Argue away folks LOL
Yeah, RDR 2 is gonna sell so bad it won't swiftly reach the 75% and then 80% fee tiers on Steam, who even knew about this game, these oh-so-not-disingenuous/ignorant influencers and journalists mentioning it's making evil Steam wait are the only reason it now gets any awareness!

But yeah, that 8% difference totally makes EGS a way better deal they totally weren't paid to go for given its vast stable of services and support for all kinds of currencies and local payment methods and emerging market accessibility and 0% fee for key sales on other stores and so on. Oh wait...

Why even care to post about Steam for a game they feel is shunning it (for a whole MONTH!), just let nature run its course and not give those evil Steam folks any attention they don't even deserve am I right? Why not just post about the game and just mention everyone should get it on the Rockstar client and not the other services from evil billionaire owned companies merely trying to get rich off of Rockstar's own hard work by reselling the product they worked hard for without giving them degrees of evilness by the fee % difference?

Just lump them all together, they're all "just other launchers" so Rockstar's launcher reigns supreme in this case for benefitting both rockstar and its users the most, promote that and the game rather than waste attention on any one of the others! I guess they work by quotas, heheh.

Edit: and we still say screw you to anyone not connected enough for Timmy to even consider their games for EGS, those people can fuck off and die for all we care, we don't need an open platform like Steam providing the same AAA services and potential market reach no questions asked for a %!

We just need to buy EGS and big publisher/developer (like Ubisoft and Rockstar) games, they're the only worthy! Also somehow we ignore talking about the other big publishers like EA, Sony and Microsoft and their cut when discussing these topics because we need them to send us freebies.

Agreed. Buying this directly from Rockstar. They made an incredible game and resolved all the crutches that the console version has by releasing on the PC.

The epic launcher has been fine for me... If there is a pretty good pre order deal I wouldn't hesitate to buy on that platform.

In my opinion, the most overrated game ever released. That is sits at 97% Metacritic is bordering on the absurd.

Controls like absolute ass and is soul crushingly boring. Absolutely no fun whatsoever to play.

That said, I'm sure it will look incredible.

Awesome! Time to double dip. Never completed the epilogue to leave something ne for my PC play through .

Going Rockstar store, cause that will launch anyway if you get the steam version. Now at least 1 launcher less :/

Finally. So happy about the news.

I've waited this long, I'll wait the extra bit for the Steam release.
You right to. Its not a bad game, but folks out here are lying about a perfect score or even a 9 and by no means is it any GOTY. This is a title you want to play with headphones on and sitting back and enjoying how it looks, setting, detail (story maybe) and thats about it, don't go into it thinking it will feel as good as GTAV and you'll be ok. Its a solid playthrough, but you are correct to wait.

Ogbert Ogbert Agreed. I like the game and even I agree with folks that feel its boring and the controls are bad. Just cause I REALLY like westerns doesn't mean I'm going to let everything slide, the game ignores all the free agency that made GTA and even the first Red Dead so good. How on earth do you have a game about robbing banks, NOT letting you rob the banks in the open world freely? Put a mask on your face (looks like they can see thru that mask and apparently minority reported your face, name, date of birth, blood type etc to the police all with their minds in real time...)

Only one month exclusive on Epic? That's manageable, six months or a year must've been prohibitively expensive even for Epic.
As for me, I don't feel any hype for the game, it's already rather old and people I know that played it on console struggled to finish it; so there is little buzz.

Setting was a big part of what I loved about the first. I've heard that it's slow, but for me, that perfectly suits how I like to play this type of game. I just like to soak in the atmosphere and the cowboy vibe. I'm sure I'll love it, but I've been surprised before.

Already finished this on PS4, I'm gonna have the game for free since we had a bet with a friend, I was certain that the game would be released on pc in 2019, he thought he would never be on the master race system, the loser buys a game to another.

Today is a great day !

It's more of a really memorable experience (one of the best ever in gaming for me, actually) than a fun video game, so I'm not sure I can play through this one again right now - but I am excited to see what kind of a visuals a high-end PC can churn out for it, and perhaps some mods can improve the gameplay.

It's still going to be sluggish and convoluted.

They did make improvements to player movement in Online, though. But for some reason they're keeping those improvements out of Story mode. I guess they just really like Arthur being slow as molasses.

Again, they made these improvements... in Online only. Arthur is forever destined to be slow.
Not at all concerned with Rockstars awful online components. Just make the single player not a chore to play through. One of the few games where I actually fell asleep playing.

It is hysterical that such a tweet will upset people. Rabid Steam proponents must be the only people on earth who say that saving 18% of gross receipts, and creating competition, are bad things.

I mean, if you want to remain ignorant and claim people taking a minute to correct him with facts are rabid Steam proponents because they can't possibly simply value truth over disingenuous shilling bullshit for this or that favorite billionaire who can beat the other guy's favorite, yeah, carry on.

1) For a game like this it's 8%, not 18%.
Don't be so rabid, my man.

Correcting bullshit, who does that if not a super fanboy?

You're basically assaulting the bullshitter at this point, that's what toxic Steam fanboys do when they can't handle their platform becoming as irrelevant as it is with just the few shitty games left on it (only because supreme Timmy knows they're shit nobody should buy and doesn't take them in).

Unless the steam version comes with a hand job I think most people are fine playing it on any platform. Unless of course it's windows store.
It's just another launcher my man, why the hate? It's as good as EGS, don't fall for the media agreeing with the users when they bashed Windows Store/Bethesda launcher and stuff, they just weren't enlightened by the shining light of Fortnite money back then, it's ancient history, old testament shit!

I have no problems with EGS. Windows stores on the other hand is always slow as hell for me. I've also had to re download gears 4 on it when it wouldn't launch. The windows store version of metro is ass also. It only lets you launch dx12, which crashes half the time on boot, and also takes forever to load at the start. No idea why dx 11 doesn't work on windows store, but windows store definitely isn't just another launcher.

That's nothing, all launchers have folks occasionally having such minor issues. Like all the wiped Borderlands 3 saves recently on EGS. It happens. Shit happens. That's all it is. Reevaluate. Windows store is just another launcher just like EGS. So is Steam. Except Steam is an evil launcher. EGS is an angelic one. So there can be such differences. But all in all they're just other launchers. Except when they aren't and we truthbombers have better reasons to dislike them than fanboys have reasons to dislike EGS. Then they're more than just that. But they are just that. Get it? It's real simple tbh.

Oh....oh no bud, we don't mean slow like soaking in the setting, we mean the game is slow and even boring with a game clearly about the "wild" west. You can't actively rob banks like freely in the open world. The weapon wheel resets every time you get off the horse for basically no reason but to be stupid about design (never happens in GTAV btw and ZERO logical reason to do this in Red Dead 2), the controls are just horrid, I don't need to HOLD DOWN A DAMN BUTTON to confirm I want to pick something up, it is obvious that is my intent and yet,(press to pick up, hold shoulder button, confirm? (YES/NO), (sends confirmation email to make sure you REALLY want to pick that gun up) lol So we don't mean "slow" like the easy going country life, we mean like the actual controls, movement and even certain events move like snail on heroin.

You can still enjoy the setting as I do annnnnnnnnd have responsive controls. I don't need to hold a damn button down to do every damn thing in the game, let my weapon wheel ACTUALLY remember my set up (my person didn't just get alzheimer's), let me actually RUN ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME, no reason to force someone to walk indoors while they are being shot at looking like an idiot. Let me rob any bank at any time, no different then I can rob a shop, the set up is almost the same anyway. Put mask on, point gun at teller and clearly demand funds, or slip note etc, tie up, do mini game with safe, get money, ride horse in chase. NONE OF THAT is impossible to do as you clearly can do all that anyway in the game separately and even in missions. Their choice to do this is a design choice I don't agree with and I like the damn game, doesn't mean I like its obvious flaws. Some where along the way, Rockstar forgot they were making a game about crime and choice. They decided to put in many features that beg to question WHY they are in game like this.

The above reasons given, trust me....are not what you mean when you say you welcome a slow pace, you are not really saying you welcome and enjoy the above. You can still like the setting and theme etc while being able to freely move, rob and shoot whom ever without any cumbersome issues. If anything, you'd like it more without those issues.

Only being able to play the dx 12 version of metro isn't a minor issue. It's noticeable worse than the dx 11 api. In fact it's borderline unplayable with the crashing. Also, downloading it at a quarter of my bandwidth is more than a minor inconvenience for me when every other launcher maxes my bandwidth. It's a big deal to download 75 + gb games very slowly.

1) For a game like this it's 8%, not 18%.
2) Competition is not necessarily a good thing.
3) What is good for the corporation is not necessarily good for the consumer.
For a game like this, arguing over whether the pub will save 8% or 18% is splitting hairs IMO. In either case its millions of dollars being saved.

"Hey board of directors, we might save 18 million by launching on epic a month early, but if we sell a ton of units we might only save 8 million." Yeah, sure, that risk of only saving 8 million sounds awful.

Meh, a Windows Store hater, I wish people weren't focused on the good/evil hero/villain battle of EGS/Steam (yes in that order!) then they would put you to your place for being so adamantly against just another launcher, that's borderline EGS betrayal going against its new testament.

Chapter 1 verse 6:2, and all services and stores were to be known as just other launchers except when they (where they is Steam) were to be called out for their differences as the lesser demons of hell gnawing at all that is good they were compared to divine lord and savior EGS.

A windows store hater? These are legitimate complaints unlike a lot of the anti circle jerk for EGS. Downloading games slowly and only being able to use certain api's isn't a minor inconvenience. The EGS version of metro is objectively superior due to being able to use dx 11. Not to mention I can actually download it very quickly.

I’m tired of all these client war shenanigans. It’s not right that those who prefer Steam are the ones impacted most due to all this.

Oh I think you found the holy loophole. Indeed, it's only when it comes to EGS that things are just other launchers and complaints are moot and void and fanboyish rants and circle jerks as you righteously handwaved, you can put other other launchers to their place just fine. I forgot that verse because I was focused on the verse saying most bashing should be directed to the unholy spirit of Steam until the world settles down to its true beautiful form where EGS reigns supreme. But it said most, not all. Thanks.

I am excited because of mods
Very excited for this. Just started my second playthrough on the X but I will abort NOW.

This game needs mods desperately to improve the gameplay part.

I hope there will be mods that speed up the looting animations and transitioning animations in general.

Rockstar tried hard to make all animations look perfect and play out till the end but that cripples the gameplay part hard.

I was fucking raging at Arthur when you are in the middle of a robbery and he fucking takes his sweet time to open the drawers in slow motion.

Like WTF that's not how you act during a high octane heist. That was by far the worst part of the game imo.

With that EGS becomes as evil as Steam because as Steam has 8% difference to it, it also has at least 7% difference to Rockstar's (I dunno where the 95% came from, the cost it takes to maintain it being 5%??? Steam also has a cost but it doesn't reduce reports of its fee, lol). This can't be true!!!

Also Rockstar could sell Steam keys on its store, get 100% profits and not have to provide the services Steam does for them, Steam only takes a cut for sales through its own client alone, hmm, curious!

Where are you going with this? I am not saying Steam is bad nor evil. I just commented on someone else's post about the state of affairs where people get upset when the benefits of EGS are thrown out for discussion, and then responded to someone else who told me its only 8% instead of 18% savings. But if you want to convince the board that EGS should be shunned for Rockstar's own launcher to save money, by gosh have at it.

Having suffered through RDO Beta when it was so bare bones I tried to go back and take all the new content seriously and in my opinion it's maybe 10 more hours before we're back to bare bones.

I was waiting for PC but I think they made me wait too long, not sure if I'll even bother. They don't care about their dedicated fans though they sucked every penny from them already, this is about dipping into a whole new market and we'll probably see lots of DLC targeted primarily for PC users.
