Just got a shipment due to the Cyber Monday sale... anyone else try s'mores yet? It's a little chalkier than usual (weird texture) but the taste kind of blew my mind. Recommended.

I have not tasted a good quest bar yet, needless to say, I haven't tasted many. From what I had (coconut cashew), they are chewy as fuck and dont taste good at all, a bit of chalky taste to it.

I could eat the Cookie Dough bars for the rest of my life. I start my morning with one every day (I do limit myself to one a day, surprisingly). I've added so much Quest to my diet/routine, it's not even funny (their protein chips, their peanutbutter protein cups, etc.). Their stuff has definitely helped me lose/maintain weight over the past few months. I'd love for Quest to make a fiber-less variant of there bars though. I'd be downing that shit all day!

These things sure are pricey! So far I've tried Banana Nut (ok), Cookies n' Creme (pretty good) and Chocolate Peanut Butter which was disgusting. That one tasted like a giant Tootsie Roll and had the same texture as one. Awful. I may try some other flavors in the future if I can find 'em at a decent price.

I just bought 24-bars of Chocolate Peanut Butter by accident, though it was the cups. That said, they don't taste terrible. It's a mix of that patented Quest chalkiness and something reminiscent of Reese's Puffs cereal. Like it better than the Brownie flavor.

I thought the taste was pretty good, but it definitely feels like you are eating sand. They are ungodly dry.

I might get them again sometime, but make sure I have some milk with it.

Got around to trying the White Chocolate Raspberry and Lemon Cream Pie bars I bought a few days back.

Protip - NEVER buy Lemon Cream Pie. Gross. White Chocolate Raspberry wasn't terrible, but it was 5g carbs vs 3g for the superior Cookies and Cream flavor.

Turns out that the shop near me has the best deal around....$1.88/bar when you buy 2 boxes worth. Guess that's where I'll stock up! And I've lost ~8 pounds in a week by cutting my carb intake down to ~15-20g a day (Quest Bar for breakfast, sometimes also for lunch, eat a normal dinner). Once I get down to the 165-170 (9-14 more pounds to go), I'll go to 25-30g carbs a day.

Has anyone purchased Quest bars and had them be hard like rocks? I've purchases a few cases of the cookie dough and had quite a few like this. Should I write to Quest about this?

Yep. Never had that prob buying direct from their site tho.

Yeah, even when I bring one in to eat that I accidentally left in the car, it's not super hard like a rock. It's more taffy like.

Quest will take care of it I'm sure.

Mine have all been like this. (I did buy one box from Quest, but I can't recall if it was softer) I stopped eating them for a bit because I was afraid for my teeth (you can heat them up, but I personally think it degrades the taste). The natural line of bars might be slightly more edible- the chocolate peanut butter ones I just received don't require microwaving to eat safely.

Try microwaving the super rock hard ones for 10-15 seconds. It usually softens them up a bit. But yeah... I get one like that only extremely rarely.

I just had an epiphany.

I (and others) complain that Quest bars are about $2 each.

A (good) can of tuna, is about $2.

A Quest bar has close to the same amount of protein. Within 4-5 grams.

Quest bars are much tastier.

Conclusion: stop bitching and buy Quest bars.

Anyone have any suggestions for lactose-free protein powder, like quest bars? Whey protein isolate is fine, since it removes most of the lactose. Whey protein concentrate is not though. Sucks I have to give up my optimum nutrition whey because of this.

White chocolate raspberry is the one seed brehs

Need to do a cost analysis on if they are even worth it cost wise compared to whole foods though

Why is "No soy protein" a selling point? From what I've seen, the links between soy protein and higher levels of estrogen are bunkum, and soy is one of the only legumes that is a complete protein.

This is a good bar because of the low sugar content, but "lack of soy protein" is total bro science.

Nuke it for 10 seconds. It's what I do for all of them other than Cookies N Cream

Yep. As a meal replacement, they are incredibly cheap.

Can get them for $16.04 a box right now if you have AMEX. Lots of flavors gone though.

The "complete" protein doesn't mean much either though. Just means something contains all the essential amino acids.

My problem with soy is it scored low on bioavailability tests. Which means your body can't really make good use of the protein. So it's not really worth it.

Quest bars are a mixed bag. I always end up having to pick bars carefully at gnc as some are hard like bricks and some are oh so soft and delicious. Cookie dough still reigns supreme for me with white chocolate raspberry in second and oreo third.

Order direct from Quest. Have yet to receive a batch that wasn't perfect, been ordering for a year now.

We had a fresh n easy go out of business here last week. Everything was 50% off. I bought every quest bar they had. Several boxes worth.

Pretty sick since I eat like 3 per day on average.

Don't get people saying they're too expensive. You can get them Buy 3 Get 1 Free at GNC for around 8.69. That's 2.17 for an item that can be viewed as a bonafide meal replacement depending on your lifestyle. You can eat two of them at a time and it'd still be cheaper and relatively healthier than ordering food off most fast food menus.

I never knew to check if we had a Quest bar thread.

I am going to be making my own Quest bars - only better!

I have already ordered the VitaFiber that is the secret ingredient in these bars.

I will be using only the finest Organic Whey Protein Powder from grass-fed cows.

For flavors, the first try will be a chocolate-peanut butter combo.

I am going to call them Dennis Bars.

Wow, never knew there was a thread. These things are awesome.

The cookie dough quest bar is so good. I just wish it was a bit cheaper!

Yes. I love these bars but when I am on a budget, it is really hard to justify.

Woah! I love Quest bars... just looked that stuff up, is it really that easy?

Okay, calling straight BS on this. They're not too expensive; you're just not willing to prioritize them over other dietary decisions. That's all. Not saying them being cheaper wouldn't be nice, but considering what they provide, I think their pricing is reasonable. Especially if you're within reach of a GNC or any other place that sells them at a discounted rate (of which there are many. I never pay full price for them).
