I'm guessing we'll see some Pokitaru gameplay since it was already shown behind closed doors to some press.
I sure hope so. Hopefully another re imagined area from the original. I was already surprised by how they expanded Gaspar back at E3, and replaying the first game I'm already thinking about how else they'd change up or expand on old planets.Anyone think we'll get Ratchet and Clank PS4 stuff from PGW?
Insomniac needs to realise a lot of their audience have grown up over 15 years. The difficulty level in the PS3 ratchet games were a complete joke. ACIT had a 'hard' mode but I still only ending up dying maybe 3 times at most in the entire game to non-platforming elements.
That's my hope for the new Ratchet, an actual hard mode considering I'm into my 20s now and now play games like dark souls, dota and other things which aren't designed for a young audience like Ratchet is. I love the series and will of course be playing the next, I just hope they realise this.
On a funny note I remember playing TOD for the first time and popping the disco ball and nuking down the final boss in record time. Never touched that gadget again in my replay

Speaking of which, I beat Captain Qwark and got the final spaceship, so I'm about 3/4 complete. Hopefully I remember how to do the exploit that gets me a shit ton of bolts for the RYNO. It's crazy to think how much more bolts you get in later games on the first playthrough compared to this. 150,000 feels almost like an impossibility.
I have no idea how they would balance that though aside from making the enemies bullet sponges (I'm having nightmarish flashbacks to Resistance 2 co-op already) and doing one hit kills and the like. That's probably why they haven't done it.![]()
TOD has abysmal weapon balance imo. The liquid gold rocket launcher does insane damage while only partially upgraded whilst the regular blaster is a complete joke even with full upgrades.
Oh yeah that, I think you're talking about the one where you enter a hoverboard race when you're in the hologuise. Dang I can't wait to see how the redo the hologuise sections... If they do. Did people like those sections? I remember hating them as a kid but I love them now.
I'd hope they'd make the AI tougher to fight. I wouldn't want them to just rely on altering damage output and health. ItN did it better than CiT since it made the enemy's attacks faster (in regards to ranged attacks at least)

All I know is there had better be the return of Giant Clank sections in the new game. Imagine how nuts that could be now with destructible objects and physics.Oh yeah that, I think you're talking about the one where you enter a hoverboard race when you're in the hologuise. Not limiting the player's moveset would be a step in the right direction
Tougher A.I. would be the way to go. If not that (which would be intensive), then have the player take more damage. Upping enemy health would be lame considering the only real effect of upgrading weapons in this series has been higher damage per second. It's partly of the reason why I want to see more destruction as the result of weapon use in whatever comes after R&C 2016 it's kind of lame to unlock weapons built up as being insanely devastating, only to find their own use is it kill enemies faster. I want to destroy who buildings in a single shot of the R.Y.N.O.
I really liked the shot of the warship blowing up since it implies hat a certain section I really liked from the original will be reimagined... (Well of course it would but it's nice to have more confirmation)
I always chuckle when I see the "press the big red shiny button?" prompt during that section. They just know you want to. Some good stuff from the PGW trailer, really was glad to see the jet fighter segment from Pokitaru making a return. Looked just like how you would want it.
Anyway, I'm now doing the bolt glitch in the original R&C in order to get the RYNO. Plugged in my arcade stick and placed the dualshock's grip on top of the fire button and now all I have to do is wait a few hours to build up the necessary funds.
God, I forgot how long it takes to get all that money with this method.
I am. Use the hologuise to enter Blackwater Hoverboard race, go under the platform with a huge stack of crates, then use the Taunter to break the crates overhead and suck in all the bolts.Wat. I've never even heard of that exploit. I thought you were talking about the hologuise one.

Anyway, I've hit just under 200K so I'll call that quits for now, just so I can finish the game tonight and go on to challenge mode.

Interesting. That's new to me.
Played a bit of the Tools of Destruction demo yesterday, it was pretty fun.
Can you change the language in the full game, or do you need to change the PS3 language? The Dutch voice acting was surprisingly good, but I'd prefer to play it in English.
The music from the first 3 games is just amazing in general. It's extremely underappreciated IMO. There are just tons of good tracks I can take from all of those games.

You need to change the system language to English if you want to play the game in English.

Now it's time for Going Commando. The game that made me fall in love with this series in the first place.
Finished my second runthrough of Ratchet & Clank last night, all gold weapons and skill points acquired. Everything to do in that game is done.

Son, you're in for a treat.
The new Big Al
The new Big Al
I guess he gives you all three of the Clank upgrades this time around? It's weird to see him on Pokitaru.
Replay them on PS3 if you can. The environments look fantastic, and I actually found the first to have the best looking settings after playing them recently.I played through the original game on PS2 a year or two ago. I got about 2/3rds through the game but never went back. The setting wasn't as vibrant as I like. I have the other two games for PS2 and the two main PS3 games but I haven't touched them yet.
I really want to get through the original on vita then play 2&3 for the first time on PS3 but the first game is too frustrating in places.
I think this is the first time I've heard someone say the sequels are harder than the original.
