Got my order yesterday and tried the Mint Chocolate ones, they taste great, but not as good as I was expecting. Smores and Cookie Dough are still my favourites.

Anyone ever tried these ?

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00BMHB4T6/

I'm trying to find a (cheaper) alternative to Quest Bars as I can't stand their texture anymore. I like the flavors but that gooey texture is a no-no for me. And yeah I've been buying them here in montreal at almost 4CAD/bar so the price is a deal breaker. Good thing is I only eat 2 or 3 per week but still ...

well they them here in stores. I'll buy one and try it out

Yeah, you can get them lots of places. Just go to a supermarket and buy one to see if you like them.

Those are gooey too, except for the nuts which give them some crunch. I think all protein bars have to be gooey for some reason

I avoid anything with sugar alcohols. Ewww

Never seen them in store at my local supermarkets in downtown montreal :( I don't own a car so I don't shop at big retail stores like Walmart.

It's settled then. I'm not buying. Thank you for saving me the hassle.

What's wrong with them except the diarrhea if you consume a lot ?

  • VitaFiber
  • Fastachi Roasted Hazelnut Butter (a.k.a. crack cocaine)
  • Organic Raw Cocoa
  • Organic Raw honey (I guess some other kind of liquid sugar could be used instead).
  • Organic Whey protein powder (just straight whey - no shitty additives of any kind)

Then it is all about getting the consistency just right. Too much whey and they become too dry. Too much VitaFiber and honey and you get a sticky mess.

Any estimation of how much sugar is in each of your homemade bars?

Considering how you're pointing out how how important it is to get the ratio right, would you mind posting your ratios? You provided an ingredient list, not a recipe :)

S'mores is GOT. Warm it up for 10 seconds in the micro and enjoy. By far the best I've tried.

Mint Chocolate was SUPER disappointing.

Screws with digestion.

It's why I stopped eating them.

Pretty much same. Different tolerances for different people of course. But look at that Pure Protein ingredient list and that's why I will always stick to Quest bars if I need a quick snack and some extra protein.

Agreed on the mint. My least favorite of the half dozen or so I've tried.

S'mores is ok but I still place it behind cookie dough and cookies and creme.

I didn't like the mint either. Give me Cookie Dough and Double Chocolate Chunk any day.

Mint Chocolate ain't that good. S'mores was godly. Seems like Quest loves their chocolate, I would live to see some Vanilla flavors like a Vanilla Pumpkin Pie flavor or Vanilla Pretzel Crunch. So many ideas.

I think I'm gonna grab a Quest bar on my way home. Best part of living in NYC is easy access to Quest Bars.

Anyone ever try Rx bars? I've heard good things but would like to know the opinions of people here.

Yes I have tried them (got them from Amazon). They are really tasty. I have one 15 mins before a workout to give me a boost I love the Coconut Cocoa and the peanut butter.

I think the price is similar to quest bars.

What's the opinion on the use of sucralose in most quest bars? I only get 1 flavor because it has Stevia only.

Getting tired of the flavor would love to try the others but don't want artificial sugar.

This. I'm still searching for one more flavor to add to my standard purchases.

Choc/mint hate?? Wow. It's probably my number one.

1)Choc/mint
2)C&C
3)PB&J
4)Cookie dough
5)White Choc/Rasp

S'mores tastes like coconut. No thanks.

I need to start eating more of these. Does GNC stilll do the discount? I think it was a once per month thing(?).

The last time I got them I got 72 for like $102. I'm out now, but I can't get myself to pay full price. I check Slickdeals and keep my eye out for more deals, though.

Anyone tried these? I keep seeing ads for them on Twitter. They seem like they might be an alternative to Quest Bars (they average around 4 net carbs each), and it wouldn't really take much for them to taste better.

They're even MORE expensive though.

Good God these are disgusting but also delicious at the same time. The texture is like of sugar coated playdough, but they are also very sweet and interesting tasting.

And I can't stop eating them even though they cost something like 3 euros per piece where I live.

I love quest bars, but I only get them when I come across a great deal. I was able to get five 24-packs for 80 dollars not long ago. Keep an eye out on slickdeals.net

The texture is an issue but it's taken care of with 15 seconds in the microwave.

Yesterday I had the peanut butter and chocolate one. After a blast in the microwave to soften it up it basically tasted like a reeses pieces peanut butter cup. Will definitely be getting that one again.

Also there's a grocery near me that has a nice selection of them and sells them for $2.09. Pretty sweet deal.

Tried these out after seeing this thread.

Had a Cookies & Cream yesterday, which tasted fantastic. Just finished a Chocolate Peanut Butter. It was alright, but not as flavorful as I thought it'd be.

I can see myself buying maybe one or two every now and then, unless I find really good deals for the packs.

That's funny, I JUST looked into these yesterday. Saw the price and said nope nope nope.

I've been on a strict diet the last 2 months. Oatmeal, boiled eggs, brown rice, chicken breast and salad. The last few months my skin has been flawless. I've been eating one Quest bar a day, for the last 4 days. Within hours of eating one, I get acne. It's like clockwork.

25% off sale and free shipping in the US on the official Quest website today for Cyber Monday. Not the craziest deal ever, but might be good if you don't want to deal with coupons or going to a store. I'm gonna pick up a box of Cookies n Cream and also a single bar of the Chocolate Mint to try.

Seems like they threw in a set of single-servings of their protein powders for free with my order too.
