[Rumor] Too Human 2 is coming...

FOR.

Too Human was fun. I don't care for Denis, but he made a game worth playing, especially co-op. Just go in twin-stick shooter style, destroy things, get loot. Fun. I replayed it 5 or 6 times with one character to finally get a full set of rare armor and weapons, then moved onto another character class before getting side-tracked with Mass Effect. I'll probably go back to it soon to finish up the other character. The upgrades/rune system/customization were deep and rewarding, and the gameplay was just plain fun, especially the combos.

I think too many people got wrapped up in the Dyack drama.

This story reminds me of those news reports you see on movie sites all the time where an out of work director or producer or actor is quizzed about a sequel to that one cult franchise they made a decade ago and they say that it's coming real soon like hope will buy shit in Hollywood and the movie never ever gets greenlit.
Hopefully 2 Human turns out better than Boondock Saints 2.

Ow man that was totally uncalled for I LOVE Boondock Saints 2 (also I have not real taste in movies btw :P).
I would like a Two Human Two, I enjoyed the first one a lot co-op with friends was a blast.

Since Denis is probably reading this: GO AND HAVE A LOOK AT DARKSIDERS

That is something what could be the perfect vessel for carrying the Norse Cyberpunk storyline.

They did some work on Darksiders, so that is probably already happening.

I hope it comes out. I liked the first game. Once the controls clicked for me, I had a good time. My only real gripe is that the class specific armor was way too rare. Anyway, I'd buy it, but I'll believe it once there's actually a formal announcement.

It was a good loot game.

Just because a lot of posters here doesn't like the genre, doesn't make Too Human a bad game.

He basically made a Twilight quality game, without any rifftrax to be able to enjoy it.
Gaming's better titles are Twilight quality. Too Human seemed roughly qualitatively comparable to a fantastical The Hottie and The Nottie.

Actually, can a fantastical open-world The Hottie and The Nottie action-RPG be a thing? Er, was that Neir?

I want to know what the SK development team thinks of wasting another couple years of their lives on a game that nobody wants on their resume.

"Although there are some parties that are strictly anti-cut scene, and others that are pro cut-scene, when you think about it, it’s not a matter of whether there should be cut scenes or not. Really it comes down to the basics of content and Aristotle’s Poetics." - Denis Dyack

Joke post?

If you think Too Human was an above average game I'd say you need to play better games.
Eh, if we are counting 'all retail console games', which means all the shovelware and such, he is right. Though we you narrow down the list to 'games that are worth your time' then its far more debatable.

Atrociously awful game I quit 3/4ths of the way through. Ice Forest is one of the worst levels ever.

The first Too Human was a decent game with a lot of problems. I have faith that Silicon Knights can make the sequel a hit. Just don't hype it up in a retarded fashion (Denis Dyack). Be smart about this, SK.

Another gem:

"But what we're also seeing is for the people who don't like it, generally just don't get it. And it's because we've created something so innovative and different," he says. "It's ironic, it just shows that human nature of if you don't understand something, you immediately attack it. It's pretty interesting in that regard." - Denis Dyack

I, personally, enjoyed Too Human for what it was. But everyone should know that the drama surrounding the game means defending it on GAF is a Sisyphean task.

I think the best thing to come out of Too Human was their awesome viral campaign video (or videos).

Awesome music too.

Cannot stress this point enough.

Watched that documentary so many times. Wonderful music, as mentioned. Made me a huge fan of (director/composer) Jay Cheel too.

Shocking you hate a 360 exclusive. If it had been a PS3 exclusive you would have said 10/10, Shane.

I'm picturing Dyack rocking back and forth in his garage, reeking of piss and muttering to himself, attempting to build what he thinks is Too Human 2 out of bits of tin and wet cardboard.

Of which was drenched in his own piss.

Too Human Too.

:lol Ahhh what fuzzy beautiful memories GAF has brought. What a glorious time that was.

PROTIP: If you intend on making a quality loot game, then forget about any kind of "story" or "script" and instead FOCUS on pure gameplay!

Case in point: Monster Hunter series

I never did play Too Human. Wish there was a PC version, it's something I'd definitely pick up in a Steam Bargain Bin Sale.

At least one can actually play Too Human.

:lol

Even with the analogue-enabling patch Lair is barely playable. While it controls a little better, the desire to play the game is as non-existent as ever. :lol

Yeah, script too. "It's a good day to die". Sigh... *turns off console.
Sure, there were a couple weird scenes, but for the most part - the dialogue was actually pretty good.

The cut-scenes had some terrible animation though. Granted, it's SK's first (and so far -- only?) game this generation. A lot of people have had rough starts, I think.

I'd like it more if it weren't a loot game. Originally (say, pre-demo) I thought they were shooting for more of an Advent Rising or Halo sort of space opera, you had some degree of hand-to-hand fighting, shooting, but would be more about exploring and the story.

When that basically shrunk in the wash to a sci-fi diablo-kinda game, it got much less interesting.

why?

why make a sequel when the franchise already has a tarnished reputation?

why not use the existing artifacts/resources/materials, upgrade them and make a new franchise?

I'll probably not be interested in this unless substantial improvements are made. I played Too Human for a couple of hours and was really bored/frustrated with it.

Now that I think about, maybe this is why I liked Too Human so much. I play so damn many janky, horribly acted PC games that it doesn't bother me.

When you only play big games from big publishers I guess I can see why you would think Too Human is the worst game ever.

DLC first?

4 player 2Human would be great.

Eternal Darkness was the best game of it's generation - why do a 'sequel' which would end up being more of the same so soon? Just wait for tech to catch up and make an even deeper & more mythical version with even more intertwined fates.

Better would be another game in a similar style to ED with completely different characters & story, then ED+ in 10 years.

Highly enjoyed Too Human even with all the flaws. As someone mentioned earlier, the setting and idea behind it were very cool, just needed more work.
