PSP Remote Joy plugin! [PSP playable on PC via USB cable]

Disable the VSH version for now, see if you can get it working ingame. What kind of memory stick are you using, what concurrent plugins do you have running in vsh etc, do you have a slim or an old psp are helpful in figuring out the prob.

I'll try that now, but right now I'm running 3.71 M33, using a Slim, all the other plugins are disabled. And I'm using a uh, Sandisk 4gb

Edit: Right well my PSP is turning on now, but when I load up a UMD, it freezes on the white PSP screen and then the PSP shuts down.

what the flying fuck.,

i bought the official sony tv out cable for my lite, playing games in a little box on tv.

now a free homebrew app can run FULLSCREEN to an USB cable

WHAT THE FUCK.

can someone help me figure out the problem of why every game crashes when i enter the save or load menu's ?

i have a fat psp 1004 model, with custom firmware 3.9 m33-2 on it.

You're using an old remotejoy build, the newer ones patched that problem up. I don't recommend remotejoy much on the 1000 series, a lot of games run into memory problems.

i really don't know where to find the newer versions, googling just gets me nowhere .. can you please link it for me ? or PM me if you think it could get you in trouble (not that it should).

It doesn't work on 3.40 OE anyway, that's ancient. 3.71M33+ only.

Yeah i know, in few days i will update his PSP.

Anyways, i dug out older version of Remote Joy, and it works...

Man, how the heck did you guys get this to work?
I got 3.71 M33-4
I have the driver installed on my pc.

When I enable the plugins and load up a game, the psp hangs on the psp screen and turns off. Also, the PC doesn't seem to be able to detect it.

It could however, on the older one.

works like a charm

any way to disable the psp screen while viewing on the computer?
a pc joystick support would be cool, but seems impossible

If games that you want to play are being released on a portable system, what are you going to do? Even if you hardly travel.
yep this is me usually. I play my portables at home more than I do elsewhere.

The point of a psp is to play wipeout killzone and crush. Until the home consoles fix this problem the psp is a great system anywhere.

Does this work on 4.01 M33-2? I keep getting a blank white screen after I launch the usbhosts/remotejoygl from gui.exe.

okay

THERE IS JOYSTICK (and keyboard) SUPPORT FOR THIS :awesome:
i had to look at the japanese version to figure it out because the font on the english exe is messed up

What about steering wheel support? I'd love to play Ridge Racer PSP with a wheel.

i'd imagine yes, the steering wheel would identify as a normal joystick on the pc right? then you'll have to config the analog stick in the config options (press esc, first tab)

You can add support for any type of joystick, you just have to create the appropriate mapping file. However, its not a very well documented feature. If Schrade is still around GAF, he might be able to explain more.

edit: Didn't realize rjlite has inbuilt support. +1

only 2 setting you need:
27281231qc5.png

both checked, one is window always on top and the other is keep aspect ratio (when resizing)
on the right drop down box, you can rotate the screen 90, 180, 270 degrees
the left 2 boxes are window position when starting, the right 2 boxes are window resolution when starting

pretty self explanatory, you have to select direct for d-pad to work, and axis for analog stick to work
hold the button on the controller THEN press the corresponding OX/\[]etc or else it wont recognize

There's an english translated version just a few posts up Anony.

The plugin doesn't seem to work with any UMDs though.

Those versions aren't RemoteJoyLite. Different apps.

Also, I'm surprised no one has posted the home page for RemoteJoyLite: http://cgi.din.or.jp/~takakind/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=RemoteJoyLite

It's all in Japanese but maybe someone who understands it can translate some stuff.

Anony: how do you get the fonts in the menu to display correctly? Mine are all messed up:

I have the east asian languages installed on my XP (Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages tab -> Install files for East Asian languages) and I can't get the fonts to work.

that's what i said before, the font in the english version is all messed up, i opened the jap version
I've tried both versions and both have the same font problem on my system.

Try this temporarily.

Control Panel> Regional & Language options > Advanced tab.

"Select a language to match the language version of the non-unicode programs you want to use" and set it to Japanese.

I'm really liking this build:

- Easy to configure gamepad use, complete with analog options, deadzones.
- Fullscreen+Aspect ratio.
- Video Capture+Sound capture. No need for a third party app, you can configure what codec to use. It's also easy to toggle with the F12 key.
- Disable PSP screen while outputting to your screen.

I think you can also define which memory address to use on the PSP, and theres a thread priority setting to tinker with. I haven't been able to crash this yet (apart from trying a game from UMD)

This one, I meant the previous page (english version)

you are THE MAN !

that link is the best version of the software i have found so far, and i don't even have any problems with the font that most of the guys here have.

:D

edit : OH COME ON MAN !!.. the game's are running butter smooth but the thing crashes my psp every time i enter a save load menu :(

why the fuck does that keep happening, WHY MEE !!!

edit 2 : THANK YOU MAGICAL F3 BUTTON.. YOU HAVE SAVED ME !

Yeah, for PSP1000, use F3 to turn it off temporarily during save/load and then toggle it back on to keep going on. Do you have Crisis Core? Or GoW? Those games push the PSP to its limits, so I'm wondering how well this plugin copes with them on the 1000. They work fine on the slim.

well right now the only game i've tried this new version with is Brave Story, i hope CC will run good on it because thats what i plan to play next.

here's a few direct feet F11 key screens from Brave story with the aspect ratio turned on .. wonder why they appear so small ?..

and even though 333 mhz drains the battery faster, having the software turn the screen off should help retain it.

don't mind tatsuya's stats, that is just for testing purposes >_>

I checked it and runs perfectly in fullscreen (pressing F1 enables/disables FPS count):
Wipeout Pulse (45fps)
Ridge Racer 2 (60fps)

I have a PSP1004 with CF 4.01 M33-2, and a laptop with Vista32. I must test it playing with a Dual Shock 3 controller.

The only thing I miss is some emulator-like filter to enhace the image and hide the huge obvious jaggies (PSP has 480x272 and my laptop 1280x800), or some option to put it at 2x or 4x PSP resolution while in window mode.

BTW what is the key to turn on video capture?

the video capture key is F12, the image capture key is F11.

Ok thanks.

Edit: It works perfectly. You can also choose the video codec and also to configure it if you want.

Sony must implement this in a PS3: to plug the PSP (not only Slim & Brite) to the PS3 to play PSP games in the TV using the Dual Shock 3 / Sixaxis, with their upscaling / enhacing video feature, and add to it the "save youtube videos" (there whould be a couple of free trigger buttons).

I got this to finally work!!!

To put it simply, I updated to M33 4.01, I was on 3.71 and it didn't work. Works like a charm now.

Oi. Got it running with monster hunter freedom 2 until I went to do some khezu training with the greatsword. PSP froze as soon as I spawned in the first area (although the audio was working as if I had just sat there) and I had to remove the battery.

By the looks of it maybe I'm using an old version of remotejoy. All I could find so far was 1.52.

Also, AVG kept popping up warnings. I'm going to delete everything and assume that I need a newer version.

[edit] shit, did I just need to press F3 to turn it off? Maybe it saves data when I enter the area?

Hmmm. Another weird problem.

When I go to video capture, it records everything absolutely perfectly. However, it can't record the sound. I have my psp audio connected to the line in, and I have the recording device set to "what you hear". However when I star recording, the wav file just ends up being a 0kb file. It records if I turn the microphone on, but that's not what I want.

anyone have luck using a DS2/DS3? RemoteJoy sees it fine, I can input the buttons in the config screen, but they don't end up doing anything. HAlp?

EDIT: Works with jpn exe. GOW: COO with DS2 :D
