I've actually been sort of thinking this. I can understand why some people are upset, and I'll probably end up with an Xbox One someday, but I don't care about this game. I tried to get into Tomb Raider, and maybe it gets better later on, but what I played seemed boring and full of QTEs. Not my thing. I've been more worried that something I do care about, like Fallout 4, will be exclusive.

Also, as little as I care about this game, I am legitimately shocked they'd be willing to do this. If you're trying to release a big budget game, ignoring the PS4 and PC strikes me as stupid. Yeah, you'll get a bunch of marketing from Microsoft, but does that really make up for the lost potential sales from the PS4 and PC? I feel like this has to be a timed exclusive - otherwise, how do you spin that to stockholders?

I really don't mind exclusives but when you wait this late to make a deal, after the game has been announced for other systems it is pretty hard not to see it as Microsoft taking the game away from PlayStation/ PC players. If you only have one system and you were looking forward to TR Microsoft just screwed you over. Obviously they did it for the reasons anyone would want a game to be exclusive, and I don't blame them for wanting to be exclusive, but figure that out before you reveal the game. At least with TF they were vague enough that they could pretend it was never coming to PS4.

Fucksake. I hadn't played a Tomb Raider game since Tomb Raider II, but I really enjoyed playing the TR2013: Definitive Edition on my PS4 earlier this year. One of the few games I was looking forward to and it's Xbone exclusive ;_;

Same here really enjoyed it on the PS4 and now I'm disappointed it's exclusive. It makes no goddam sense to me. Wasn't the point of the Definitive Edition release meant to attract new fans to the series on the new platforms? I mean why shun away a large portion of new potential fans like that?

The confusion is probably on purpose. They want people to think Xbox when they talk about this new Tomb Raider. Even if it is timed exclusive, they don't want PS4 in the discussion at all.

I don't think the confusion is on purpose (they don't want their customers to be confused) - I think they're purposefully being vague because that's the best way they can keep the discussion on Microsoft. Must be a timed exclusive if they're not coming out and saying "ONLY ON XBOX ONE."

I have both systems, just so I can play exclusives, but there is no way I am buying this.

You have exclusives that are made in house.

You have exclusives, like the recent Sunset Overdrive, where the developer gets to keep control of their product, so staying on one system makes sense.

You have exclusives, like Bayonetta 2, where one of the big companies helps fund the game which would have never been made otherwise.

With all of these I have no problem buying the game and is the reason I own all the major systems.

Then you have crap like this where one company pays to keep the game off other systems. This is complete anti-consumer shit. This is not helping the gamer. This is not creating exciting content for your fans. This is not making me want to support your company by hiring the most talented artist in the industry and giving them a chance to wow me. This is 100% complete mafia bullshit of taking out all competition and leaving me one single choice.

I agree completely. I don't own an Xbox One, nor am I a fan of Tomb Raider but these deals are just shitty. As someone pointed out earlier, Sony has been guilty of this in the past too. It was as shit then as it is now.

I don't really see Tomb Raider as a console seller even, it's not exactly Mario Kart or Halo is it? It is just bad news for the fans of the series. I can't see any positives in this.

Sadly, any post like this will be seen as done in spite or salty (I hate this term).
