Psychonauts is $2 on Steam. BUY IT NOW.

I won't buy it since I still possess the XBox version, but everybody who haven't played it yet should buy it. The gameplay is so-so but the writing and design makes it well worth it.

Are there any benefits over the gog.com version of the game. I was going to get it there as well, but for $8 less...

No DRM whatsoever and guaranteed to work with current PC/Windows OS which isn't the case with Steam.

plus extra materials like artworks and manuals are available once you get the gog version.

Great writing, terrible platforming.
Regardless, you could probably do worse for $2
Quoted for truth. Got the game for Xbox, can't even complete the bloody last level, it's so poorly designed.

I get what you're saying, but Psychonauts is actually a good, fun game.

No. It was another "me, too" platformer whose only saving grace was being a Schafer game with some interesting characters.

$2 is an insane deal. A few months ago at K-Mart I found the Xbox version for $1.99. I bought two: one to play, one to keep sealed, waiting for Tim Schafer's autograph.

I love Psychonauts, but after playing it twice, I could never get enough "some collectable" to get the cobweb remover thing I need in the Milkman place.

Also, I would get this on the PC, but I really would enjoy it so much better on a console (3d platformers I love on consoles.)

I will likely buy it anyway, since I do love the game. I don't understand what people are talking about with terrible platforming?

Finally, after many years, this game has finally come into my price range!

Seriously though, I'd missed out on this one and always wanted to try it. For $2 it's going on my hard drive whether I play it right now or not :lol

Why the hate on the last level? I don't remember having any troubles with it. Of course, nothing beats Milksman Conspiracy.
Why would you do that? said:

Me neither.

Not worth $2 imo

Yes, it´s worth much more.

I have an original PC version with box and everything that I bought day one. Unforgettable game, say what you want about the platforming (it´s decent) but the visual design it´s unmatched. It´s a great trip.

I have no clue what the complaints of the last level are about.

The game itself is pretty okay, I guess. I'm never going back to it.

i'm playing it with a 360 controller. apart from the triggers, everything works perfectly. and even then u can use some program to get those things working. plays beautifully on a 360 controller :D

This is so tempting!

But I really must save every penny for a new video card. Besides, I already beat Psychonauts when it was free on Gametap.

Beyond the horribly frustrating escort mission it opens with, I don't either. I loved Meat Circus sans Lil Oly.

I almost want to buy it been though I already played it and the fucking game won't play on my crap pc when I tried the demo. Maybe I'l try the demo again and see if I can run it now that I have my drivers updated.

Wow that's another great deal that I simply cannot pass.

That game is really nice. I'll have to find my old usb sidewinder controller. It's probably somewhere in the basement.

Would this translate well to a dualshock 3 using JoyToKey? Or is there a lot of mouse point-and-click adventure stuff?

edit: or third-person camera control?

I will buy to support the dream of a PC version of Brutal Legend that will never materialize.

For those who have played it, how long does it take to to completete the game?

Ok ok I bought it! who am I to say no to a 2$ game?
I'll play it after I finish AC2 and ME2, is it true this game is superior to Brutal Legend?

Pretty sure it's got built in controller support that works fine.

Fuck no it isn't. Not in any way. Don't even know why even the biggest fanboy on the planet would say some ridiculous shit like that.

Bought. I downloaded it for my 360 like 2 years ago but it took up a shitload of space and I didn't get very far. At $2 there's no reason to pass on this, unless you already own it.

Even though my nearly broken laptop probably won't even be able to play this, £1 is just way too good to resist :)

Ugh, the demo was hard to play with mouse and keyboard. I'm tempted, but I'd need to buy a controller for it. :\

Bought. I already own the retail copy for PC, but it's one of those annoying four disc affairs that's a pain in the ass to reinstall and I'd pay $2 to avoid that.

For 2 dollars it's awesome. I was happy when I bought it at 15.

But I take issue with this game being "amazing".

Seriously...It had clever art design, and the lungfish level and the milkman level make the game. I personally found everything else just ok. As a game, I felt there were better platformers out there.

Still though, for 2 dollars you owe it to yourself to experience the game at least once.

Have a backlog of 13 games i have to get thru.
That's like me.

Before the Steam Holiday sale that is. I don't even bother counting anymore.

Buy now, play later. That is the great gaming credo of... someone.

Easy there buddy, I am just asking since I have always heard good thing about Psychonauts when with BL it's always more of a "like it/hate it" thing.

I'll have to pick this up. I had it on ps2 way back when but never finished it due t oa bug that deleted me save.

Don't worry yourself. It's way better than Brutal Legend

(Which I bought on PS3 to support Shaeffer, Heavy Metal, and new ideas, to get a shoehorned RTS with amazing music and nothing original in terms of open world scavenger hunting).
