Pause, it's a DLC expansion too? Why am I oddly hyped for this?

I have a fever and the only cure is more
cowbell
characters.

Oh wait, I forgot this is the two minutes hate thread. Fuck you Cpapcom, this is not the revelaition I needed right now.

8 new characters for just $15? A DLC update?

That sounds too good to be true especially from where Capcom is coming from. Considering that the last update was a disc only release with 12 characters for $40, this is a great deal.

Assuming it's true of course.

I must be completely out of touch with this forum at this point. They hint at 8 more characters for $15 or whatever and everyone's outraged, regrets buying the game in the first place etc. WTF? The only way any of this makes sense, is if you're all buying games, not playing them, then a better, cheaper version comes along and the one sitting on your shelf doesn't look as cool anymore. Vanilla MvC3 is still an awesome game, it has the DHC glitch which is fun, better versions of Tronne, Phoenix, etc, there's nothing wrong with playing an "outdated" fighting game. It's still fun to play Vanilla SF4 with Sagat vs Akuma. Still fun to play Xmen vs Street Fighter even though MvC2 exists. This place is starting to go a bit crazy with the whole anything Capcom does is evil nonsense.

UMVC3 is getting long in the tooth, and its already getting hard to find people to play against at times I want to play. I welcome new characters and new stages and other things that freshen up gameplay a bit.

If it was retail only like UMVC3 was, I'd be somewhat upset, but offered as 15$ DLC? Not that big a deal. I will buy it no problem!

Shit, scared me there for a minute, I just bought Ultimate last week and I was worried it'd be another disc-only release.

If it's just an optional DLC I don't see what everyone's deal is. Obviously this isn't a situation where they're trying to charge for cut content or stuff on the disc or whatever. If you want some new characters in a few months, get it, if not, who cares?

You can't call it 3X with a giant X and not having Megaman X. If he isn't in this game, Capcom has reached unreal trolling levels.

As for the DLC itself, I actually like when fighting games are constantly updated. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was shitty because it wasn't DLC, but instead a whole new game you needed to buy. If this added 8 characters for $15 DLC then I will be happy.

For rational people, I can understand (and even expect to see) frustration or general mocking of Capcom. I'm so hopelessly hooked on this game that I'd gladly pay for more characters, though.

Having admitted to this, I suppose I can't mock people who readily eat up $15 map packs for shooters anymore.
No Vita version logo on those ads..... Just sayin'!

Never buying another Capcom fighting game at the original release again. You burned me with Street Fighter 4. You burned me with MVC3. Holding out for the third title in a year's time from now on.
Yeah, I wouldn't say I got "burned" because I played the shit out of and loved SF4, but after seeing Super and AE and then the whole Ultimate thing with MvC3, despite SFxT looking awesome I'm going to hold out for the first revision.

No fucking way

Oh man capcom is a HOT topic this month aren't they? Well since this is a DLC expansion I expect the characters to be better then what was in Ultimate.

You know what? I like this, they release these new games in a timely matter, I don't even have to wait that long until a new version comes out. I'll get this, I don't see them doing a 4th expansion.

I'd be more inclined to believe this if it were coming in May, alongside the Avengers movie. July 3rd is the same week as the Spider-Man movie, but I'd think Marvel would line up the marketing with the one they have more involvement in.

For the record, I completely believe that this is fake and you're all being trolled.

But to entertain the possibility, I really don't see how the following two schools of thought on GAF can be reconciled:
"Why doesn't Capcom support their games with more content?"
"Why does Capcom milk these things for all they're worth until they're dry?"

And in either case, that much potential content for $15 is anything but steep based on recent history.

I ask again, why the hell do folks still support this shithole of a company.
Well, personally, seeing as how I haven't bought or even had a desire to buy a non-MvC retail console game since MvC3 came out, I can't say it hasn't generally been worth the investment.

Yeah, It's more likely to be fake.

I don't understand what problem people have with this. The physical edition will be for people who have yet to buy the game. The rest can upgrade their existing copy for a low price.

I guess we'll know tomorrow. Plenty of Gaffers work at Gamestop and should be able to confirm. I'd honestly given up because of the "no dlc for games not intended for it" quotes and $15 is a great deal for 8 new characters so color me surprised. I hope they work on more costumes as well.

oh capcom! guess this mean SFxT will probably have 3 updated version too.

what title they'll give it this time, "Extreme Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3"?

i hate capcom for this kind of thing but if there is karin, megaman, masamune date in this updated version i may just buy it.
