Terrible news, but look at the GoFund, it's raised over 100k in 5 hours! I hope this money is able to provide for the care he needs for a speedy recovery.

Can only imagine the emotional reaction of the family members unaware of his internet fame, seeing that kind of money suddenly rolling in to take care of the medical bills. Good stuff.

RIP. This is pretty lousy news. He was an incredible talent and a massive inspiration. The internet has lost one if its greats today.

How is RVB and RWBY going to end up now?

Monty hasn't been part of RvB for two seasons now, since he moved his focus over to RWBY. RvB will continue as it has. As for RWBY, Miles and Kerry will hopefully continue on in honor. Monty trained a great apprentice in Shane Newville, who animated the Pyrrha vs Mercury fight last season. The voice of Ren will have to be recast. It's not going to be the same show without him at the helm, but hopefully a little piece of him will live on in it.
