Jesus.. people no need to get in a tizzy. I don't follow the ins and outs of Smash on a hardcore level, I just remember hearing when people said they wanted Mewtwo (this was before he came out), that you already had Lucario and the Mewtwo fans were just being babies.
Very happy for Roy and Ryu fans who lost all hope with the inclusion of Mega Man and Lucina. It must feel oh so satisfying.
If someone told me two years ago we would have at least 5 new or returning characters who's names started with the leter R but none of them were Ridley I would have probably laughed at them. Rosalina, Roy Koopa, Robin, Ryu, Roy.
And since Cloud appears in some of the Kingdom Hearts spin-offs for the GBA and DS, as well as the Theatrhythm games, he could be put in without technically violating the "must have appeared on a Nintendo platform" rule.
Man, Ryu and Roy. Can't imagine two characters I'd have liked less.
I remember playing Street Fighter 2 in an arcade WAY back when as a kid. Took an instant dislike to it then, and have disliked every version I've played since. And even inside of the Street Fighter world Ryu is bland as hell. I get that it's a crazy popular series, so most people will be excited, but for me? Eh...
What is the purpose of Roy? We have Marth, we have Lucina, we have the 'true Roy' with the wicked pink shades...
Mewtwo and Lucas are great though. Can't win 'em all, I guess, but Ice Climbers needed to be here by now. Screw the 3DS if it can't manage them.
I'm basing this on Pre-Smash Ballot. I have no idea how that's going to go.
I only still say that based on the 3DS CSS. I know, brought it up a while back but I still think this. Plus, the fact that none of them have custom moves more than likely speed the development process up.
IIRC, particles only appear if you charge it a bit first, when uncharged it looked like a regular slash. The motion is still similar so I still think it could be his Shield Breaker. Either way, glad to see him back. His design is great and some of his alts are from other FE characters too! (I can spot Zihark from FE9-10 at least, can't put my finger on the rest tho)
I know what that is in Street Fighter: crouching short kick -> crouching forward kick -> Tatsumaki. But what is it in Smash? A 2-part down tilt? A down tilt chained into down smash?
Plus his voice samples have multiple versions of his special moves, including Shinku Hadouken and Shakunetsu Hadouken. He doesn't have custom moves, so how exactly are those variations supposed to work? Extra command inputs? Meter mechanics?
