Noomi is looking great! And those look like statues. There's even a 'stand' thingy on the floor.
Those are children in that shot so Alien isn't exactly consistent with giving a sense of scale.
The people are the size of his arm

Those shots also make it clear they were not in some kind of suit. The Space Jockey is a fossilized internal structure, with some typical Giger bio-mechanical elements.
Yeah. I'll be one sad panda if what I've always though of as an interesting and mysterious alien was some dude in a suit.
Agreed.
As for the Aliens director's cut, I don't care for any of the scenes on LV-426 prior to the rescue team arriving at the colony. It spoils a lot of the surprise, and makes Newt less interesting.
Yea you saw it. I saw it too. That was my favorite version.Im sure i saw a tv version in 1989 that had all the footage but the colony scene.
Behold, Wall-Etheus. Ridley Scott sci fi + adorable Pixar robot = pure awesome:

"He was looking for a friend, what he found could be his end."
Loved it, thanks.
Maybe its been mentioned but is the word Meth in the Prometheus trailer flashing intentionally or am I just over analyzing it?
I haven't seen a good trailer mashup in a long, long time. TDK trailer mashups pretty much started this whole crazy of amateurs editing together random shots with no thought as to what made the original trailer's choice of images special.
The same goes for TGWDTT mashups lately. Awful.
The people are the size of his arm.
From Giger's Alien, page 34, Giger writing about viewing the set: "In his seat in the center of the 'turntable' is the pilot, eight meters (26 feet) tall; he has an internal framework of steel tubing to ensure stability."

Wow, those statues/suits totally remind me of this illustration I came across. Don't quite remember the source.
Is this still a prequel to the Alien films or did they change that?

Weyland is the only word I can read out.
Anyone who can read alien pictograms?
Yep, I hope that hasn't changed any. It seems it is less gritty than the Alien films, at least on the human-side. I realize Alien Resurrection is canon, but I remember how crappy Earth seemed to be so much that it was referred to as a shit-hole, or something to that effect.Prequel that takes place a good deal of time before Alien, it would seem.
You're welcome. Makes me wanna watch Wall-E again. Wall-E itself felt like an homage from Pixar to gritty/bleak 70s sci fi which makes this mash up all the more appropriate.
LOL there is an 'international trailer' that a lot of movie sites are posting that is literally the exact same as the teaser, only the text has been removed.
Wall-E is actually based on Silent Running
I dunno if this has been posted already, but iv just seen this image on a website which is quite interesting.

Slightly spoilerey but they are all from the trailer.

Ridley Scott said:When the first Alien' movie and Blade Runner' were made, I thought that in the near future the world will be owned by large companies. This is why we have the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner', and Weyland-Yutani in Alien'. They sent the Nostromo spaceship.
The Prometheus is owned by an entrepreneur called Peter Weyland, and is played by Guy Pearce. That's the connection between the two films, and nothing more. Prometheus is a new film, a new world, and is full of new ideas. And of course new monsters as well.
Has Ridley Scott's explanation of the connection between Alien and Prometheus been posted?
Spoilers!
