I like how the plot outline for this apparently has nothing to do with the giant clone army assembled at the end of the third movie. Don't see how you really clean that up but it's not like there's been any real kind of continuity in these things.

I still think the first Resident Evil movie is watchable, and Jill Valentine in the second one is just obscenely sexy, but the rest of this series is an utter trainwreck. The monster thing LeelooDallasMultiPass fights at the end of the third movie is a guy in such a horrendous rubber costume they wouldn't even have used it on a second rate X-Files episode.

I think the third one is actually best because they stop pretending that it has anything whatsoever to do with the games and just have goofy fun with it. The first two are godawful, shitty adaptations of games that should have been pretty easily adapted into films. The third is just insane and doesn't give a shit anymore and spirals off into its own thing, which makes it better imo than something retarded like trying to make a Code: Veronica movie with Alice added into it.

The first and second piss me off more than the third, actually. The first because I read the Romero screenplay and it was far, far better, so I knew what it could have been; the second because Raccoon City is probably my favorite setting ever for games and they completely turded it up. Afterlife has the advantage of no longer being adapted from the games whatsoever. It's still crap, of course.

What exactly was so bad about the first movie? It actually had a story that followed closely to the first RE game, characters that were stereotypical but fun, and enemy cameos that had to put a smile on your face
