Resident Evil Re:Verse delayed to 2022

I was wondering what happened with this as I swore I got it with RE8 when I pre-ordered it, guess I wasn't crazy when thinking that. Good to know this news.

Thanks for the head up, I completely forgot this existed, but definitely interested in seeing what it's like.

It definitely looks better now. Dropping the cel shaded look and making it darker overall was the right move.
Just remember, you need to turn off the cel shading. It's in options under "comic effect"

I played for a few hours last night and have mixed feelings on the game.

It feels like it's too slow to be an action game and too fast to be a horror game. The pace would work a lot better if the maps were bigger. It's also weird how you can have multiple Jack Bakers and Tyrants running around at the same time. Seems for the unique boss characters the game should assign a different one when 2 or more players get enough vials to get those forms on death.

Mouse and keyboard controls on PC feel extremely sluggish and weird. I had to switch to a controller after a couple of rounds.

Despite those complaints, I did have a good amount of fun once I understood what the hell was going on. All the playable characters feel fairly unique, and the maps generally do a good job representing the source material. There is seemingly a lack of content so far, hopefully they add a couple more maps, enemies and playable characters in the very near future or I don't see the players sticking around for too long.

So, I always thought the concept was ridiculous, I mean, who'd want it? The previous builds were fine, but laughably shallow IMO. The latest build, all things considered, shows more promise than I was expecting. It's still very much "mindless dumb fun" in my eyes, but it looks (after turning off the horrible cel shading effect) and feels better. They've also added more replayability and retention mechanics, all revolving around challenges, F2P standards, etc. They even showed a roadmap!

I'm really not sure how it got as deep as it has. I still think some will enjoy it, and some will hate it. But with everything else in the DLC, I feel like I'll enjoy this the most, lol. Which I initially wasn't expecting.
