I was really wishing for a Connect360 patch... I don't want to pay another $20.

Markade said:I'm getting the error that port 9385 or 9386 are in use. Where can I check to see what application is using them. I checked the router page(tomato firmware) but couldn't find anything.
bluheim said:Probably because EyeConnect is running somewhere on your system, using both ports. Check with Activity Monitor is there is no EyeConnect... process running. If this is the case, kille them and also delete everything EyeConnect related from your Macintosh HD:Library:Applications Support folder.

Markade said:Yup thanks, that was the problem but now I'm getting the same error as B-Ri. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

I got a error trying to play a PSP formated video off a external hard drive connected to my mac. I'll have to test again tonight.
I may have to forward some ports:
TCP port 9386 and UDP port 9385
I don't remember if I opened those or not.
Geoff9920 said:If it worked for both 360 & the PS3 I'd probably get it, but I don't see the logic of splitting them up. Seems kinda greedy.
As I already bought connect360 a while ago, nope. But I get what you're saying. Even if I didn't own connect 360, $40 for both would be too much.CrapSandwich said:Would you be okay with it if it was one product for $40?

Connect360 does, so I'd assume they'll add the feature to MediaLink at some point. That had image and audio transcoding from the beginning.qirex said:Do any of these programs transcode Apple Lossless? I guess I've been spoiled by my squeezebox.
bluheim said:What ? So, iTunes streaming is working for you ?
-xBerserker- said:Yes I only tested it for a few minutes last night. But it worked. I'm on Leopard as well.
Ensure that no firewall is active on your Mac or that ports 9385 (UDP) and 9386 (TCP) are open. Go to the MediaLink preference pane (in System Preferences on your Mac) and click Start to start MediaLink
Kuran said:So... are your music files AAC-encoded? And they show up?
cilonen said:I'm in as soon as they sort out the issues.
I've organised my imported (rather than bought) TV shows (in proper format) as TV Shows in iTunes, and it doesn't seem to be seeing them.
Sees movies though, although I got the 2101 errors constantly and I'm not willing to screw around with my router. Music worked.
DeejayKnight said:If the issue can only be fixed through routers and you're not willing to correct them there, how are you going to get the problem corrected?
noire said:Opening ports on a router is little to no effort.
cilonen said:I've never figured it out on my shitty ancient freebie Belkin wireless access point / netgear ASDL modem setup - I have to change the subnet I'm on to get into the Belkin web configureation, then change back to the usual subnet to get into the Netgar - I just can't be arsed to screw around with that. It's worth dropping $20 on this if it just works without having to configure anything, but if it doesn't play nice with what I have now I can live without it until I switch ISP and get a free home hub router to play with.
Aske said:Music, however, refuses to show up. It's all in iTunes, but no matter how I try to access the folder the PS3 sees nothing.
Onix said:So no PC version?
bluheim said:Is your iTunes Music folder on an external hard-drive ?
By the way, 1.0.2 is out. Those that still have 2101 problems should try it.
tinfoilhatman said:I wonder what you guys would say if you saw Vista media center and 360 working together.
-xBerserker- said:Music and photos seem to work. But once I go try a few videos I start getting these errors. Then I can't use anything else. Also my .divx files are NOT showing up either, and I have that exact file on the PS3 hard drive and it plays great.
noire said:I would say 'nice, glad that PC is working out for you.'
Seriously though, I did the XP Media Center + 360 thing awhile back (probably around launch), and it was ok.
Then I did Connect360 and loved it, since my mac had more of my media on it, etc.
Then I did Mediatomb + PS3 and thought that it was a hassle to set up, lacked some polish, but got the job done for free.
Now I'm doing Medialink + PS3 and think it's the best I've used. Album art & folder structure really are great additions.
