It was a 3/5 until they unveiled the price. No Kinect. No TV/Sports/Movies distraction. It was pretty much all games. Some definite hiccups, but overall, it went well, especially compared to the last few years.

Unfortunately, the exclusives they showed off (with actual gameplay) weren't that compelling to me. Ryse was a QTE-fest. TitanFall looked somewhat interesting, but graphically, I wasn't impressed. Maybe it was the feed off my 360 in the XBL player. Spark was intriguing and different, at least.

Still not enough to change my mind about the Xbox One, and MS didn't address the DRM issues at all (let's see if they do this week at all).

2/5

Except for MGS, overall graphics were disappointing on several levels.

IMHO, too much shoot-bang.

I know they wanted to focus on games, and in that respect the presentation was very tight, but I really wanted some examples/ideas as to how this device (interaction between interface, services and games) will give me a NEW experience.

Never felt like I got an overall vision that sparked my imagination or created excitement.

surprisingly good and the little 360 bit was nice.

a couple of those trailers were 'here's something barely announced' type deal though.

Ryse didn't ring my bell Titanfall however... really really did.

2/5 for me.

I appreciate them focusing so much on the games, but there just wasn't anything that interested me too much. They did nothing to change my mind about not buying their console (granted, with all the bullshit they're pulling that would've had to have been a hell of a lot), and with that price tag, I have pretty much officially written off the XBone as a purchasing decision in the forseeable future.

They followed up on their promise with just revealing games, some I liked more than others and obviously this isn't the full line up. I am disappointed they didnt address the community backlash on drm but the launch window line up is solid.

The price isn't as expensive as people are making out. Well at least not to me, launch prices will always be more expensive.

8/10. I saw games. Lots of games. Some of them were shit (RYSE... wtf) but most of them looked pretty interesting. Pleasantly surprised by Titanfall.

It was a decent conference. The focus on games was great. The lack of focus on actual gameplay took it down a few notches though. $499 though, way too much. I was surprised they didn't have multiple SKUs again.

6 - Decent, lol at all the moneyhats. It is either PC or PS4 for me, and this conference did nothing at all for me. TitanFall was the only game I find interesting and they say it is also PC, not that graphic intensive.

I would give it 3/5. I had next to no expectations after the horrible reveal. Most impressive game of the conference was MGSV and that isn't exclusive to the Xbox brand. They showed lot of games but the only exclusive one I really wanted was Dead Rising 3. They showed much shooters though.

Liked that there was no talk about TV or Sports. The price is a huge turnoff too. Didn't like they didn't talk about their DRM, trading/renting games.

I honestly think they chose that price so that they could drop the price within a year. That way it will look like a great deal in comparison. I just feel sorry for any of the exclusive launch games because there is no chance of the majority those games turning a profit. MS must have compensated them appropriately.

The conference was decent enough and I love that they focused on actual GAMES. No BS sales spinning or horrible kinect demos; Microsoft really catered to the hardcore for the first time in a while. That being said, the games they showed off are either multiplatform or simply not interesting to me. Throw in the technical problems and $500 price point reveal, and you have a dud on your hands. This is just my opinion.

2/5

Only two exklusives titles that really got my attention: Titanfall and Dead Rising.
Witcher and MGS looked amazing but i can play these somewhere else. Is this enough to spend 500€ and my consumer rights?

No.

4/10

7/10
Love games, games and only games and all those exclusive.
Sadly that high price.
I'm still not convinced but was a great one.

It's a shame

In terms of content it was pretty solid. MGS5, Forza, Killer Instinct, Halo, DR3....but I came to the realisation after seeing good title after good title about 10 minutes ago - I dont care.

I cannot and will not get over Microsofts DRM and consumer approach from their launch conference onwards. Unless they address those concerns, I don't care. I will not be buying. I will pass on next gen completely if Sony take the same attitude. A collector approach and a massive backlog will see me right for the next few years if needs be.

At £429 there's just too many 'you've got to jump through our online hoops / bend to our DRM approach / do this / do that / remember you don't own the game' lines. At £429 I want a console that isn't co-dependent on my Broadband and all the other bits.

Judged on the content alone (without letting the DRM stuff colour my opinion) it was a 7/10 for me.

Still wont be buying the console, but it was a solid show with some interesting games.

8.5/10 from me. I went from sorta interested but could skip xbone to preordering one. Lots of great games and the system costs less than my iPad.

8

+ It was all about games
+ Dead Rising 3 (looked great, good exclusive for MS)
+ Witcher 3 looks absolutely amazing
+ Killer Instinct
+ Below
+ Titanfall (a breath of fresh air in the FPS genre)

- Ryse (awful QTE gameplay)
- $499

I'm having finding trouble finding details about the Xbox Live free games thing? Is it basically PSN+?

We still need more details but from what I gathered MS is giving away 2 free games a month for gold members who pay the $60 membership fee. Too bad the first titles are Halo 3 (2007) and Assassins Creed 2 (2009). Two old ass games aren't added value.

a very solid showing. 8/10. 2 point deduction just because of price. I think Sony conference its going to disappoint me now but they have price card to play

Have no interest in the one, but was an excellent conference. 9/10

Games, games, games; how it should be. Not many appealed to me but was decent.

TitanFall looks amazing, luckily it's published by EA and not MS. So I'm guessing it will be timed exclusive, or the sequel would come to PS4.

C/C+

I loved the presentation style. Just games games games. That was good.

Of the non exclusives I liked in particular MGS5 and Battlefield 4

Of the exclusive I liked Ryse & the glimpse of the Black Tusk game. Quantum Break also looked nice.

I thought the rest of the exclusives looked like a mixed bag. Dead Rising 3 looked particularly disappointing. It and Crimson Dragon looked like recently ported 360 games. Was unmoved by Sunset Overdrive. D4 looked nice, as did Below. Titanfall looked interesting but visually showed its engine roots.

I think it was nice to see MS investing in development again, and I hope it is kept up. But I think there was a lack of some serious next-gen spectacular. As said earlier, technologically some of it was a very mixed bag. Sort of underwhelming overall on that front. Was also disappointed at what seemed like an reaffirmation of business-as-usual on the indie front.

Price is higher than I expected. I think these boxes really should have been targeting a 399 entry point.

I probably won’t be getting a One this year. My stance is unmoved from what I previously wrote. The shroud of DRM and game ownership policy wasn’t washed away at all...and I didn’t feel there was much that I’ll miss in the short term. But it was a games show and there was a good chunk of games present so I have to give them props for that.

2/5

Poor showing, no megatons, did not address the DRM/always on shenanigans, high price, little things that interested me outside multiplatform titles that by all accounts and logic will be better on the rival console. All around just really not a good E3 console launch year conference.

They definitely did not bring it.

not enough info was given out to say one way or another.

Found something:

http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/e3-marc-whitten

Games with Gold: Beginning in July, we will release two free games per month to Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360. This includes favorites like “Halo 3” and “Assassin’s Creed II.” And it starts right now, with the download of “Fable III,” yours to keep on Xbox 360.

So it's pretty much just like PS+

Only caught the last part. From what I've read it sounds way better than the awful conferences MS have put out in recent years. Finally core games instead of just kinect garbage, and more than just Halo and Forza.

Too bad it was overshadowed by this ridiculous DRM garbage. They could have shown 100 killer exclusives and I still wouldn't have any interest in the console.

6/10

Decent but expected megatons for a new console, and saw any . At least they focused on games. But price is a disappointment, and they are copying psn+ , lol

tough call. judged in a vacuum the conference wasn't bad. decent selection of new IP, plenty of games, and
the addition of free games to live adds value for subscribers. No real huge surprises though, so it would be a 7 or 8 out of ten.

HOWEVER

The xbox one does not exist in a vacuum. That price is outrageously high for what it offers.

We know the ps4 is coming, and every single one of those multiplat titles will perform better there.

We know the xbone includes some fairly noxious DRM, and none of the cloud functions demonstrated make the case that this is a good idea, or even necessary.

can't really say it's better than a 3 or a 4, given the negatives

2/5.

Price is ridiculous.
The leap in graphics is possibly the smallest of any generational transition.
A good number of games, but Ryse and KI looked very disappointing. Intrigued by Spark.
NOTHING Japanese was shown, asides from MGSV which is probably available on PS4.

It was nothing special. Titanfall was the highlight for me and I'm getting it on PC. 499 US dollars for intrusive DRM is fucking moronic. 2/5

Dude Bro shooters hogged up all the time and most of them besides Battlefield looked ultra generic. The games with the different art styles took so little time. Dead Rising took a turn for the generic too. Price doesn't bother me when iPads can get away with that range.

5/10.

3/5

I was a good conference when judged on its own.
However, it wasn't the impressive cross-generational conference I was hoping for. The most impressive game for me was MGSV and that is a known multi-plat. No gameplay video whatsoever for quantum break, halo and the black tusk game is a big let down.

Then that 499...that 499...

7/10

I thought it was pretty good. Some great games shown, in particular Titanfall, next gen debut of MGS V, BF4 and Ryse looked pretty damn good graphically. A lot of it felt samey though and overall the conference felt pretty rushed. The multiplatform games looked more appealing to me. XBL+ is still hilarious after the new additions, you still pay to play online and have to pay for F2P games, I'm guessing the game streaming/capture is behind the gold paywall also.

I was cringing at Dan Greenwalt (cloud, drivitars, end of AI, still shitty lighting). Some other wtf moments would have to be seeing KI and getting excited, then seeing the actual game, the old art style was so much better. Touting indie support then showing 1 game. Price. The price is a lot more than I expected for the Xbone, I was thinking $399 considering what you get in the hardware, and $499 for PS4, I'd be shocked if PS4 is cheaper.

So a lot of neat games shown, but I still would never buy one based on the restrictions, Live and attitude towards consumers.

I voted 3/5. I think it was probably the best MS could've put forth after all the bad press without completely changing their strategy or flat out lying to the public. I'll admit I wanted to play Killer Instinct when I saw the trailer, but later when they showed gameplay, it was clear that it's not a true sequel in spirit. Titanfall looks really fun, but I'll get to play that on PC. Dead Rising 3 is probably the biggest title I was disappointed that I won't get to play, even if they did take a lot of the silliness out of the game.

I liked it for what it was. A preview show. But, what was worrying was not what they mentioned but what they didn't. They wanted all the positives so they ignored everything that was too bitter or would cause the audience to boo.

2/5, I mean the conference was decent. However, it wasn't as exciting as I hoped to be. The only thing I liked from the conference were the presentation of MGS.

Eh, maybe 3, just for Ryse. Is Crismon Dragoon an exclusive? Other than that not interested in the other titles. $499? Just lol.

I give it a 3/5.

+ Opened with MGS5 trailer
+ Many games revealed
+ Killer Instinct is back
+ Not much focus on Kinect
+ Live streaming on Twitch

- $499 price
- No exact date of release
- Lack of info about new Kinect and its games
- Half the games weren't that interesting
- Ryse's gameplay wasn't very impressive

The big hit is the high price tag. A Kinect is included with every X1, but what exactly do I need it for? I'd rather not have a Kinect and pay less for a X1.

7.5/10

Microsoft's best E3 conference in years and years. Never seen so many games crammed in to a conference. But disappointing in terms of no 3D platformers etc. I mean: Insomniac. Surely an opportunity for them to do a Banjo reboot :(

I was pretty underwhelmed. MGS5 looks great. I can't even lie about that. Though, when watching him on the horse, it made me want RDR2 REALLY FUCKING BADLY...

A couple of the indie titles like Max look interesting. Ryse looks good but I'm not blown away by anything that is said to be "next gen"

Remedy game...I'm excited but I NEED gameplay from this.

My full review there ^

Other than Titanfall and Quantum, nothing shown was really that exciting for me. There are some. Ice concepts there, but no exclusive game that I feel is worth the price tag. Halo will probably be great, but again that's not something new or hugely exciting that I wanted to see. 2/5 for me.

8/10 i was impressed. Forza looks real good, i thought the Halo tease was slick, and Below looks interesting. Sunset Od could be neat, and DR3 looked ok. Titan fall looks sick glad i can just grab that on pc tho. That 500 hundos plus gold tho is pretty steep pricing. The dedicated servers for every game is way cool and worth the price of gold imo, plus the free games thing like plus now.
