramasa for my VITA? T-T Now Im happy!!
Also, Strider is a good addition (no idea about the other). I dont have any of those btw! :)

Are we sure this is it?

There is no announcement on the blog of this, only for EU.

Most likely it will be, anyway. I was wrong on the Wolf Among Us deal. At least Latam got something different one motnth

GAF, do I need to play through 1&2 to get into Deadspace 3? Is it a standalone title?
I would pick up 1 because it's just excellent. 2 is good as well, but seems pretty iterative on the first game overall. There are a few standout moments that are special, but overall the first game was better IMO. The story in the original is more appealing I find if you've haven't played a game in the series as well. Haven't played 3 yet so I can't comment on that.

Youtube video covered them in detail and the video is now private. (i.e. they didn't want it out too early)

Mad at myself for buying Doki Doki full price. Thought the game was terrible and seeing it free is like salt in the wounds. : (

The track record of digital games turning free via PS Plus on PS4 is driving me to not want to buy any digital games on PSN anymore. :/ They should throw in a full retail game here or there, otherwise why would I buy a digital game that I'm not 100% sold on when it looks like it'll go free with PS plus in a few months?

Until the PS4 library grows some more, I'm not buying Psn indie games until late next year, unless I REALLY, REALLY want it day one like Resogun's season pass. Late next year will probably start seeing more AAA games for the I.G.C.

they had muramasa on sale a few weeks back, thats pretty dirty to make it free after just putting it on sale. :/ Vita offerings are disappointing as usual but we're getting strider and dead space 3 so thats cool :) been meaning to play ds3 but my brother wants to play with me and we're still building his pc so I guess we'll be able to play it sooner than expected

From what I've been playing, No you don't. Deadspace 3 takes place after DS2, but the beginning of DS3 touches up on the previous games enough to understand the story.

It probably wouldn't ruin the story to play DS3 first then the first two (in order). But know this, DS1 was so raw when it came out; the horror was surreal. DS2 became less of that and DS3 is like less than what DS2 was.

Dead Space 1 is Resident Evil 4 in space.
Dead Space 2 is Uncharted meets Resident Evil 4 in space
Dead Space 3 is full of microtransactions.
Pretty much, except you don't shimmy half the time in DS2. Lots of space flying though.

Strider is great. I got it on release day and it was totally worth it. I platinumed it. Unfortunately that just leaves Towerfall for me, which I'm sure is great, but I don't have people to play local multi with.

To be fair the microtransactions are completely optional and you can complete the game without using any of it. Having said that, the game is still a piece of shit compared to the first two.

None of these interst me

Haven't had a riveting ps plus game for a while (for my tastes). I don't know if I am going to renew it unless I need to play a ps4 game online down the road

Ps plus is incredible value though. Just $50 a year yet look at the game haul!

Value is subjective though. On the other hand for someone like myself who doesn't play much online and prefers retail titles to downloads, on top of when you have maybe one or two titles from it that you end up beating over the course of a year, it feels more like giving away 50$.

I had a free year so I can't complain though - that said it hasn't appealed to me overall and thus won't renew it

I do see how it can be fantastic value for others however.

Towerfall is great, I already bought it and played a lot when it first came out. Pretty excited to try muramasa, almost bought that one a while ago.

Played Dead Space 1 on PC but not 2, will I be lost?

Great month though, and I still have a huge backlog thanks to ps+ and steam sales... :(

great ps4 offerings. wanted to buy both of those games, but haven't been playing anything lately unfortunately. glad i'll be getting them for free and can get around to them when i hopefully get back into gaming.

Because they are games that he wants to play? Don't downplay indies or small titles as something that people won't buy a console for.

Sorry, didn't see where he was talking about himself. And I'm not downplaying indies. I enjoy them. I think most people expect some decently major titles at this point though. At least Knack or something.

So now I just won't buy indie games on PS4 if they are going to give me all of them. I bought Strider and still haven't beat it, and now it is free. Muramasa is nice.
