Rumored Pokemon X/Y Leaks. Possible Spoiler Warning!

Ghost-spider sounds rad but bipedal helioptile sounds iffy. Overall cool sounding stuff.

Helioptile is already bipedal. I have no idea why one would think it would evolve into quadrupedal.

I don't understand what some people have against bipedal Pokémon btw.

Because they resemble human too much? I don't mind with bipeds like Swampert, Typhlosion, Sceptile, and Ursaring. But the likes of Lucario and Blaziken aren't just anyone taste.

So what? Is that supposed to be a bad thing? We have human-like Pokémon since the original generation (Machamp, Jynx, Mr Mime and the Hitmons). I don't like Pokémon that look "too human" either (Braixen being the exception), but that characteristic isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The thing is, an Helioptile evolution would hardly look "human" just because it stand on its hind legs. Ursaring, Swampert, Empoleon, Kangaskhan, Rhyperior, Sceptile, Blastoise, Charizard, Pangoro, etc etc don't look human just because they are bipedal.

wow, you can change complete outfits and skin tone in this? i thought it would just be minor customization like a hat and glasses or just clothes colour swaps. fuck. i need this.

But frill lizards are often seen running on two legs.

Have you ever seen a frilled lizard run?

Hey hey guys I'm not attacking Helioptile here, just answering Reila question. Actually Helioptile is on my okay list and I should write that in my post before.

Maybe I should specifically said "non-ape like that resemble human too much". Maybe to put it frankly, 'furry' Pokemon that is not into my taste.

Actually, most Pokémon are "furry" regardless of being bipedal or not :P I got your point though.

The point is that human shaped pokemon have is own type (FIGHTING).

We can acceptbipedal pokemon if at leat they dont look generic fighting machines.

Think about the shape of the body of bipedal pokemon, i cant see some bipedal pokemon using low kick or hi jump kick. Charizard and Dragonite are bipedal and dont have the body similar of a human being.

In other words, bipedal pokemon dont need to look to humam shaped fighting pokemon. That's the point.

Anyway, pokemon is game about monsters/creatures and we have much more quadruped animals than bipedal in nature(okay we can have more fish beings, but ignore this).

Fairy type is like the "missing link" in Pokemon. Many past generation Pokemon actually make more sense to become part of Fairy type like Chimeco, Bannette, Snorunt, Luvdisc, and Whimsicott. While I hope these Pokemon receive type change, but I doubt it that GameFreak would made big change like this.
Bannette and snorunt make little sense as a fairy type. Here are the ones that I think should be fairy excluding the already confirmed ones:

Victini, Munna, Audino, whimsicott, lilligant, alomomola, mew, Bellossom, Jumpluff, Snubbul, Delibird, Miltank, Ho-oh, Celebi, Skitty, Plusle, minun, Illumise, Volbeat, Chimecho, Gorebyss, Luvdisc, Latias, Latios, Jirachi, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cresselia, Manaphy, and Shaymin. It may seem like a lot but counting the already confirmed/rumored ones in this thread itd only be about 50 pokemon of the nearly 600. Its not a ton comparatively and it'd add a lot of variety.

Psychic as well. And I am not talking about human shaped Pokémon, I am talking about bipedal Pokémon in general.

My question was: "What people have against bipedal Pokémon?" not "What people have against human shaped Pokémon?".

I honestly have no idea of why you are telling me this.

In other words, bipedal pokemon dont need to look to humam shaped fighting pokemon. That's the point.
I never said they do?

Did you count the amount of bipedal and quadrupedal Pokémon? There is a massive amount of bipedal Pokémon. Read again: Bipedal Pokémon, not human shaped Pokémon. Bipedal.

Okay, i missed your point.

The answer for your question is simple: diversity of shapes.

Your question isnt right , because the majority of people dont like that much human shaped pokemon, but are fine with bipedal pokemon.

The problem is that soo much easy to GF to put a animal face in the body of a human shapped being calling it a new pokemon than create a much more diverse shapes.

In other words, we want to see more birds, fish, dogs that dont look human shaped. We want pokemon dat look like more animals than human.

Now that I think about it a pure fairy type Blissey/Chansey would be annoying lol. Here's hoping they make good poison types that can actually take advantage of moves like poison jab to deal with bulky fairies.

Why would it be annoying? Scizor is already big in the competitive scene.

There are plenty of good poison types. Just no reason to play them.

The Fairy change could cause more poisons to pop up.

But we already have Gengar/Venusaur/Toxicroak.

Personally, I want

Scrullipede to become OU viable this gen.

Okay, i missed your point.
It is okay.

The answer for your question is simple: diversity of shapes.
But there is still a lot of diversity, it is not like every new Pokémon is bipedal. I admit there were quite a lot of bipedal Pokémon in Gen V, but that doesn't seem to be the case in Gen VI.

Your question isnt right , because the majority of people dont like that much human shaped pokemon, but are fine with bipedal pokemon.
I don't know man (or woman?), it is not the first time I am noticing people complaining about a Pokémon's evolution being bipedal. When the starters' evolutions were revealed, a lot of people complained about Braixen and it isn't even human shaped and now they are complaining about Helioptile. I understand complains about Machamp, Gardevoir, Conkeldurr and others (although I think those human-like Pokémon have their place in the series as any other), but Braixen? Helioptile? Bah.

In other words, we want to see more birds, fish, dogs that dont look human shaped. We want pokemon dat look like more animals than human.
I do share this feeling, though I don't really want more fish-based Pokémon and I think there is already too many dogs, foxes and similar (where is the diversity? :p).

Having poison moves finally be viable will be interesting.

Why would it be annoying? Scizor is already big in the competitive scene.

And this is why the addition of Fairy type will make the meta interesting. Sure Dragons still have huge stats and wide array of moves pool as their arsenal but now they have more Pokemon that'll posed huge problem for them.

Fairy is basically the next huge change I've waited since Generation III.

Why would snorunt make little sense as fairy type when it's based on japanese folklore?
Ah I for some reason thought Glalie was a dark type and thought it'd be a littke strange. I could see all or at least most pokemon in the Fairy egg group becoming fairy type since a few have already been confirmed. Perhaps not Pikachu as its a pretty big mascot and they may not want to toy with that. However I could see all of the others plus a couple of other lines and legendaries.

tempted to look, going to hold out and try and be "surprised" for the pokemon until release. Only thing I need to see atm is the final evo of the starters, all the spoilers I want.

Mind you guys, humanoid mons are pretty archetypal for a mons series. Even Dragon Quest and SMT have that.

They seem legit. Like what a game tester would describe. The ghodt spider sounds too awesome. And I like the idea of a Fairy Dunsparce, I hope it gets a Mega too. The boar, porcupine and budger sound great too. Oh and I hope Helioptile becomes a dragon.

I'm most excited to see how this change affects Poison-types that seem just outside the realm of viability. It'll be interesting to see where things like Nidoking, Roserade, and Crobat end up.

Just remember, WPM's initial source got silenced by Nintendo. I keep seeing people assume this is correct because the other stuff was.

This could be like that Minotauros thing back in 2010 where someone who had a bit of a reputation sent WPM (and myself) images and details of a biped Tauros evolution and a serpent legendary. I felt it was suspect, he posted it.

Haha, yeah I remember that thing.

So, what you're saying is that there's a chance this isn't real and we shouldn't get too excited until it's confirmed?

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but you can't pick a favorite color on the 3DS like you could on DS. Unless they use your system's Mii color. Leads me to believe it's bullshit.
