holy SHIT are you annoying.

Anyway eh I don't know if I'm biased towards Katie because she played the part in the first film and I got so attached to Begins, but eh...I just didn't really like Maggie's take on the character. But like someone said to each their own...

Also - whoever said that the actor for Harvey was amazing - oh god was he was...best actor of the film IMO.
I didn't even realize that it was a different actor, must show how small a role Rachel played in the first movie and how forgettable Katie's performance was.

I agree that Eckhart did a wonderful job. I have always loved Two Face and I feel that was a great adaptation to that character.
I wonder though if maybe he will come back bigger and badder to torment the bat, guess it really depends on what villain they choose for the next one.

Joker was awesome, I must say that my favorite part of the movie was
when he first encountered the mob bosses in that meeting. I laughed out loud in the theater, it was just great.
I've been so dulled by straight action flicks that I didn't put too much effort into analyzing this one, expecting a typical straight forward plot. But I have to say that things went ways I wasn't expecting and boy was it a pleasant surprise. I'm going to see which friends or family that haven't seen it and make them go see it with me again.

Best Comic Movie Ever, the next one has a high bar to fly over. Close to the top of my all time movies, will have to watch it more to see how high it can get. I might even actually buy the dvd/bluray when it comes out just to see all the extras, to see all the goodness that went into it.

Greatest superhero film of all time. Heath Ledger as the Joker is (at the risk of sounding like a hyperbole) one of the best silver screen villains and easily surpasses old Jackie boy's efforts.

How scary was he? I am GLAD he is nothing more than a fictional character.
The scene where he does the magic trick with the pen sets the stage for his cold unpredictable nature for the rest of the flim.

With Ledger gone, I wonder what will happen to the character...

I know it's been posted a million times before, but I'm having a hard time finding it. Can anyone post the animated gif image of Christian Bale talking about Superman stuff that's super awesome and funny?

Yeah, so that was pretty much amazing. Probably the best superhero movie ever.

Ledger is The Joker.

Also, I went to an earlier showing (7:30), and it was sold out. They actually had really long lines and extra security, something I'm not used to seeing at this theater. The line waiting to get into the 10 o'clock showing was out the door, which is also unusual.

Your fucked dude:lol Even coming from me who really likes Pierce Brosnan. It was pretty bad about. None of them could sing for shit for the most part outside of one song.:lol

Ha, on that money burning scene... the Chechan gave one of my favourite over-actory lines ever.. just the way he whispers and enunciates 'they will not work... for a freak.' Beautiful.

oh, and
nurse joker
is kinda sexy.

The fact that fucking Titanic has the top spot has been a constant thorn in my side for a long time. I know it won't happen but if TDK took the top spot I could die happy lol

Seriously , if Nolan made that kind of cash, the world would be a better place.

they added 4 showings tonight at the theater I was at because all the showings were sold out. Those were at 11:50 and 11:20 tonight...

Just a fantastic movie, incredible - loved every minute of it. One of the best I've ever seen.

My quick synopsis

Awesome movie, felt a bit long. Should have edited down a little bit. The villains were fucking AWESOME but I felt like Batman was put to the side for the drama aspects. I wanted to see more Batman and less Bruce Wayne.

Also, Bale really, really, REALLY needs to tone down the smokers voice. Sweet Jesus.

Just got back from the theater about 30 minutes ago.

I went there with my family at about 7:40 pm, but all the showings were sold out until the 10:20 pm show, and even then when I tried to get in at about half an hour early to get a decent seat, there was a freakin' line already for the 10:20 pm just to get into theater 1!

My experience...well, the screen needed to be a little brighter, as well as the sound mix muddled some of the dialog, especially near the end, plus it felt like they turned off the A/C half an hour before the movie ended. Ever since Regal bought out Consolidated Theaters, they went crummy cheapskate on people. Not too hot experience watching The Dark Knight, well it kinda was literally hot, in a bad way though. It finally all ended at 1:00 am and I'm exhausted.

As for the movie itself?

Eh....

.....HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I CAME! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!

I believe I read somewhere that his batman voice is actually digitally modified in post production. Ie: not his real voice.

No wonder, the sound is just, relentless. Its so grating and really stands out whenever Batman is talking. I understand the need for Bruce to hide his real voice but when the people around me are asking eachother "Good movie, but whats with Batmans voice?" You know you've gone too far with it.

Hope they really tone it down in the next movie.

won't even come close... it may come within 150 million though. It's not like spidey 3 which started so strong then just could not carry on. This movie has some serious word of mouth and staying power. It also has almost 0 competition in the upcoming weeks, so look for it to hold strong. I'm hoping it can keep it up.

did you see a digital projection? it's not the cinema's fault if that's the case. DLP crushes blacks in under-exposed shots and it bothered me the whole time because i've seen the prologue like once a day and specifically remember more definition in dark spots than when i saw it in theaters

problem solved: see it in imax

While I was waiting for my girlfriend to get out of the bathroom, I saw the folks coming out of Mamma Mia. Every single person looked to be over 60. Which sorta surprised me, I figured Mamma Mia would be able to at least attract more younger women. I'm sure it will nationwide though...

I actually saw The Dark Knight, then Hancock, and then Hellboy II on Friday. Obviously the other two didn't compare to TDK, but it was fun catching up on some of the movies I've missed. Hancock was a ghost town, and Hellboy II only had a couple folks in it during a period where it should have been packed. HBII is going to have a HUGE drop this weekend. :(

Every freaking showing at my theater was sold out. I went to the early bird first showing at 11am, and they still ended up selling that out. I was amazed when I saw the theater start filling up so early in the day.

Hellboy 2's drop is going to be as monumental as TDK's rise to the top. Sad for Guillermo, but the studio seriously should've thought this out better.

I'm not sure. I been going to that theater since 2004, when it was still under the Consolidated Theaters ownership, but ever since Regal bought out Consolidated Theaters me and my sister noticed how much darker the screen seems to look now, I first thought it was a fluke on just a few showings, but sure enough after going to so many movies this year, it is darker all around than it used to be ever since Regal took over. I used to go to another Regal theater with a friend in another town and I used to say it was darker than what I usually watched too, but now they got to my local theater too.

This bites.

It's all....part of the plaaaannn. *licks*

Seriously, this is now my new favorite movie of all time. The movie was so much deeper than I thought it would be, the dialogue, specifically for the Joker, was absolutely fantastic.

Oh boy. Here comes the hate.

I absolutely hated the editing of the movie. Even with the movie being 2h30 long, it felt like there were too many scenes crammed together, and I don't think it flowed really well. Too many quick shots, some transitions just felt completely off
(scene where Gordon is declared "dead"/scene with Gordon's family/club scene, comes to mind).

Didn't care at all for Maggie Gyllenhaal. She just didn't seem to be in love with Bruce Wayne anymore (even though she actually is). The Bruce/Rachel relation was a complete letdown. I blame Gyllenhaal on that.

I didn't think Gotham City had the same gritty look from the first one (with smoke all around the city). Was the movie even shot in the same city as the first one? Even the Wayne Enterprise didn't look like the first one(?) Gotta double check on that.

Batman's voice felt silly this time. I understand the logic behind this, but it was way too forced this time around. It doesn't make any sense for him to talk with a low bad-ass voice when he's around people like Rachel and Fox, who obviously knows who he is.

Joker and Two Faces were great though. Especially Ledger. He pulled it out extremely well. Definitely the highlight of the movie.

I think the big problem is that the movie had less "heart" than Begins, if that makes any sense. Rachel's and Alfred's characters were so much better in it. So many things in The Dark Knight just felt disconnected.

so I'm going to see it again next week, my first viewing experience wasn't all that great actually.

1. I was extremely tense and hyped up for this movie, didn't sleep well, and I drank coffee (unusual for me).

2. I waited in line for so long.

3. Went alone, although this doesn't really affect me.

4. I sat beside pretty much the worst pair of fucking idiots in the whole IMAX theatre, how unfortunate for me. They laughed at the part where
Gordon is revealed to be alive and goes back to his wife, his wife slaps him and gives him a heartfelt hug
. I was like WTF, that's not LOL funny you fucktards. Then the stupid bitch makes a big deal out of
Wayne's Lambo getting fucked up in the traffic collision.
Then in the scene
with Joker and Two-Face in the hospital, Joker tells Two-Face some story and mentions "sending all the soldiers to get killed"
and the fucking cunt blurts out "That's not funny at all!! *grumble grumble grumble*" Wow, shut your fucking face PLEASE. ARGH. Very annoying since the rest of the small theater was quite tame. Really, they were the obvious annoying loudmouths that one commonly sees in theaters, restaurants, etc...

Still, the movie was so awesome that almost nothing could completely spoil it.

I was insanely tired when I saw it as well (3:20 am showing). I almost felt like I was dreaming when I noticed Batman was taking a piss in the stall next to me and Joker dropping a #2.

What a bunch of idiots, I hate people like that at movies. STOP FUCKING TALKING

People weren't talking at the screening I want too but there was a dude within 5ft that smelled like dried spit. It was either BO or he was breathing heavily. Partway into the movie I started to suspect the dude next to me since he was breathing like a 500lb Behemoth, when, in actuality, he was just a 20 year old 120lb nerdling. Ugh, the SMELL

I wish I had the balls to step up and say something, but I'm just an unassuming asian who only fantasizes about things.

Yeah this sucks hardcore.

I actually had a major problem with people clapping or cheering or doing anything during this movie. Usually with these summer blockbuster films, clapping and cheering at awesome parts I have no problem with, but this time I just wanted to be completely immersed in the experience and I wanted to have no distractions.

If someone actually looked at me during this movie they would have thought I was probably bored out of my mind or sleeping with my eyes open... cause literally I did not move at all. I just sat there in awe at pretty much everything.

Ya...fantasy upped the estimates again. :D

I've no qualms with telling people to shut up in movies, we're in the dark anyway and they probably wouldn't even know it's from me. If I hear some loudmouth idiot I'd just say "shut up" but if it's like a kid or something, I'd just kindly go "shh".

Though whenever it's a girl, I never say anything.
